:00:00. > :00:11.Hello guys. Martin here taking you into the weekend with your Friday

:00:12. > :00:14.afternoon Newsround. Coming up: I'm at an animal centre meeting some of

:00:15. > :00:19.the cute animals that have been affected by the UK storms.

:00:20. > :00:25.Also, the schoolboy hoping to become the youngest person ever to trek the

:00:26. > :00:27.South Pole. And the train that's packed with Pandas. This is

:00:28. > :00:37.Newsround. First animal charities are warning

:00:38. > :00:41.that recent flooding across large parts of the country has had a

:00:42. > :00:46.devastating effect on the UK's wildlife. Seals are among the

:00:47. > :00:51.animals worst affected. The RSPCA have told us their centres have been

:00:52. > :00:55.really busy taking in seal pups, whose habitats were destroyed last

:00:56. > :01:01.month. It's not just seals though. Barn owls have struggled to hunt for

:01:02. > :01:05.food and many hibernating hedgehogs have been become trapped by the

:01:06. > :01:08.water. I'm at this wildlife centre in

:01:09. > :01:12.Cheshire in the North West of England. They've had a really busy

:01:13. > :01:15.start to the year because of the UK storms, they've received a few

:01:16. > :01:19.animals who have been badly affected. I'm joined now by Lee, who

:01:20. > :01:24.is the manager here. We've got a couple of otters in here. You can

:01:25. > :01:28.see one of them in there at the moment, how old is he? About 15

:01:29. > :01:32.weeks old. With these two otters being so young, that's the problem,

:01:33. > :01:38.they haven't got their parents to look after them. Exactly. They would

:01:39. > :01:43.be reliant on their mum for a good few months. But now they're

:01:44. > :01:46.separated. We monitored them for a while, but there's no chance they

:01:47. > :01:50.would survive on their own, so they've had to come in. Is that a

:01:51. > :01:53.seal I can hear in the distance? That's one of our two seal pups.

:01:54. > :01:58.Lots of animals here. It's a busy time of year. Yeah, it -- yeah, it

:01:59. > :02:05.is. The storm has brought in the otter cups and the seals. These two

:02:06. > :02:08.will be released into the wild in September this year. But it's not

:02:09. > :02:11.just the otters, we have a couple of seals here, one in particular.

:02:12. > :02:16.They've come from the East Coast of England, battered by the storms

:02:17. > :02:19.before Christmas. He's called Kellogg's. Is he OK? Is he going to

:02:20. > :02:24.be released soon? All fingers crossed. He's one of six that came

:02:25. > :02:28.in before Christmas. All of this emare doing extremely well. He's

:02:29. > :02:32.here probably for the next few days. Then we will move them out to the

:02:33. > :02:36.bigger pools outside. He originally came from the East Coast. That's a

:02:37. > :02:40.long way away. How come here he's? Our sister facility in Norfolk,

:02:41. > :02:45.we're struggling with the sheer enoughs that were coming in. Busy

:02:46. > :02:49.time for lots of wildlife centres. Hopefully he'll be back in the wild

:02:50. > :02:53.in a couple of months. Next up, some exciting royal baby

:02:54. > :02:57.news, the Queen's granddaughter, Zara Phillips has had a baby girl.

:02:58. > :03:02.There's no name yet, but the Queen is said to be delighted at the news

:03:03. > :03:07.of a great grand child number four. It's the first child for Silver

:03:08. > :03:10.Medal-winning Zara and her husband former England rugby player Mike

:03:11. > :03:13.Tindall. For an Olympic star to some winter

:03:14. > :03:17.hopefuls. With a few weeks to go before the winter games in Sochi, on

:03:18. > :03:22.the ice things are being looking good. British ice dancers, Penny

:03:23. > :03:26.Coomes and Nick Buckland bagged bronze at the European figure

:03:27. > :03:30.skating championships in Hungary. A British schoolboy is on the brink

:03:31. > :03:38.of becoming the youngest ever person to trek the South Pole. 16-year-old

:03:39. > :03:40.Lewis Clarke has spent six weeks walking for miles in tough

:03:41. > :03:44.conditions. Yesterday he called his school in Bristol to answer

:03:45. > :03:48.questions. He said he will be relieved when he finally reaches the

:03:49. > :03:53.Pole. His family are really proud. There's a British obsession with the

:03:54. > :03:59.polar wastes and there's Everest as well. You feel like Lewis is now in

:04:00. > :04:04.that, sort of, in that group. Really proud he's my brother and that he

:04:05. > :04:08.has done all this stuff and that he's raising money for charity too.

:04:09. > :04:13.If that made you feel cold, warm yourself up on the website. Just see

:04:14. > :04:17.how hot Australia is by watching chocolate melt on the street. And

:04:18. > :04:22.check out a hot new look for Saturday morning's on CBBC.

:04:23. > :04:27.Finally, train journeys, never the most exciting way to spend your time

:04:28. > :04:34.unless your train is covered in pandas. This train in China is

:04:35. > :04:39.covered with cartoon pictures of of Pandas. The pictures are on seats,

:04:40. > :04:43.the doors and even the windows. Yuanzai is a massive superstar there

:04:44. > :04:47.with thousands of people heading to the zoo every day to see her. We

:04:48. > :04:51.posted this stunning video of the secret life of a coral reef on the

:04:52. > :04:55.Newsround website. Go and check it out. Jenny will be here in the

:04:56. > :04:58.morning with all your weekend news. Have a great weekend.
