:00:12. > :00:27.At 10:15 this morning, British astronaut Tim Peake touched

:00:28. > :00:30.down on earth after spending six months living in space on board

:00:31. > :00:35.Let's take a look at the moment he arrived.

:00:36. > :00:38.In these pictures we can see the soyuz capsule,

:00:39. > :00:41.with its parachute open, approaching the earth.

:00:42. > :00:44.It landed safely just behind that hill.

:00:45. > :00:50.Because he's been weightless in space for the last six months,

:00:51. > :00:53.the feeling of gravity would have been quite a shock on his body

:00:54. > :00:57.so Tim was carried out of the capsule.

:00:58. > :01:00.Speaking to reporters, Tim said that one of the first

:01:01. > :01:02.things he noticed was that Earth smells really strongly!

:01:03. > :01:06.Here he is making a call to his family, letting them

:01:07. > :01:11.Tim will now go off and get used to life back on Earth.

:01:12. > :01:13.He said the thing he's looking forward to most is pizza.

:01:14. > :01:17.So at least we know what's on the menu tonight!

:01:20. > :01:21.of space fans gathered at the National Space

:01:22. > :01:31.BBC reporter Geeta Pense has been there for Newsround.

:01:32. > :01:36.Because it was going at such a high speed, I thought it was going to

:01:37. > :01:40.crash but then I realised there were thrusters on the bottom to weigh it

:01:41. > :01:44.down and then it landed safely. Quite nerve wracking because we

:01:45. > :01:48.didn't know what would happen. Me and my mum had been following him on

:01:49. > :01:52.social networks and all the pictures he had posted, to see the person who

:01:53. > :01:59.had posted those wonderful pictures come down on earth, it was the

:04:07. > :04:10.Tim has shared amazing pictures he's taken of planet earth

:04:13. > :04:18.video of an aurora rise. In April, Tim joined thousands

:04:19. > :04:21.of runners and completed the distance of the London Marathon

:04:22. > :04:25.from a treadmill in space. Using a harness to stop him

:04:26. > :04:29.from floating away, he completed it But Tim says his ultimate highlight

:04:30. > :04:37.was carrying out a spacewalk Alongside Nasa astronaut Tim Kopra,
