0:00:11 > 0:00:13Hi, I'm Ayshah, welcome to Newsround.

0:00:13 > 0:00:14Some sad news first this morning.

0:00:14 > 0:00:17Tributes have been paid to a politician who's died.

0:00:17 > 0:00:19Jo Cox, who was a Member of Parliament, was killed

0:00:19 > 0:00:22after an attack yesterday near where she was working

0:00:22 > 0:00:25in Birstall in West Yorkshire.

0:00:25 > 0:00:28Vigils have been held to remember her and many people have

0:00:28 > 0:00:30been giving their tributes, including the Prime

0:00:30 > 0:00:33Minister David Cameron.

0:00:33 > 0:00:36We've lost a great star.

0:00:36 > 0:00:41She was an MP, a great campaigning MP with huge compassion,

0:00:41 > 0:00:44with a big heart, and people are going to be very,

0:00:44 > 0:00:48very sad about what has happened.

0:00:48 > 0:00:51I thought she was very beautiful.

0:00:51 > 0:00:56And I think she did the right job to, I think she did the right

0:00:56 > 0:00:58thing to pick that job.

0:00:58 > 0:01:01Well, the BBC's John Maguire is in Birstall this morning

0:01:01 > 0:01:05and he sent Newsround this report.

0:01:05 > 0:01:08This is the village of Birstall, this is where the MP Jo Cox

0:01:08 > 0:01:12was about to take a constituency surgery yesterday which is something

0:01:12 > 0:01:14MPs do every week.

0:01:14 > 0:01:18They meet, sit down with local people who will have voted for them,

0:01:18 > 0:01:20some of course may not have voted for them.

0:01:20 > 0:01:24This, some of the floral tributes that have been laid by people.

0:01:24 > 0:01:28And they get a very good idea of the type of work she did.

0:01:28 > 0:01:32She worked hard for women's causes, for refugees, she had also

0:01:32 > 0:01:35been a charity worker, working around the world in some

0:01:35 > 0:01:37war-torn countries in previous years.

0:01:37 > 0:01:41And many of the tribute and comments there reflect that.

0:01:41 > 0:01:44What's very clear is that she was very respected and very loved

0:01:44 > 0:01:48in her local constituency.

0:01:48 > 0:01:49Thanks, John.

0:01:49 > 0:01:52Now it's important to remember that these events are extremely rare.

0:01:52 > 0:01:56And if anything you see or hear in the news does upset you,

0:01:56 > 0:02:01then go to Newsround online for advice on what you should do.

0:02:01 > 0:02:03In other news, two home nations were celebrating

0:02:03 > 0:02:05their success at the Euros.

0:02:05 > 0:02:07First, Northern Ireland beat Ukraine, 2-0.

0:02:07 > 0:02:12Naz was in Northern Ireland to watch the game.

0:02:15 > 0:02:18As soon as it kicked off, my heart was racing.

0:02:18 > 0:02:21Here he is, Conor Washington, the unknown quantity, if you like.

0:02:21 > 0:02:25The first half, it was very nerve wracking.

0:02:27 > 0:02:31Ukraine were putting a lot of effort in and getting a lot of chances.

0:02:31 > 0:02:34It got a bit frustrating at times because we got so close to the net

0:02:34 > 0:02:37and just didn't get any goals because the goalkeepers

0:02:37 > 0:02:41were playing so good.

0:02:43 > 0:02:47At 49 minutes through, McAuley, there was a breakthrough goal,

0:02:47 > 0:02:49he just headed it straight into the back of the net.

0:02:49 > 0:02:51And that's it from McAuley.

0:02:51 > 0:02:57Had such good control, just amazing.

0:03:00 > 0:03:03These are about the worst conditions I can remember seeing

0:03:03 > 0:03:05in tournament football.

0:03:05 > 0:03:07Suddenly the ref blew his whistle and all the players

0:03:07 > 0:03:09started going off.

0:03:09 > 0:03:12And we were all quite confused until we saw the hail stones

0:03:12 > 0:03:13and it was quite bad.

0:03:13 > 0:03:17And then McGinn scored the last goal, ten seconds to go.

0:03:26 > 0:03:28Everyone was just screaming.

0:03:28 > 0:03:33Whenever the full-time whistle had gone, they went absolutely cuckoo.

0:03:33 > 0:03:391-0 would have been good, but 2-0, that's such a good feeling.

0:03:39 > 0:03:42Northern Ireland, I think, will get into the last 16.

0:03:42 > 0:03:45To win the Euros, it would just be amazing.

0:03:45 > 0:03:47It would be like a dream come true.

0:03:47 > 0:03:49Just everyone would go nuts.

0:03:49 > 0:03:52I'd be speechless.

0:03:52 > 0:03:57Like, it's the second smallest country in the competition.

0:03:57 > 0:04:01Like, for them to win it would be incredible.

0:04:01 > 0:04:04If they win, oh, my, I went crazy when they won one match.

0:04:04 > 0:04:08If they won the Euros, I don't know what I'd be like.

0:04:08 > 0:04:10I might faint.

0:04:10 > 0:04:12Northern Ireland!

0:04:12 > 0:04:14Northern Ireland!

0:04:14 > 0:04:17And in the other big match, England came out on top

0:04:17 > 0:04:18with a 2-1 win over Wales.

0:04:18 > 0:04:22I was on the English/Welsh border with fans of both teams who watched

0:04:22 > 0:04:23the match at school.

0:04:23 > 0:04:24Here's what they thought.

0:04:24 > 0:04:26I think it went really well for England.

0:04:26 > 0:04:29We were dominant in the first half and the second half.

0:04:29 > 0:04:30We were overall the best team in there.

0:04:30 > 0:04:33It was a good match, England were a good side

0:04:33 > 0:04:34but we should have drawn.

0:04:34 > 0:04:36I think it was amazing, I think everything about

0:04:36 > 0:04:37it fitted perfectly.

0:04:37 > 0:04:39Horrendous, knowing we had gone 2-1 down and there

0:04:39 > 0:04:40was nothing we could do.

0:04:40 > 0:04:43Tried to put a late header in but it didn't work.

0:04:43 > 0:04:46In the second half we were just on another level.

0:04:46 > 0:04:49Daniel Sturridge, Marcus Rashford played well on his debut.

0:04:49 > 0:04:54So I think England were by far the best team.

0:04:54 > 0:04:55That's all from me for now.

0:04:55 > 0:04:56I'll be back in half an hour.
