:00:10. > :00:18.Why do with a special news from the Paralympics. Here is what is coming

:00:19. > :00:22.up. Paralympics GB claim their 50th goal of the games with this

:00:23. > :00:26.fantastic from Paul Blake. I find out what it is like for

:00:27. > :00:38.children with disabilities who live here in Rio.

:00:39. > :00:43.Hello, I am Martin, live from Rio de Janeiro. The Paralympics is in this

:00:44. > :00:47.city and that means a whole range of people with different disabilities

:00:48. > :00:51.have come here to complete -- compete. When you are here in the

:00:52. > :00:55.part the access is pretty good but outside in the streets it is pretty

:00:56. > :01:00.difficult, I find it hard getting up and down pavements and into

:01:01. > :01:03.buildings. What is it like for people with disabilities? I have

:01:04. > :01:14.been to meet an 11-year-old and here is his story.

:01:15. > :01:23.I have come to a poor neighbourhood in the north of Rio to meet a pretty

:01:24. > :01:29.cool dude. As you can see, he doesn't let his disability hold him

:01:30. > :01:33.back. He was born without fully formed arms and legs, which can make

:01:34. > :01:39.everyday life quite difficult for him. My aunt gave me a skateboard

:01:40. > :01:44.for Easter when I was smaller, to help me get around, so I kept

:01:45. > :01:48.training with this small plastic skateboard, just to help me.

:01:49. > :01:51.Eventually my mum bought me a wooden skateboard and I started to come

:01:52. > :01:55.here to the park to learn how to do it properly and it was a cool

:01:56. > :01:59.experience and since then I have been coming here to play. Transport

:02:00. > :02:06.is very difficult around the city. Things need to be more accessible.

:02:07. > :02:13.The buses should be better for wheelchair users. There should be

:02:14. > :02:18.more ramps everywhere. I would also like cars to be more accessible as

:02:19. > :02:23.well. How do you feel about the Paralympics being in the city of

:02:24. > :02:27.Rio? The Paralympic games are very important to me, I really like it.

:02:28. > :02:31.It has encouraged me to do more sports. Each day I watch one more

:02:32. > :02:36.sport and it encourages me more, it gives me more sports -- hope. If it

:02:37. > :02:41.was in another city I would not be watching with the same emotion as I

:02:42. > :02:46.am here in Rio. What message would you give to young people with a

:02:47. > :02:49.disability? Whenever you see a barrier or some difficulty, have

:02:50. > :02:56.faith and always keep your head up. Don't let anything keep your head

:02:57. > :02:59.down. Remember these words, faith, determination and willpower and you

:03:00. > :03:05.will go far and you will get your prize. It was an absolute pleasure

:03:06. > :03:10.meeting him, what an inspirational young man. Let us look at the action

:03:11. > :03:16.from today, it has been a strong start for Paralympics GB. The team

:03:17. > :03:20.has now reached 50 gold medals so far with another great performance

:03:21. > :03:24.from Paul Blake on the track and he built on the bronze and Silver

:03:25. > :03:31.medals he got at London 2012 and he grabbed gold in the T 36 400 metre

:03:32. > :03:37.race. Sophie Wells won her second gold-medal of the games in the

:03:38. > :03:43.dressage. -- her second medal of the games with a silver in the dressage.

:03:44. > :03:46.The basketball team are battling against the Netherlands to try and

:03:47. > :03:50.get a medal in the bronze medal match. Earlier we had what it was

:03:51. > :03:56.like for children in Rio de Janeiro to get around their home own city. I

:03:57. > :03:59.would like to know what it is like for children watching the

:04:00. > :04:07.Paralympics back home in the UK. Take a look. Before I watched this

:04:08. > :04:16.year Paralympics I never knew that actual disabled people can do

:04:17. > :04:21.sports. It made me so proud and meant I can achieve what I can in

:04:22. > :04:27.life. It is really important they have the Paralympics we can show the

:04:28. > :04:31.world what we can do. The medal chances just keep coming for

:04:32. > :04:36.Paralympics GB. Later today we are guaranteed either a gold or silver

:04:37. > :04:41.in the wheelchair tennis as Gordon Reid takes on his doubles partner

:04:42. > :04:46.Alfie Hewett in the men's signal -- singles final. Hannah Cockroft will

:04:47. > :04:51.be in action later in the 800 metres T 34 final. We have won so many

:04:52. > :04:56.medals it is hard to keep up but don't worry, we have it covered. You

:04:57. > :05:01.can go online for a full list of GB athletes that have muddled so far.

:05:02. > :05:02.That is all from me in Rio. See you soon.
