0:00:34 > 0:00:35Watch this...

0:00:35 > 0:00:36The new Doctor is a girl!

0:00:36 > 0:00:37It's a woman!

0:00:37 > 0:00:38It's Jodie Whittaker!

0:00:38 > 0:00:39It's Jodie!

0:00:39 > 0:00:40The Doctor...

0:00:40 > 0:00:41I might cry!

0:00:41 > 0:00:43..is a woman!

0:00:43 > 0:00:47I cannot believe it, they did it!

0:00:47 > 0:00:48Oh, my God, cool!

0:00:48 > 0:00:50I'm shocked still.

0:00:50 > 0:00:52What a good choice.

0:00:52 > 0:00:55For me, as a girl, this is something that I never

0:00:55 > 0:00:56thought was possible, ever.

0:00:56 > 0:00:58There are always doubts when there's a new Doctor.

0:00:58 > 0:01:02It's a brilliant actor, Jodie Whittaker's a brilliant actor.

0:01:02 > 0:01:05It's all going to be fine, but what's interesting is it's

0:01:05 > 0:01:13all going to be very different.

0:01:13 > 0:01:23That's right, Jodie Whittaker has been announced as the 13th

0:01:25 > 0:01:27Time Lord, in a trailer yesterday.

0:01:27 > 0:01:29Jodie is the first woman to play the character.

0:01:29 > 0:01:31She'll start when the Doctor regenerates in

0:01:31 > 0:01:32the Christmas special.

0:01:32 > 0:01:35And we want to hear from you - what do you think of

0:01:35 > 0:01:36the new Doctor and why?

0:01:36 > 0:01:38What are you expecting from the new Time Lord?

0:01:38 > 0:01:40Head to Newsround online and let us know.

0:01:40 > 0:01:43And the first ever winner of The Voice Kids is...

0:01:43 > 0:01:44Jess!

0:01:44 > 0:01:46That's right, it was Jess Folley who took

0:01:46 > 0:01:47the prize in last night's final.

0:01:47 > 0:01:49She smashed her version of Beyonce's Love On Top

0:01:49 > 0:01:52in a performance so good Will.i.am even joked she should take

0:01:52 > 0:01:54on the grown-ups in the adult version of the show.

0:01:54 > 0:01:56After her big win, Jess thanked her coach Pixie Lott,

0:01:56 > 0:02:02and called her fellow contestants her "best friends".

0:02:02 > 0:02:10Next up we're talking Sats.

0:02:10 > 0:02:13For loads of you they're over, but now there's a huge row

0:02:13 > 0:02:14over the way they've been marked.

0:02:14 > 0:02:16Ricky's been investiagting.

0:02:16 > 0:02:18Two tests with the same question and the same answer,

0:02:18 > 0:02:21but one has been marked right and the other is wrong.

0:02:21 > 0:02:24That was a real question in a recent Sats test for 10 to 11-year-olds,

0:02:24 > 0:02:27but it's the way these questions have been marked that's got a lot

0:02:27 > 0:02:28of people scratching their heads.

0:02:28 > 0:02:32So we've got some examples right here, and we want these guys to see

0:02:32 > 0:02:38if they can tell what's right and what's wrong.

0:02:38 > 0:02:40I think it's right because they did put the letters

0:02:40 > 0:02:45in the correct place.

0:02:45 > 0:02:46I think it's right.

0:02:46 > 0:02:50It's wrong.

0:02:50 > 0:02:53Well, I think the commas are inserted in the right place

0:02:53 > 0:02:55but I think it looks a bit dodgy.

0:02:55 > 0:02:57So should that matter, the way it goes?

0:02:57 > 0:03:00No, because the student knows how to do it, but they're just

0:03:00 > 0:03:02being told off for not doing it right.

0:03:02 > 0:03:06Well, here's the problem.

0:03:06 > 0:03:09Although children answered the right question, some failed to get a mark

0:03:09 > 0:03:12because of the shape of their semicolon and commas.

0:03:12 > 0:03:14Others got marked down for not putting their answer inside a box,

0:03:14 > 0:03:17even though it didn't tell you you would get marked down

0:03:17 > 0:03:22if you went outside the lines.

