0:00:03 > 0:00:05Ricky here with the top stories this Sunday afternoon.

0:00:05 > 0:00:08Coming up in the next few minutes:

0:00:08 > 0:00:14The fake birds being used to attract puffins back to the Isle of Man.

0:00:14 > 0:00:19And I meet the star of a new Jungle Book film.

0:00:28 > 0:00:31First, a state of emergency has been declared in parts of the South

0:00:31 > 0:00:40American country of Ecuador.

0:00:40 > 0:00:42It's because of a powerful earthquake

0:00:42 > 0:00:43in the country last night.

0:00:43 > 0:00:45At least 77 people have been killed.

0:00:45 > 0:00:47The quake is the country's largest in almost 30 years.

0:00:47 > 0:00:49Emergency services are working hard to help hundreds of people

0:00:49 > 0:00:51who have been injured.

0:00:51 > 0:00:53Hundreds of model puffins are being used to attract the real

0:00:53 > 0:00:55birds back to the Isle of Man.

0:00:55 > 0:00:57Life-like birds and a sound system playing puffin calls have been

0:00:57 > 0:01:03placed on cliffs to encourage the birds to breed there.

0:01:03 > 0:01:06Look closely and there's something fishy about this, er,

0:01:06 > 0:01:08well, puffin, actually.

0:01:08 > 0:01:10We're planting puffins.

0:01:10 > 0:01:14The trust has set up a project to encourage puffins to nest back

0:01:14 > 0:01:17here, so today we're setting up the sound system

0:01:17 > 0:01:22and deploying the decoy puffins.

0:01:22 > 0:01:23It's hoped these models will help persuade the real

0:01:23 > 0:01:25thing to nest here.

0:01:25 > 0:01:28Puffins were last here back in the 1980s and were scared off

0:01:28 > 0:01:32because of rats eating their eggs and spreading disease.

0:01:32 > 0:01:35It's not the first time this tactic has been tried and tested.

0:01:35 > 0:01:38Two years ago we reported on a similar trial on Ramsey Island

0:01:38 > 0:01:42in Wales, where puffins were being seen on the far rocky

0:01:42 > 0:01:45outreaches of the island.

0:01:45 > 0:01:48They managed to introduce puffins after about four or five years,

0:01:48 > 0:01:52having never had puffins breed there before, so it seemed a great

0:01:52 > 0:01:56way to see if we could get them back here.

0:01:56 > 0:02:00So the team here have arrived to set up a new colony on an island that's

0:02:00 > 0:02:02only accessible by boat.

0:02:02 > 0:02:05This is a long-term project, the results of which we are unlikely

0:02:05 > 0:02:07to see straightaway.

0:02:07 > 0:02:11But if these phoney puffins do their bit, this is hopefully

0:02:11 > 0:02:16what we will see on the grassy clifftops in years to come.

0:02:16 > 0:02:18Footie now, and it's an action-packed Scottish Cup

0:02:18 > 0:02:21semifinal with Rangers and Celtic taking the tie to extra

0:02:21 > 0:02:24time, with Rangers leading 2-1.

0:02:24 > 0:02:26Kenny Miller scored the first goal in the 16th minute for Rangers,

0:02:26 > 0:02:29before Sviatchenko levelled with header from a corner

0:02:29 > 0:02:30in the second half.

0:02:30 > 0:02:34Rangers' Barry Mckay's stunner has been cancelled out by Celtic sub

0:02:34 > 0:02:37Tom Rogic and it's 2-2 with just a few minutes to go.

0:02:37 > 0:02:41The winner will play Hibs in the final.

0:02:41 > 0:02:44And the fight for the Premier League title continues with Leicester City

0:02:44 > 0:02:46playing West Ham at the moment.

0:02:46 > 0:02:50The Foxes are leading after an early goal from Jamie Vardy.

0:02:50 > 0:02:55It was the striker's 22nd league goal of the season.

0:02:55 > 0:02:57We caught up with one family of superfans before

0:02:57 > 0:03:00they headed to the match.

0:03:00 > 0:03:02Hi, I'm Ben and this is the Yarvis family.

0:03:02 > 0:03:05Here I have my dad, my two brothers and my grandad.

0:03:05 > 0:03:11My grandad has been supporting Leicester City

0:03:11 > 0:03:12since 1940.

0:03:12 > 0:03:15How do you feel about today?

0:03:15 > 0:03:16Looking forward for another win.

0:03:16 > 0:03:17Come on, Leicester!

0:03:17 > 0:03:21Come on, you Blues!

