0:00:46 > 0:00:48three billion pounds, weighs 65,000 tonnes

0:01:14 > 0:01:17There's three key players in the solar system -
0:01:17 > 0:01:20the sun, the moon, and, of course, the earth
0:01:20 > 0:01:22which we live on.
0:01:22 > 0:01:28Now, on a normal afternoon, the sun shines on the earth.
0:01:28 > 0:01:30This means it's bright during the day.
0:01:30 > 0:01:32And as the earth turns around at night, it makes
0:01:32 > 0:01:35everything go dark.
0:01:35 > 0:01:38But on the afternoon of Monday 21st August,
0:01:38 > 0:01:41something different will happen.
0:01:41 > 0:01:44The moon will come between the earth and the sun.
0:01:44 > 0:01:47The moon will block out the sun rays, which will cast a shadow over
0:01:47 > 0:01:50the United States of America.
0:01:50 > 0:01:53This will create a total solar eclipse.
0:01:53 > 0:01:56It will happen over 14 states in the US,
0:01:56 > 0:01:59from the west to the east coast, in the middle of the day.
0:01:59 > 0:02:05It's a big deal because there hasn't been one there in 38 years.
0:02:05 > 0:02:09And one like this, which goes from coast to coast,
0:02:09 > 0:02:12hasn't happened in nearly 100 years.
0:02:12 > 0:02:14Wowzer!
0:02:14 > 0:02:17Millions of people are expected to watch it in the US
0:02:17 > 0:02:20and they will be making sure they wear their special protective
0:02:20 > 0:02:24glasses before looking up.
0:02:24 > 0:02:28But don't feel left out - we will be able to see a small part
0:02:28 > 0:02:32of the moon covering the sun from the UK.
0:02:32 > 0:02:35And, of course, we'll be showing you exactly what's happening
0:02:35 > 0:02:40in America here on Newsround.
0:02:40 > 0:02:42To a country with lots of secrets, where children find it
0:02:42 > 0:02:45impossible to go online, and getting information about what's
0:02:45 > 0:02:48going on in the world is really difficult.
0:02:48 > 0:02:51North Korea is in the news because of the arguments its government
0:02:51 > 0:02:53is having with America.
0:02:53 > 0:02:55So what is life like for children there?
0:02:55 > 0:02:59Ayshah's been investigating.
0:03:04 > 0:03:10This is what children in North Korea are watching at the moment.
0:03:10 > 0:03:12It's a cartoon about a big fierce tiger getting beaten
0:03:12 > 0:03:17by a small spiky hedgehog.
0:03:17 > 0:03:20It was made by the North Korean government for children to watch.
0:03:20 > 0:03:23It seems that the message they want to send to kids
0:03:23 > 0:03:26is that the orange tiger is America and the brave hedgehog
0:03:26 > 0:03:29is North Korea.
0:03:29 > 0:03:32They want children to believe that their country is brave
0:03:32 > 0:03:37and clever and that America is a nasty bully.
0:03:37 > 0:03:42The leader of North Korea, Kim Jong-Un, controls all of this -
0:03:42 > 0:03:44what children can see, what they hear and
0:03:44 > 0:03:46what they can say.
0:03:46 > 0:03:49Because North Korea is such a secret place, it's hard to know
0:03:49 > 0:03:53what children living there think of cartoons like this.
0:03:53 > 0:03:56But we can find out some things about their lives.
0:03:56 > 0:04:01At school, pupils are taught a lot about their leader.
0:04:01 > 0:04:03From an early age, they are told he is wonderful
0:04:03 > 0:04:08and should always be praised.
0:04:08 > 0:04:11And at the age of ten, all kids have to join
0:04:11 > 0:04:14the Children's Union, where they sing songs about how
0:04:14 > 0:04:17great the leader is.
0:04:17 > 0:04:21And we know that life is hard for many children in North Korea -
0:04:21 > 0:04:23last year, a report by the United Nations said that
0:04:23 > 0:04:28many children weren't getting the food they need.
0:04:28 > 0:04:31And although we know some things, we still don't know
0:04:31 > 0:04:34what North Korean children really think about the leader
0:04:34 > 0:04:38of this mysterious country.
0:04:43 > 0:04:46And if you want to understand more about North Korea,
