:01:05. > :01:20.Pelicans have been seriously bullied you to an alligator growing far too

:01:21. > :01:25.rapidly in the waters where they live. While small amounts are fine,

:01:26. > :01:29.the pelicans have big appetites. Too much of the green stuff can make

:01:30. > :01:32.them ill. When it builds up its get into the

:01:33. > :01:41.little fish. It doesn't hurt them, but when it eats those critters,

:01:42. > :01:45.like seagulls, like pelicans, when they eat them they can concentrate

:01:46. > :01:50.that material and get sick. After eating this stuff the pelicans

:01:51. > :01:53.find it difficult to swim or fly. They have to receive help from

:01:54. > :01:56.wildlife reserves with a nurse them back to health.

:01:57. > :02:02.When the Al Gay has vanished from the waters and the birds are better

:02:03. > :02:08.the vets take the pelicans to the beach, and release them back into

:02:09. > :02:12.the water. It's the best part of my job, releasing pelicans. You see

:02:13. > :02:17.them and they looked like they're doing OK, but out here UCL happy

:02:18. > :02:22.they are to be back in the wild. The best thing is when they out so

:02:23. > :02:26.quickly kick sand in your face. Back on their feet and with better

:02:27. > :02:28.tummy is the pelicans are happy to fly free back to the water they call

:02:29. > :02:34.home. It might look a bit quackers,

:02:35. > :02:37.but this is the world's largest rubber duckie.

:02:38. > :02:39.And she's making this waterway in Washington DC her own personal

:02:40. > :02:41.bathtub for a few days. "Mama Duck" and more than 20 sailing

:02:42. > :02:44.ships are sailing along the Thea Foss Waterway as part

:02:45. > :02:47.of the Festival of Sail Tacoma, a four-day festival celebrating
