0:00:20 > 0:00:30This is Newsround.

0:00:37 > 0:00:39People living in the north of Scotland are trying

0:00:39 > 0:00:41to rebuild their lives after massive floods devastated homes,

0:00:41 > 0:00:42businesses and schools.

0:00:42 > 0:00:45Martin has been to one of the worst affected areas to see how

0:00:45 > 0:00:46people there are coping.

0:00:46 > 0:00:49Finally, the locals here in the small village of Braemar

0:00:49 > 0:00:51in northeast Scotland had something to cheer about.

0:00:51 > 0:01:00The Invercauld Bridge has been reopened.

0:01:00 > 0:01:03It may not seem like a big deal, but just a few weeks ago,

0:01:03 > 0:01:06everyone living here got a bit of a shock.

0:01:06 > 0:01:08December was the wettest month ever recorded in Scotland.

0:01:08 > 0:01:10Constant, heavy rain caused the River Dee to burst its banks.

0:01:10 > 0:01:12This was the damage left behind.

0:01:12 > 0:01:15These vehicles passing me right now are amongst the first to go over

0:01:15 > 0:01:17the bridge since it was closed.

0:01:17 > 0:01:19It's not a surprise that it's the people who have been

0:01:19 > 0:01:21the worst affected by the floods here.

0:01:21 > 0:01:25Before the floods we got one bus, it took an hour to get to school.

0:01:25 > 0:01:30On

0:01:30 > 0:01:30On and

0:01:30 > 0:01:31On and on

0:01:31 > 0:01:38and on It's kind of exciting to see the water that high,

0:01:38 > 0:01:41but after you actually realise the power of water.

0:01:41 > 0:01:45It's quite dangerous.

0:01:45 > 0:01:49While the party is well and truly underway in Braemar,

0:01:49 > 0:01:52people living in Ballater, just 16 miles down the road,

0:01:52 > 0:01:54are still living without homes.

0:01:54 > 0:01:59So is this really a time for celebration?

0:01:59 > 0:02:01Just because we're celebrating an opening of the bridge,

0:02:01 > 0:02:04doesn't mean to say we're not still working really hard to help

0:02:04 > 0:02:05people in other parts.

0:02:05 > 0:02:08There's an awful lot of work to do and we're doing it

0:02:08 > 0:02:09as quickly as we can.

0:02:09 > 0:02:12I've decided to meet some kids in the worst-hit areas to see

0:02:12 > 0:02:13how they're coping.

0:02:13 > 0:02:16I was in my bed when it happened.

0:02:16 > 0:02:18You could see down the bottom to the caravan park,

0:02:18 > 0:02:21and you could see caravans going past.

0:02:21 > 0:02:22It was quite scary.

0:02:22 > 0:02:25One of my friends lives across from the River Dee.

0:02:25 > 0:02:28His house was completely flooded and he had to get airlifted.

0:02:28 > 0:02:31Everyone has been supportive of one another, and those

0:02:31 > 0:02:35who weren't affected have given up a lot of their stuff.

0:02:35 > 0:02:39There was a big tent full of food that flood victims could just

0:02:39 > 0:02:41go and take as much as they needed.

0:02:41 > 0:02:43We went there a few times.

0:02:43 > 0:02:46People have been very helpful.

0:02:46 > 0:02:49We see a lot of people moving stuff out their houses,

0:02:49 > 0:02:52or just being helpful to people.

0:02:52 > 0:02:54It's good to see people come together

0:02:54 > 0:02:56and help each other.

0:02:56 > 0:02:59To Mexico in North America, and the Colima volcano has

0:02:59 > 0:03:01erupted once again.

0:03:01 > 0:03:03Ash was thrown nearly 3000 metres into the air.

0:03:03 > 0:03:07People living nearby did not have leave their homes this time.

0:03:07 > 0:03:10It's also called the fire volcano and it's been very active

0:03:10 > 0:03:13in the past few months.

0:03:13 > 0:03:16To football now, and Arsenal stay top of the Premier League

0:03:16 > 0:03:19and

0:03:19 > 0:03:20after a goalless draw with Stoke.

0:03:20 > 0:03:23Wayne Rooney scored a late goal against Liverpool to give

0:03:23 > 0:03:24Manchester United a much-needed win.

0:03:24 > 0:03:27It's the first goal that Rooney's scored at Anfield since 2005.

0:03:27 > 0:03:32United manager Louis Van Gaal was really pleased with his team.

0:03:32 > 0:03:35We have made a very good start in 2016.

0:03:35 > 0:03:42To beat Liverpool for the second time in a row, it's marvellous.

0:03:42 > 0:03:46It shall give a big boost to the players, to the fans.

0:03:46 > 0:03:53I hope that we shall continue with winning.

0:03:53 > 0:03:56Take a look at this tiny baby penguin born at a zoo in America.

0:03:56 > 0:04:00The pygmy blue penguin is only a few days old and was shown off

0:04:00 > 0:04:01at Cinicinnati Zoo in Ohio.

0:04:01 > 0:04:04The ball of brown fuzz is being cared for and fed

0:04:04 > 0:04:05by staff at the zoo.

0:04:05 > 0:04:08It's too young to know whether it's a boy or a girl.

0:04:08 > 0:04:10This is Bowie.

0:04:10 > 0:04:12Bowie is just a couple of days old.

0:04:12 > 0:04:14Just now starting to open his or her eyes -

0:04:14 > 0:04:17we don't know if it's a boy or girl yet.

0:04:17 > 0:04:19But it is a little penguin, the smallest penguin species

0:04:19 > 0:04:21on the planet.

0:04:21 > 0:04:24And we are lucky enough to have the largest

0:04:24 > 0:04:25colony in North America of these guys.

0:04:25 > 0:04:28We've been pretty lucky and doing pretty good with these guys

0:04:28 > 0:04:31as a whole, as a species.

0:04:31 > 0:04:34A group of dogs and their owners have stretched and twisted their way
