0:00:05 > 0:00:07Good morning, I'm Jenny, it's Friday, and this is what's

0:00:07 > 0:00:11coming up on Newsround.

0:00:11 > 0:00:14The scientists hoping to shine some light on black holes.

0:00:14 > 0:00:18And the dolphins having a whale of a time in south Africa.

0:00:27 > 0:00:29First up to the goalkeeper who has just become the most

0:00:29 > 0:00:31expensive in British history.

0:00:31 > 0:00:33Jordan Pickford has left Sunderland, who were relegated last season,

0:00:33 > 0:00:36to join Everton for a fee that could rise to ?30 million.

0:00:36 > 0:00:41We'll get to see Pickford in action when he plays for England Under-21's

0:00:41 > 0:00:46in this summer's European Championships.

0:00:46 > 0:00:49Now, when it come to space, black holes are pretty mysterious things.

0:00:49 > 0:00:52But a group of scientists in China have just launched a special

0:00:52 > 0:00:58telescope which is aiming to shed a little light on the subject.

0:00:58 > 0:01:00Meet the Insight telescope, China's first x-ray telescope, which they've

0:01:00 > 0:01:04just launched into space.

0:01:04 > 0:01:07Its job will be to search for black holes and help scientists

0:01:07 > 0:01:09understand them better.

0:01:09 > 0:01:12Black holes are pretty elusive characters,

0:01:12 > 0:01:15and are usually invisible to regular space telescopes.

0:01:15 > 0:01:18This is because they suck in all the light which is nearby

0:01:18 > 0:01:21to them with their super strong gravitational pull.

0:01:21 > 0:01:24However, the new Insight telescope has a bit of a trick up its sleeve.

0:01:24 > 0:01:26When objects like stars get sucked into a black hole,

0:01:26 > 0:01:29they heat up and give out x-rays.

0:01:29 > 0:01:33These are then picked up by the Insight telescope and sent

0:01:33 > 0:01:36back to the scientists here on Earth.

0:01:36 > 0:01:39Researchers are hoping it will help them to learn more about how

0:01:39 > 0:01:43the black holes behave and tell them about other object in our galaxy.

0:01:43 > 0:01:49Pretty cool.

0:01:49 > 0:01:51This is one of the most famous paintings in

0:01:51 > 0:01:53the world - the Mona Lisa.

0:01:53 > 0:01:56But you've never seen her looking like this...

0:01:56 > 0:01:59A Spanish street artist has created a mega-mural of the painting that's

0:01:59 > 0:02:01over 50 metres tall on the side of a building in Paris.

0:02:01 > 0:02:09The artist says he wanted a new version for the whole world.

0:02:09 > 0:02:12Do you miss X Factor or The Voice?

0:02:12 > 0:02:15They might not be on at the moment, but a brand new singing show

0:02:15 > 0:02:18starts on Saturday night.

0:02:18 > 0:02:2130 choirs and singing groups will be battling it out

0:02:21 > 0:02:23for a big prize of ?50,000, over six episodes.

0:02:23 > 0:02:28Take a look at this.

0:02:28 > 0:02:31This is Pitch Battle!

0:02:31 > 0:02:32Expect colourful costumes, cool dance moves, and

0:02:32 > 0:02:37some amazing vocals.

0:02:37 > 0:02:40So, let's find out what Pitch Battle is all about.

0:02:40 > 0:02:43# Makes me feel this way!

0:02:43 > 0:02:49It is vocal groups, amazing vocal groups,

0:02:49 > 0:02:52very varied vocal groups, from Gospel choirs to a cappella,

0:02:52 > 0:02:56competing, basically, to be crowned the best vocal group

0:02:56 > 0:02:59of Pitch Battle.

0:02:59 > 0:03:02Mel Giedroyc will be joined by judges choirmaster Gareth Malone

0:03:02 > 0:03:05and American singer Kelis, so get your voices ready

0:03:05 > 0:03:12to sing along this weekend.

0:03:12 > 0:03:15Next up, these pelicans look pretty happy but it was a different story

0:03:15 > 0:03:16a couple of months ago.

0:03:16 > 0:03:18Here's Hayley to explain why.

0:03:18 > 0:03:21Hundreds of pelicans have been seriously poorly due to a poisonous

0:03:21 > 0:03:24algae that's been growing far too rapidly in the waters

0:03:24 > 0:03:27where they live.

0:03:27 > 0:03:30While small amount of this algae are fine, the pelicans have big

0:03:30 > 0:03:34appetite and too much of the green stuff can make them ill.

0:03:34 > 0:03:37When this toxin builds up, gets in the fish,

0:03:37 > 0:03:38doesn't hurt the fish.

0:03:38 > 0:03:40Get in the barnacle, doesn't hurt the barnacle.

0:03:40 > 0:03:42But when things in turn eat those critters, like our seagulls,

0:03:42 > 0:03:45like our pelicans, like our loons, when they eat these critters

0:03:45 > 0:03:53they can concentrate that material so much inside them they get sick.

0:03:53 > 0:03:56After eating this stuff the pelicans find it difficult to swim or fly,

0:03:56 > 0:03:59and have to receive help from local wildlife reserves, where they nurse

0:03:59 > 0:04:05the birds back to health.

0:04:05 > 0:04:08When the algae has vanished from the water and the birds'

0:04:08 > 0:04:11tummies are better, the vets get to take the pelicans

0:04:11 > 0:04:13to the beach and release them back into the water.

0:04:13 > 0:04:15It's the best part of my job, releasing pelicans.

0:04:15 > 0:04:18You see them in the pool, and they look like they're doing OK,

0:04:18 > 0:04:21but once you bring them out here you see how happy

0:04:21 > 0:04:25they are to be out back in the wild, and the best thing is when they jump

0:04:25 > 0:04:28out of the crate so fast they kick sand up in your face!

0:04:28 > 0:04:31Back up on their feet and with better tummies,

0:04:31 > 0:04:33the pelicans are just happy to fly free back to the water

0:04:33 > 0:04:39that they call home.

0:04:39 > 0:04:41Finally, check out these playful dolphins off

0:04:41 > 0:04:42the coast of South Africa.

0:04:42 > 0:04:46Drone footage caught the pod jumping in the waves for over eight hours.

0:04:46 > 0:04:49The dolphins were kicking back after the area where they live had

0:04:49 > 0:04:51been hit by big storms recently.

0:04:51 > 0:04:58That's all from me, Newsround's back right here in about half-an-hour.

0:05:08 > 0:05:11Brand-new Matilda And The Ramsay Bunch is coming up next... Yeah.

0:05:11 > 0:05:14..and the Ramsays are taking it to the go-kart track, to see who's
