:00:12. > :00:18.Newsround with me, Leah. On the way: Keep watching Newsround and I will
:00:18. > :00:21.tell you what it was like when I met the Queen. And why it was a smashing
:00:21. > :00:24.start to the Open Golf Championships.
:00:24. > :00:29.But first, Jessica Ennis, Laura Robson - two of the country's top
:00:29. > :00:32.sports stars. But there's a big row about how women are treated when it
:00:32. > :00:34.comes to sport. Hundreds of people complained when BBC sports
:00:34. > :00:40.commentator, John Inverdale, made sexist comments about the women's
:00:40. > :00:49.Wimbledon champion, Marion Bartoli. The BBC apologised for the remarks,
:00:49. > :00:59.but now a top Government Minister says it should be doing more.
:00:59. > :01:08.
:01:08. > :01:11.set and match Ms Bartoli. I wonder Maria Miller, the Government
:01:11. > :01:14.Minister in charge of sport, was so upset by this comment by John
:01:15. > :01:24.Inverdale before the Wimbledon final, she wrote a letter to the
:01:25. > :01:30.
:01:30. > :01:34.head of the BBC to express concern the player and said it is talent and
:01:34. > :01:38.determination that gets tow the top. But Maria Miller is concerned that
:01:38. > :01:44.if attitudes don't change young girls will be put off watching and
:01:44. > :01:49.taking up sport. We need to make sure as the media that we don't make
:01:49. > :01:53.those sorts of comments that trivialise women's sport and make it
:01:53. > :02:00.about their appearance rather than talent. Women's sports coverage is
:02:00. > :02:04.increasing in pipe later and the BBC says it has never showed so much of
:02:04. > :02:07.it. It is really important that women get that kind of coverage,
:02:07. > :02:13.because who are the role models for young girls otherwise? If they are
:02:13. > :02:16.only seeing men competing at the top level when women are capable of
:02:16. > :02:21.doing it, what does that say to young girls watching the television.
:02:21. > :02:26.The BBC has said it told John Inverdale that what it said is not
:02:26. > :02:31.acceptable, and it is doing what it can to get more women's sport across
:02:31. > :02:34.its daily output. And from a row that's hotting up, to
:02:35. > :02:38.the weather. It's still baking out there. The last time it was this
:02:38. > :02:42.hot, for this long, was 2006. This grass fire in south London is now
:02:42. > :02:45.under control. In some parts of the country, temperatures have been over
:02:45. > :02:49.30 degrees for a week, with more places under a heatwave alert. The
:02:49. > :02:53.big question - how long will it last? Well, right over the weekend
:02:53. > :02:57.and into next week. Apart from the weather, there are two other big
:02:57. > :03:01.questions at the moment - when will the royal baby be born, and will it
:03:01. > :03:05.be a boy or a girl? Well, one 10-year-old was brave enough to ask
:03:05. > :03:08.someone who might just have the answer - the Queen. In the last 24
:03:08. > :03:13.hours, Fay has been making headlines not just here but right around the
:03:13. > :03:16.world, but she found time to talk to her favourite news programme. Any
:03:16. > :03:21.day now the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will become parents for
:03:21. > :03:26.the first time, and people are rather interested. The world's media
:03:26. > :03:32.has set up outside this hospital in London, to report on the future King
:03:33. > :03:38.or Queen. But one ten-year-old from Cumbria went straight to the head of
:03:38. > :03:44.the Royal Family. Do you want Kate's baby to be a boy or a girl? Don't
:03:44. > :03:49.think I mind, but I would very much like it to arrive, I'm going on
:03:49. > :03:56.holiday! Faye, thank you for talking to Newsround. The last couple of
:03:56. > :04:01.hours have been crazy. Yes, they have. What question did you ask Her
:04:01. > :04:06.Majesty? I said, would you prefer princess Kate and William's baby to
:04:06. > :04:09.be a boy or a girl. My heart was beating really, really fast. And she
:04:09. > :04:14.said she wants the baby to arrive before she goes on holiday.
:04:14. > :04:18.thought that was very sensible, because she wants to meet her
:04:18. > :04:24.great-grandchild before she goes on holiday. Did anybody ask you to ask
:04:24. > :04:28.that question? No, it was total lit from my own decision. Since everyone
:04:28. > :04:33.is excited about Kate and William's baby, I thought it would be a good
:04:33. > :04:36.question to ask. You are all over the internet today. How does that
:04:36. > :04:42.feel? It is pretty special, because I know I will remember the day I
:04:42. > :04:45.talked to the Queen. Last up, a really smashing shot at the Open
:04:45. > :04:48.Golf Championships. Danish player Thomas Bjorn broke a camera lens
:04:48. > :04:52.with this shot on the first day of the tournament at Muirfield. Hope
