:00:25. > :00:31.This is Newsround. -- Dani Harmer. First to massive protests in Brazil,

:00:31. > :00:39.almost a year before they host the football World Cup. Bras sill a

:00:39. > :00:43.football-made country. -- Brazil. But with 12 months to go, many

:00:43. > :00:47.Brazilians are anything but happy. At first glance, it looks like

:00:47. > :00:52.preparation for next year's World Cup and the 2016 Olympic Games are

:00:52. > :00:56.in full swing. A fat ball tournament called the Confederations Cup is in

:00:56. > :01:00.tun and crowds are flocking into the newly-built stadiums to get a taste

:01:00. > :01:04.of the action. -- a football turn A Last night there were crowds of a

:01:04. > :01:08.different kind on the streets. Hundreds of thousands of people

:01:08. > :01:11.marched through the country's biggest cities in protests at the

:01:11. > :01:15.rising transport costs and the price of hosting two of the world's

:01:15. > :01:18.biggest sporting competition. Large areas of Brazil are very poor and

:01:18. > :01:24.people living there think the money that should be spent on improving

:01:24. > :01:28.their lives is beings wasted. Protesters threw rocks at police and

:01:28. > :01:34.set fire to Government buildings. On the other side, police were accused

:01:34. > :01:38.of firing rubber bullets and teargas at innocent bistanders.

:01:38. > :01:46.You witnessed some of the protests last night and took this amazing

:01:46. > :01:51.last night and took this amazing video. What did you see? Youngs and

:01:51. > :01:55.olders. Lots of people that you wouldn't see usually in a protest.

:01:55. > :02:00.Were there any children protesting with their parents? You have

:02:00. > :02:05.15-year-olds on the streets here, protesting with people the age of my

:02:06. > :02:10.parents, probably around 60 years parents, probably around 60 years

:02:10. > :02:14.old. More protests are planned for the coming days as the countdown to

:02:14. > :02:18.next summer's World Cup continues. The pressure will continue on the

:02:18. > :02:23.Brazilian Government to do something about it. To Afghanistan and of a

:02:23. > :02:26.begun troops are are officially taking over from NATO forces.

:02:26. > :02:29.British and American troops have been fighting the Taliban there

:02:29. > :02:34.since 2001 but have handed over the responsibility to of a begun

:02:34. > :02:36.soldiers who they have been training up. 444 -- Afghan soldiers. 444

:02:36. > :02:40.British troops have been killed during the war. Most troops from

:02:40. > :02:43.this country are due to leave Afghanistan next year but there are

:02:44. > :02:52.big concerns on what will happen when they go. We will have more in

:02:52. > :02:57.that story on our later bulletin. Now then, Dani Harmer started acting

:02:57. > :03:03.when she was six but growing up in front of the camera has its ups and

:03:03. > :03:10.downs. She is launching her own acting academy later this year and

:03:10. > :03:15.is starring in a theatre show. She is a Strictly finalist and a TV

:03:15. > :03:21.legend You've really got to be kidding me? Danny harmer has grown

:03:21. > :03:25.up on C BBC C which hasn't always been easy. You know, with being on

:03:25. > :03:31.TV it is misleading. When you watch yourself, you look a lot bigger on

:03:31. > :03:39.the TV than you are in real life. People when they meet me they say -

:03:39. > :03:44.you are small and skinny. I'm like, sorry about looking dumpy on the TV.

:03:44. > :03:47.You know what, I don't care what other people think any more. It is

:03:47. > :03:52.important to be happy with yourself. Were you ever at a point when you

:03:52. > :03:57.found it difficult to be in your own skin? Yeah. I think as a girl we all

:03:57. > :04:00.go through this, really. I think it is quite a lot down to things like

:04:00. > :04:05.twitter and Facebook and stuff like that. Some people have nothing

:04:05. > :04:08.better to do with their time than send abuse to people. I still don't

:04:08. > :04:12.understand T I wouldn't walk down the street, go up to a stranger and

:04:12. > :04:16.go - your hat looks rubbish. What is the point? If you haven't got

:04:16. > :04:22.anything nice to say, don't say anything. What about edited

:04:22. > :04:26.celebrity photos and how would Dani feel if her snap was altered?

:04:26. > :04:29.don't get the point in air brushing. We should be happy with the way we

:04:29. > :04:35.are. Everyone is different. Thank you very much. We'll hear more from

:04:35. > :04:38.Dani this weekend. Finally popstar Will.i.am has hit out at record

:04:38. > :04:44.label Universal over the lack of success so far for last year's

:04:44. > :04:50.winner of the Voyce. Leanne Mitchell's album, missed out on the

:04:50. > :04:53.top 100, her first single, Run to You didn't reach the top 40.
