:00:00. > :00:00.we will bring a new show from the home of the Scottish league

:00:00. > :00:00.champions. It's Monday morning, Ayshah here

:00:00. > :00:18.with the headlines you need to start your week. A dinosaur discovered in

:00:19. > :00:25.a school playground. Find out which planet has got smaller.

:00:26. > :00:28.First, Crimea's Parliament is to send an official request to become

:00:29. > :00:32.part of Russia after people in the region voted to leave Ukraine. More

:00:33. > :00:35.than 95% of people who voted backed joining Russia but the vote has been

:00:36. > :00:38.called illegal by the government in Ukraine's capital Kiev and by

:00:39. > :00:41.countries like the United States. President Obama says America will

:00:42. > :00:44.never recognise the result of the vote and world leaders will meet

:00:45. > :00:49.today to discuss their relationship with Russia and how they will deal

:00:50. > :00:52.with the country in the future. And for lots more information about

:00:53. > :00:57.the situation in Ukraine head online for our in depth guide.

:00:58. > :01:01.Next up, air pollution in the French capital, Paris has become so bad

:01:02. > :01:05.that half of all cars will be banned from the roads today. The government

:01:06. > :01:10.are trying to reduce the pollution levels in the city. Only cars with

:01:11. > :01:13.odd-numbered registrations will be allowed to drive, and even-numbered

:01:14. > :01:17.cars will be allowed to take to the roads tomorrow, until the situation

:01:18. > :01:20.improves. Next, they roamed the earth for 160

:01:21. > :01:25.million years, but I bet you'd never think there could be a dinosaur

:01:26. > :01:28.buried beneath your classroom floor. Well, for a group of school kids in

:01:29. > :01:35.West Sussex, that's exactly what happened. And now they've starting

:01:36. > :01:38.their own archaeological dig in the school playground. So we sent Nel to

:01:39. > :01:42.dig around. Imagine the surprise when a

:01:43. > :01:47.chemistry teacher found dinosaur remains on the school site, thought

:01:48. > :01:54.to be over 140 million years old. I didn't really realise until I came

:01:55. > :02:00.down in June, we were doing a Geo Trail with the students and found a

:02:01. > :02:06.pile of rocks with lots of fossils. That was absolutely mind blowing.

:02:07. > :02:09.Why get the kids involved? It is right on our doorstep, you couldn't

:02:10. > :02:19.ask for a better science lab. Once the discovery was made because good

:02:20. > :02:29.way to get digging. Have you found any dinosaurs? No. We have found

:02:30. > :02:33.something, Tomic about that? -- tell me about that. It has got a leaflet

:02:34. > :02:37.inside which is millions of years old. We found some fish scales,

:02:38. > :02:44.daredevil teeth and bones. -- dinosaur teeth. It is amazing we

:02:45. > :02:49.have uncovered these. Why is it discovery like this so important?

:02:50. > :02:53.The very first dinosaurs were found in a quarry near here so it is a

:02:54. > :02:58.really historically important area. The whole area has been covered up

:02:59. > :03:01.by buildings, towns, cities and unfortunately we cannot get them any

:03:02. > :03:08.more so to find them here at the school is a fantastic thing, it

:03:09. > :03:11.allows us unprecedented view. This is set to continue for a few more

:03:12. > :03:14.months and the kids at the school and the local community will be

:03:15. > :03:24.getting stuck on in the hope they will find even more treasures. Come,

:03:25. > :03:28.a long way to go. Last night saw the Sochi 2014 Winter

:03:29. > :03:30.Paralympics come to a close with a spectacular closing ceremony.

:03:31. > :03:35.Britain finished the games with six medals, the best medal haul since

:03:36. > :03:38.1984. Four of the medals were won by Jade Etherington, who carried the

:03:39. > :03:42.Union Jack at the ceremony. For lots more head over to the Newsround

:03:43. > :03:46.website and check out our gallery of pics from last night.

:03:47. > :03:49.The title race in the Premier League got very interesting after wins for

:03:50. > :03:52.Arsenal and Liverpool yesterday with both teams now only four points

:03:53. > :03:59.behind leaders Chelsea with a game in hand. Liverpool put three past

:04:00. > :04:02.Man United, Steven Gerrard scoring two penalties and missing a third

:04:03. > :04:05.before Luis Suarez sealed the win just before full-time. After the

:04:06. > :04:13.game Liverpool captain, Steven Gerrard sent out this message to his

:04:14. > :04:18.teams rivals. We are in the title race. Before

:04:19. > :04:21.today's game there was a big question hanging over us, are they

:04:22. > :04:24.good enough to beat Manchester United and prove to everybody and

:04:25. > :04:28.make a statement they are genuine title contenders, and we are, we

:04:29. > :04:30.will give it everything we have got to try and win it.

:04:31. > :04:33.And in Scotland Aberdeen beat Inverness Caledonian Thistle on

:04:34. > :04:36.penalties to win the Scottish League Cup. The trophy was Aberdeen's first

:04:37. > :04:43.piece of silverware in almost 20 years.

:04:44. > :04:46.Nasa's messenger spacecraft has discovered mercury has shrunk since

:04:47. > :04:51.it first formed. The planet has reduced in size by for another half

:04:52. > :04:57.miles from centre to the surface, with one theory is that it might

:04:58. > :04:58.have formed further out in the solar system before drifting to the sun

:04:59. > :05:00.later. That's all from me, Newsround's back

:05:01. > :05:01.right
