0:00:04 > 0:00:06You're watching Newsround, with me, Ricky.

0:00:06 > 0:00:14Lots to get through today, including all of this:

0:00:17 > 0:00:20History made in English with all!

0:00:20 > 0:00:21Leicester City make history.

0:00:21 > 0:00:22Plus:

0:00:22 > 0:00:25A blast from the past, could this top band be

0:00:25 > 0:00:26getting back together?

0:00:26 > 0:00:32Keep watching.

0:00:34 > 0:00:36First, many of you will be opening your curtains

0:00:36 > 0:00:38to see snow this morning.

0:00:38 > 0:00:40But while it looks great, the weather's been

0:00:40 > 0:00:42causing disruption.

0:00:42 > 0:00:44Here's more.

0:00:44 > 0:00:46Northern Ireland and Scotland have been hit with the worst

0:00:46 > 0:00:50of the weather, with ten to 20 centimetres of snow

0:00:50 > 0:00:52falling in many areas.

0:00:52 > 0:00:56That's deep enough to cover your average cat!

0:00:56 > 0:00:59A rescue team had to be sent out last night to help stranded

0:00:59 > 0:01:02motorists on the M74 in Scotland, after many of the cars

0:01:02 > 0:01:05became stuck in the snow.

0:01:05 > 0:01:08The Met Office has issued weather warnings to be aware of snow and ice

0:01:08 > 0:01:11for parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales,

0:01:11 > 0:01:15the Midlands in southern England until lunchtime on Wednesday.

0:01:15 > 0:01:18Many roads and schools will be shut today across Britain,

0:01:18 > 0:01:22as temperatures remain around the freezing point in several areas.

0:01:22 > 0:01:25But spare a thought for kids in Siberia.

0:01:25 > 0:01:28It is an area known for its harsh, cold winters.

0:01:28 > 0:01:32But this week temperatures there have fallen dramatically to -60!

0:01:32 > 0:01:36That is cold!

0:01:36 > 0:01:39If you've woken up to a Winter Wonderland we'd love to hear

0:01:39 > 0:01:41from you and see your snowy snaps.

0:01:41 > 0:01:45Head online and join in the conversation.

0:01:45 > 0:01:47Next, want to see a bit of sporting history?

0:01:47 > 0:01:53Then take a look at this...

0:01:56 > 0:01:59That's not just any goal - it's the first goal ever to be

0:01:59 > 0:02:02awarded by the video assistant referee.

0:02:02 > 0:02:04In the new technology, an assistant ref can watch the game

0:02:04 > 0:02:08on a screen and speak to the referee on the pitch through a headset

0:02:08 > 0:02:11to give advice about decisions.

0:02:11 > 0:02:14Leicester City's goal was allowed, meaning they knocked Fleetwood

0:02:14 > 0:02:18out of the FA Cup 2-0.

0:02:18 > 0:02:21Next, to the Philippines, a country in south-east Asia.

0:02:21 > 0:02:25A huge volcano there is erupting - but it's not a usual eruption.

0:02:25 > 0:02:30Whitney's been finding out more.

0:02:30 > 0:02:36This is the most active volcano in the Philippines.

0:02:36 > 0:02:41Scientists say what is happening at the moment is called quiet eruption.

0:02:41 > 0:02:44There is no big explosion, instead the lava is flowing out

0:02:44 > 0:02:47slowly and quietly.

0:02:47 > 0:02:49It is still dangerous, but people do not always realise it

0:02:49 > 0:02:53because it is not as dramatic.

0:02:53 > 0:02:56So even though 15,000 people living nearby have left their homes,

0:02:56 > 0:03:00lots of other people still have not.

0:03:00 > 0:03:04The volcano erupted 50 times in the last 500 years,

0:03:04 > 0:03:08and lies in what is known as the ring of fire.

0:03:08 > 0:03:11That is an area around the Pacific Ocean where earthquakes

0:03:11 > 0:03:14and volcanic eruptions are common.

0:03:14 > 0:03:18But now the authorities believe things are about to get worse.

0:03:18 > 0:03:20It is expected to change from a quiet eruption

0:03:20 > 0:03:23to an explosive one.

0:03:23 > 0:03:26If that happens, no one will be allowed to stay in the area

0:03:26 > 0:03:30until the danger has passed.

0:03:30 > 0:03:32Now, kids across Japan are getting to choose a very,

0:03:32 > 0:03:35very important part of the next Olympic Games that will be

0:03:35 > 0:03:36hosted in their country.

0:03:36 > 0:03:38Martin's been finding out exactly what...

0:03:38 > 0:03:41What do most big sporting events have in common?

0:03:41 > 0:03:44Amazing athletes, superb sports?

0:03:44 > 0:03:46Well, yes.

0:03:46 > 0:03:49But also mascots, of course.

0:03:49 > 0:03:53Every primary school class in Japan is voting for the mascots they want

0:03:53 > 0:03:57for the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic games, which is to be held

0:03:57 > 0:04:00in their home country.

0:04:00 > 0:04:01So who is in the running?

0:04:01 > 0:04:04Could these be the next Olympic and Paralympic mascots,

0:04:04 > 0:04:07representing tradition and the cutting-edge tech that

0:04:07 > 0:04:10Japan is famous for?

0:04:10 > 0:04:14Or perhaps this Olympic hopeful, based on a cat in a box,

0:04:14 > 0:04:19partnered up with this Paralympic hopeful based on a dog?

0:04:19 > 0:04:23And last but not least, this fox and raccoon, red and white,

0:04:23 > 0:04:26just like the Japanese flag.

0:04:26 > 0:04:28TRANSLATION:I like the character's energetic pose

0:04:28 > 0:04:30with its clenched fist.

0:04:30 > 0:04:32I like the smiling face of the character,

0:04:32 > 0:04:34which I think is cute.

0:04:34 > 0:04:37His chubby cheeks are so cute.

0:04:37 > 0:04:39Schools across Japan have got until mid-February

0:04:39 > 0:04:41to cast their votes.

0:05:25 > 0:05:28Fans were gutted after the boys announced the group was to split.

0:05:28 > 0:05:29But things could be about to change.

0:05:29 > 0:05:33A photo of the boys all together has been posted on social media,

0:05:33 > 0:05:35which is really got tongues wagging.

0:05:35 > 0:05:38It is captioned, Family Reunion.
