:05:10. > :05:15.When Tim Peake is on board and ready to return to Earth,
:05:16. > :05:17.the Soyuz spacecraft will fire its main rockets
:05:18. > :05:24.at a safe distance from the ISS and the journey home begins.
:05:25. > :05:27.At key stages of the descent, the spacecraft will start to get rid
:05:28. > :05:37.It's important that the module is as light as possible for landing,
:05:38. > :05:41.because the lighter it is, the slower the descent will be.
:05:42. > :05:44.Once they are close to Earth, the Soyuz will release parachutes
:05:45. > :05:47.to slow it down even more and get the spacecraft into the correct
:05:48. > :05:56.Six engines then fire on the underside of the capsule.
:05:57. > :05:58.This acts to cushion the craft just before it thuds down
:05:59. > :06:02.on the Kazakh steppe, which looks quite dramatic, but it's
:06:03. > :06:10.A recovery and rescue team then arrives to meet the crew members
