0:00:44 > 0:00:47The team's goal is to be the first plane to go around the globe

0:00:47 > 0:00:49using only power from the sun.

0:00:49 > 0:00:55Ayshah's been looking in their incredible journey so far.

0:00:55 > 0:00:57This plane is the Solar Impulse 2.

0:00:57 > 0:01:07and this is what makes it pretty cool...

0:01:07 > 0:01:09It weighs the same as a family car.

0:01:09 > 0:01:12The pilot can only sleep for 20 minutes at a time.

0:01:12 > 0:01:14It is 10 times slower than a normal plane,

0:01:14 > 0:01:17with a top speed of only 62 miles per hour.

0:01:17 > 0:01:18So what has it done so far?

0:01:18 > 0:01:20In March 2015, the journey began in Abu Dhabi

0:01:20 > 0:01:23in the Middle East travelling to Muscat in Oman

0:01:23 > 0:01:26in 13 hours and 1 minute.

0:01:26 > 0:01:29Since then, it's flown all over, stopping off at eight places

0:01:29 > 0:01:33around the world.

0:01:33 > 0:01:35Then it was the record-breaking big one -

0:01:35 > 0:01:37Nanjing in China to Kalaeloa in Hawaii.

0:01:37 > 0:01:42The 8,900km journey didn't go exactly according to plan,

0:01:42 > 0:01:48as it had to land in Nagoya in Japan to be fixed.

0:01:48 > 0:01:50But, during the five-day journey, the pilot broke the endurance

0:01:50 > 0:01:55record for a solo flight.

0:01:55 > 0:01:58It's now at the next stage of its epic adventure,

0:01:58 > 0:02:01but will have to wait for sunny weather to get going.

0:02:01 > 0:02:05It will fly from Hawaii to North America in four days.

0:02:05 > 0:02:08But there's still a long way to go before completing its super cool

0:02:08 > 0:02:15mission of flying around the globe powered by the sun.

0:02:17 > 0:02:19Now take a look at these pictures from China,

0:02:19 > 0:02:21showing a huge sandstorm hitting China's Gansu Province

0:02:21 > 0:02:24yesterday afternoon.

0:02:24 > 0:02:27The storm filled the skies with dust in north-west China, blocking out

0:02:27 > 0:02:33the landscape, but rain cleared it up later in the day.

0:02:33 > 0:02:38Now to the hundreds and hundreds of seals sunbathing on the beach

0:02:38 > 0:02:40in Massachusetts in America.

0:02:40 > 0:02:43Scientists say seal numbers have gone up there

0:02:43 > 0:02:45over the past 40 years, because the mammals are now

0:02:45 > 0:02:46better protected by law.

0:02:46 > 0:02:48But it's not so good for fishermen and women.

0:02:48 > 0:02:52More seals means more fish being eaten!

0:02:52 > 0:02:54That's all from me.

0:02:54 > 0:03:01Newsround's back right here just before midday.
