0:00:04 > 0:00:07Morning, all.

0:00:07 > 0:00:08Leah here with today's top Newsround.

0:00:08 > 0:00:09Coming up:

0:00:09 > 0:00:14The black swans who've finally laid some eggs in Devon.

0:00:14 > 0:00:24The weeds taking over homes in rural Australia.

0:00:25 > 0:00:28First, a lot of you might be sitting next to your brothers

0:00:28 > 0:00:31and sisters right now having breakfast but can

0:00:31 > 0:00:31you imagine not having any at all because it wasn't allowed

0:00:33 > 0:00:37in the country where you live?

0:00:37 > 0:00:39Well, that's what life has been like in China

0:00:39 > 0:00:45for the past 40 years - but now there's a big change.

0:00:45 > 0:00:49All these schoolkids in China have something pretty big in common,

0:00:49 > 0:00:52they are all only children.

0:00:52 > 0:00:55For some of them that might change soon.

0:00:55 > 0:00:57For the past 40 years the Chinese Government have only

0:00:57 > 0:01:02allowed couples to have one child.

0:01:02 > 0:01:04They made the decision because the number of the people

0:01:04 > 0:01:07living in the country was growing too quickly and families were having

0:01:07 > 0:01:09lots of children.

0:01:09 > 0:01:11Because the country was poorer back then, the Government was worried

0:01:11 > 0:01:14there would not be enough food to go around.

0:01:14 > 0:01:17On New Year's Day this year the law changed.

0:01:17 > 0:01:19Families are now allowed to have a second baby

0:01:19 > 0:01:22if they want to.

0:01:22 > 0:01:24Lee Ying is 12 years old and now thinking

0:01:24 > 0:01:29about whether she will have a brother or sister.

0:01:29 > 0:01:31TRANSLATION: There are three people in my family.

0:01:31 > 0:01:35That is my father, mother and me.

0:01:35 > 0:01:40I am a so-called one child in the family.

0:01:40 > 0:01:43Most of my friends and classmates around me are like me,

0:01:43 > 0:01:46they are the only child in their families.

0:01:46 > 0:01:50I feel pretty good to be the only child in the family but personally

0:01:50 > 0:01:53I would like to have a brother.

0:01:53 > 0:01:56The Government changed the law because there were a lot of elderly

0:01:56 > 0:01:59people in China and they were worried they would not be enough

0:01:59 > 0:02:01younger people to do all the jobs in the future.

0:02:01 > 0:02:04Now lots of mums and dads are thinking about having

0:02:04 > 0:02:07a second child.

0:02:07 > 0:02:10Because me and my husband were single kids in family

0:02:10 > 0:02:12and we want more kids to have the experience of having

0:02:12 > 0:02:19a brother and sister.

0:02:19 > 0:02:22For so many children in China they might have a brother or sister

0:02:22 > 0:02:24to share things with in the future.

0:02:24 > 0:02:26And you can watch Brothers and Sisters, A Newsround

0:02:26 > 0:02:27special online now.

0:02:27 > 0:02:29And that's where you'll also find Ryan's story

0:02:29 > 0:02:31about being an only child.

0:02:31 > 0:02:35You can check out the presenters' brothers and sisters photo gallery.

0:02:35 > 0:02:37And see five-year-old Fabrizio meeting his new baby brother

0:02:37 > 0:02:42for the first time.

0:02:42 > 0:02:44Now these office chairs can tidy themselves away after a meeting

0:02:44 > 0:02:46when people clap their hands.

0:02:46 > 0:02:48Cameras placed around the office tell the chairs where

0:02:48 > 0:02:51they are so they can gather around tables.

0:02:51 > 0:02:54They were developed by car giant Nissan.

0:02:54 > 0:02:57There's excitement in Dawlish in Devon after a pair of the town's

0:02:57 > 0:02:59famous black swans laid eggs.

0:02:59 > 0:03:03The birds are in danger of dying out because there were no females

0:03:03 > 0:03:05until two were recently given to the town.

0:03:05 > 0:03:09The eggs are due to hatch in March.

0:03:09 > 0:03:11I think it's amazing.

0:03:11 > 0:03:14It would be nice to have a good addition.

0:03:14 > 0:03:16I try and sneak down to see them every

0:03:16 > 0:03:20day, just in case I can be the first person to see them start hatching.

0:03:20 > 0:03:22I know lots of other people do that as well.

0:03:22 > 0:03:27I cannot wait.

0:03:27 > 0:03:29Now, this dog didn't want to eat its dinner

0:03:29 > 0:03:31when it was poorly so the vet

0:03:31 > 0:03:33that was treating it decided to get inside it's

0:03:33 > 0:03:35cage and eat his own dinner with the dog.

0:03:35 > 0:03:37Dr Andy Mathis said the dog felt much

0:03:37 > 0:03:40more comfortable and soon started

0:03:40 > 0:03:43eating again at the care centre in Georgia in the US.

0:03:43 > 0:03:45Would you eat bent or ugly vegetables?

0:03:45 > 0:03:49Well, some shoppers prefer their fruit and veg to be perfect

0:03:49 > 0:03:51Each year millions of tonnes of fresh produce

0:03:51 > 0:03:52never makes it onto the shelves.

0:03:52 > 0:03:53But a trial by one supermarket found

0:03:53 > 0:03:56that lots of customers are now happy to buy lumpy,

0:03:56 > 0:03:59and curved vegetables.

0:03:59 > 0:04:02I think it is a brilliant idea because a lot of these are getting

0:04:02 > 0:04:05thrown away.

0:04:05 > 0:04:06But they look funny.

0:04:06 > 0:04:07Would you eat it?

0:04:07 > 0:04:08No.

0:04:08 > 0:04:10No.

0:04:10 > 0:04:12Definitely yes.

0:04:12 > 0:04:19I think there is a character to it.

0:04:19 > 0:04:23So we want to know if you'd eat ugly veg or do you prefer fruits

0:04:23 > 0:04:24and vegetables to be perfect.

0:04:57 > 0:05:00She just missed out on a place in the finals but picked up

0:05:00 > 0:05:02a personal best in each of the six skills.
