0:00:24 > 0:00:28Jess!
0:00:28 > 0:00:31It all came down a nerve-wracking final last night, but it was
0:00:31 > 0:00:33Jess Folley who smashed Beyonce's Love On Top, dazzling
0:00:33 > 0:00:36the judges and taking the prize, with Will.i.am joking she should
0:00:36 > 0:00:39take on the grown-ups in the adult version of the show.
0:00:39 > 0:00:41After her big win, Jess thanked her coach Pixie Lott
0:00:41 > 0:00:43and called her fellow contestants her "best friends".
0:00:43 > 0:00:45And massive news for Whovians this morning,
0:00:45 > 0:00:47as the new Doctor has been revealed.
0:00:47 > 0:00:51Watch this.
0:00:51 > 0:00:53Oh, my God, it's a girl!
0:00:53 > 0:00:57It's a woman!
0:00:57 > 0:00:58It's Jodie!
0:00:58 > 0:00:59The Doctor...
0:00:59 > 0:01:00I might cry!
0:01:00 > 0:01:03..is a woman!
0:01:03 > 0:01:05I cannot believe it, they did it!
0:01:05 > 0:01:06Oh, my God, cool!
0:01:06 > 0:01:09I'm shocked still.
0:01:09 > 0:01:10What a good choice.
0:01:10 > 0:01:13For me, as a girl, this is something that I never
0:01:13 > 0:01:14thought was possible, ever.
0:01:14 > 0:01:16There are always doubts when there's a new Doctor.
0:01:16 > 0:01:18It's a brilliant actor, Jodie Whitaker's a brilliant actor.
0:01:18 > 0:01:21It's all going to be fine, but what's interesting is it's
0:01:21 > 0:01:31all going to be very different.
0:01:33 > 0:01:36That's right, Jodie Whitaker has been announced as the 13th
0:01:36 > 0:01:39Time Lord, in a trailer at the end of the Wimbledon men's single final.
0:01:39 > 0:01:41Jodie is the first woman to play the character.
0:01:41 > 0:01:43She'll start when the Doctor regenerates
0:01:43 > 0:01:44in the Christmas special.
0:01:44 > 0:01:47And we want to hear from you - what do you think of
0:01:47 > 0:01:48the new Doctor and why?
0:01:48 > 0:01:50What are you expecting from the new Time Lord?
0:01:50 > 0:01:53Head to Newsround online and let us know.
0:01:53 > 0:01:54Next up we're talking Sats.
0:01:54 > 0:01:57For loads of you they're over, but that hasn't stopped a huge row
0:01:57 > 0:01:59over the way they've been marked.
0:01:59 > 0:02:00Ricky's been investiagting.
0:02:00 > 0:02:04Two tests with the same question and the same answer,
0:02:04 > 0:02:12but one has been marked right and the other is wrong.
0:02:12 > 0:02:16That was a real question in a recent Sats test
0:02:16 > 0:02:18for 10 to 11-year-olds, but it's the way these questions
0:02:18 > 0:02:21have been marked that's got a lot of people scratching their heads.
0:02:21 > 0:02:25So we've got some examples right here, and we want these guys to see
0:02:25 > 0:02:29if they can tell what's right and what's wrong.
0:02:29 > 0:02:32I think it's right because they did put the letters
0:02:32 > 0:02:33in the correct place.
0:02:33 > 0:02:35I think it's right.
0:02:35 > 0:02:44It's wrong.
0:02:44 > 0:02:47Well, I think the commas are inserted in the right place
0:02:47 > 0:02:49but I think it looks a bit dodgy.
0:02:49 > 0:02:55So should that matter, the way it goes?
0:02:55 > 0:02:58No, because the student knows how to do it, but they're just
0:02:58 > 0:03:00being told off for not doing it right.
0:03:00 > 0:03:03Well, here's the problem.
0:03:03 > 0:03:10Although children answered the right question, some failed to get a mark
0:03:10 > 0:03:12because of the shape of their semicolon and commas.
0:03:12 > 0:03:15Others got marked down for not putting their answer inside a box,
0:03:15 > 0:03:18even though it didn't tell you you would get marked down
0:03:18 > 0:03:19if you went outside the lines.
0:03:19 > 0:03:25So, is this fair?
0:03:25 > 0:03:31I think it's unfair because the person who has written
0:03:31 > 0:03:34the comma like that could have got 99, which is one mark
0:03:34 > 0:03:35under the pass mark 100.
0:03:35 > 0:03:37I think this is the wrong way to test people.
0:03:37 > 0:03:40They should have told them then they could have known
0:03:40 > 0:03:42that they should have done it right.
0:03:42 > 0:03:44If you can see a semicolon, then you can see a semicolon.
0:03:44 > 0:03:47It tells you to put it in the right place,
0:03:47 > 0:03:49which is what these people have done, but they've still lost
0:03:49 > 0:03:52the mark even though they've done the question as it said.
0:03:52 > 0:03:55Some teachers have spoken out on social media, saying they weren't
0:03:55 > 0:03:56told about the marking rules.
0:03:56 > 0:03:59So we got in touch with the people who come up with the test,
0:03:59 > 0:04:01as well as the Department for Education.
0:04:01 > 0:04:03They're the people in Government in charge of schools.
0:04:03 > 0:04:05The Government told Newsround that they wanted to make sure
0:04:05 > 0:04:08children were using and forming punctuation correctly and had given
0:04:08 > 0:04:11advice to people marking it to make sure it was fair.
0:04:11 > 0:04:14And Pearson, the company in charge of marking your tests,
0:04:14 > 0:04:17told us that mistakes in marking are rare but they want teachers
0:04:17 > 0:04:22who are worried to get in touch so they can look into it.
0:04:22 > 0:04:25It's been an incredible two weeks of tennis.
0:04:25 > 0:04:27But Wimbledon came to a close for another year -
0:04:27 > 0:04:29and what a day for Roger Federer!
0:04:29 > 0:04:32He became the first man ever to win Wimbledon eight times,
0:04:32 > 0:04:34beating Marin Cilic from Croatia in the men's singles final.
0:04:34 > 0:04:37He won in straight sets - the first man to win the title
0:04:37 > 0:04:40without dropping a set in 41 years!
0:04:40 > 0:04:42And in the mixed doubles, it was Jamie Murray and his partner
0:04:42 > 0:04:46Martina Hingis who came out on top.
0:04:46 > 0:04:49They beat fellow British player Heather Watson
0:04:49 > 0:04:51and her partner Henri Kontinen, who were the defending
0:04:51 > 0:04:54champions, in straight sets.
0:04:54 > 0:04:58That's all from me, Newsround's back right here in about half an hour.