0:03:21 > 0:03:24Now, get ready to hang with the King of the Swingers,

0:03:24 > 0:03:27because The Jungle Book is back - but this time the cartoon

0:03:27 > 0:03:30classic has been brought to life with live action.

0:03:30 > 0:03:34I went to meet the 12-year-old actor who plays Mowgli.

0:03:39 > 0:03:42Now, you're 12 years old, you were ten when you started

0:03:42 > 0:03:43to film The Jungle Book.

0:03:43 > 0:03:46Being here in the UK, are you here with your family?

0:03:46 > 0:03:47We just saw your dad outside.

0:03:47 > 0:03:49Are you enjoying London?

0:03:49 > 0:03:50Mmm-hmm.

0:03:50 > 0:03:53I'm here with my mum and dad, my sister's in college.

0:03:53 > 0:03:55And you went on the London Eye yesterday?

0:03:55 > 0:03:56Mmm-hmm.

0:03:56 > 0:03:57What was that like?

0:03:57 > 0:03:58Lots of fun, it was crazy.

0:03:58 > 0:04:01Like, when we were all the way on top I took a panorama,

0:04:01 > 0:04:04all I got was, like, the guys in front of me.

0:04:04 > 0:04:05It was kind of funny.

0:04:05 > 0:04:08Now, we've been asking for kids to send in questions all week...

0:04:08 > 0:04:09Oh, that's cool.

0:04:09 > 0:04:11And we've got loads.

0:04:11 > 0:04:14So I'm going to kick off with Emily, who's nine.

0:04:14 > 0:04:15She's from Stevenage.

0:04:15 > 0:04:17She says, "Did you like getting muddy on set?"

0:04:17 > 0:04:19That was my worst favourite part, actually.

0:04:19 > 0:04:20Was it?

0:04:20 > 0:04:20Yes.

0:04:20 > 0:04:21Good job, Emily!

0:04:21 > 0:04:25It would dry all over my skin and they would have to spritz it

0:04:25 > 0:04:28with cold water for it to get all, like, muddy again, and it was really

0:04:28 > 0:04:29itchy and disgusting.

0:04:29 > 0:04:31I didn't like it at all.

0:04:31 > 0:04:33Julia says, "What's it like acting when the other

0:04:33 > 0:04:34characters are all animated?"

0:04:34 > 0:04:36Because there's a lot of green screen,

0:04:36 > 0:04:37isn't there?

0:04:37 > 0:04:38Yes.

0:04:38 > 0:04:39You don't actually get to act

0:04:39 > 0:04:40with these animals?

0:04:40 > 0:04:41Yes.

0:04:41 > 0:04:44So it was actually just puppets that I was interacting with,

0:04:44 > 0:04:46and that made it very easy for me.

0:04:46 > 0:04:48At least it wasn't like nothing or a tennis ball.

0:04:48 > 0:04:50And so that made it, like, very...

0:04:50 > 0:04:51And it was actually fun.

0:04:51 > 0:04:53Talking to puppets and stuff all day.

0:04:53 > 0:04:55Did the puppets look, like, cool and realistic?

0:04:55 > 0:04:56Yeah, they did.

0:04:56 > 0:04:58And I just, like, imagined that it was a bear or

0:04:58 > 0:04:59a panther or a tiger.

0:04:59 > 0:05:02Rebecca, who is 12, says, "What was the most amazing

0:05:02 > 0:05:04thing about filming the new Jungle Book film?"

0:05:04 > 0:05:05Apart from the mud!

0:05:05 > 0:05:08I really liked going in the water tank with Baloo,

0:05:08 > 0:05:10because it was a real water tank and I was actually

0:05:10 > 0:05:12swimming, and it was cool.

0:05:12 > 0:05:14It was just a lump of Styrofoam with the brown carpet

0:05:14 > 0:05:16on top that I was, just, like, swimming with.

0:05:16 > 0:05:18And John got into the water...

0:05:18 > 0:05:20You had to stroke the brown carpet?

0:05:20 > 0:05:20Yeah!

0:05:20 > 0:05:23And John got into the water and there's this one scene

0:05:23 > 0:05:26when Baloo splashes me, so he had a hose in his back pocket

0:05:26 > 0:05:30and just took me out and hosed me, and I didn't know he was going to do

0:05:30 > 0:05:33that, and I got the perfect reaction and they used

0:05:33 > 0:05:34that in the film.

0:05:34 > 0:05:35So cool.

0:05:35 > 0:05:37Well, listen, thank you very much for talking to Newsround.

0:05:37 > 0:05:38It's lovely to meet you.

0:05:38 > 0:05:39Awesome.

0:05:48 > 0:05:50a massive role on Neighbours.

0:05:50 > 0:05:52That's all from the weekend team.