0:03:22 > 0:03:24So, is this fair?

0:03:24 > 0:03:27I think it's unfair because the person who has written

0:03:27 > 0:03:30the comma like that could have got 99, which is one mark

0:03:30 > 0:03:31under the pass mark 100.

0:03:31 > 0:03:35I think this is the wrong way to test people.

0:03:35 > 0:03:37They should have told them then they could have known

0:03:37 > 0:03:39that they should have done it right.

0:03:39 > 0:03:43If you can see a semicolon, then you can see a semicolon.

0:03:43 > 0:03:46It tells you to put it in the right place,

0:03:46 > 0:03:52which is what these people have done, but they've still lost

0:03:52 > 0:03:54the mark even though they've done the question as it said.

0:03:54 > 0:03:57Some teachers have spoken out on social media,

0:03:57 > 0:04:00saying they weren't told about the marking rules.

0:04:00 > 0:04:04So we got in touch with the people who come up with the test,

0:04:04 > 0:04:07as well as the Department for Education.

0:04:07 > 0:04:09They're the people in Government in charge of schools.

0:04:09 > 0:04:11The Government told Newsround that they wanted to make sure

0:04:11 > 0:04:14children were using and forming punctuation correctly and had given

0:04:14 > 0:04:19advice to people marking it to make sure it was fair.

0:04:19 > 0:04:22And Pearson, the company in charge of marking your tests,

0:04:22 > 0:04:25told us that mistakes in marking are rare but they want teachers

0:04:25 > 0:04:30who are worried to get in touch so they can look into it.

0:04:30 > 0:04:32It's been an incredible two weeks, but Wimbledon has come

0:04:32 > 0:04:36to a close for another year - and what a day for Roger Federer!

0:04:36 > 0:04:39He's now the first man ever to win Wimbledon eight times,

0:04:39 > 0:04:43beating Marin Cilic in the men's singles final.

0:04:43 > 0:04:44He won in straight sets - the first man to win the title

0:04:48 > 0:04:52And it was the battle of the Brits over in the mixed doubles,

0:04:52 > 0:04:54with Heather Watson and Jamie Murray up against each other.

0:04:54 > 0:04:57But it was Murray and his partner Martina Hingis who came out on top.

0:04:57 > 0:05:00They beat Heather and her partner Henri Kontinen in straight sets.

0:05:00 > 0:05:02Britain's Jordanne Whiley and partner Yui Kamiji took

0:05:02 > 0:05:04a fourth successive Wimbledon women's wheelchair doubles title.

0:05:04 > 0:05:05How's this for a celebration?

0:05:05 > 0:05:07Lewis Hamilton won the British Grand Prix at Silverstone

0:05:07 > 0:05:08for a record-equalling fifth time.

0:05:08 > 0:05:10The historic win means he's within a point

0:05:10 > 0:05:15of Sebastien Vettel halfway through the Formula One season.

0:05:15 > 0:05:18Jonnie Peacock stormed to victory in the T44 100m final at the World

0:05:18 > 0:05:19Para-athletics Championships in London, to claim

0:05:19 > 0:05:24Britain's eighth gold medal.

0:05:24 > 0:05:26The two-time Paralympic champion finished in 10.75 seconds

0:05:26 > 0:05:32for his second world title.

0:05:32 > 0:05:35And in the Tour de France yesterday, Britain's Chris Froome didn't let

0:05:35 > 0:05:37a puncture stop him!

0:05:37 > 0:05:40He swapped his back wheel for a new one in just 30 seconds!

0:05:40 > 0:05:41And recovered brilliantly to defend his slim lead

0:05:41 > 0:05:45in stage 15 of the race.

0:05:45 > 0:05:46That's all from the team this morning, Newsround's

0:05:46 > 0:05:48back right here at 4.20pm.

0:05:48 > 0:05:54Have a brilliant day.

0:06:10 > 0:06:12Roy gets stuck in a teapot in Little Roy next. Karim, it reminds me

0:06:12 > 0:06:15of the time I got stuck in a kennel and mistaken for a dog!

0:06:15 > 0:06:17Ha-ha!

0:06:17 > 0:06:19But you are a dog. What?
