:00:15. > :00:21.Hello, I'm Ricky. It's Friday afternoon. This is Newsround. A

:00:22. > :00:24.minute of silence has been held across Spain. Members of the

:00:25. > :00:27.Barcelona football team and thousands in the country stood still

:00:28. > :00:32.to remember the people who lost their lives. It is after two

:00:33. > :00:36.attacked in and around the city of Barcelona yesterday. A van was

:00:37. > :00:42.driven at people on a busy street in Barcelona, and 13 people died. In

:00:43. > :00:46.another incident, in a nearby town, one person died in a similar attack.

:00:47. > :00:50.Leaders around the world have spoken to say they support the Spanish

:00:51. > :00:53.people, and flags above important buildings in the UK have been

:00:54. > :00:57.lowered to show their respect. If you want to know more about what

:00:58. > :01:01.happened in Barcelona, go to Newsround online, where we have the

:01:09. > :01:17.Next, how do you get to the North Pole? How about by boat? One team

:01:18. > :01:21.wants to show how much sea ice has melted there by being the first team

:01:22. > :01:24.ever to sail to the North Pole. They are heading from Alaska in the

:01:25. > :01:25.United States all the way to the North Pole.

:01:26. > :01:28.These yachts are trying to do something no other yacht has ever

:01:29. > :01:36.-- done before - sail to the North Pole.

:01:37. > :01:39.It's a route only a special icebreaker ship has been

:01:40. > :01:42.able to take in the past, but a crew of ten, led by explorer Pen Hadow

:01:43. > :01:44.and his dog, have just left Alaska in America.

:01:45. > :01:47.Possibly for the first time in 130,000 years, it is now

:01:48. > :01:49.possible to sail ships into this sea area,

:01:50. > :01:50.and this means that the

:01:51. > :01:57.wildlife living in the area are now vulnerable.

:01:58. > :02:02.They have a 3500-mile journey ahead of them.

:02:03. > :02:03.For years, temperatures in the Arctic have been

:02:04. > :02:12.In 35 years, more than a third of the

:02:13. > :02:15.sea ice in the area has gone, opening up routes that fishermen

:02:16. > :02:22.Pen has seen the change in the Arctic over

:02:23. > :02:28.He went on foot but because so much of the ice had melted, he

:02:29. > :02:35.The team don't know how far they'll get, but it is hoped this journey

:02:36. > :02:45.will draw attention to the melting polar ice caps.

:02:46. > :02:50.Now, millions of people around the world are getting ready and excited

:02:51. > :02:54.about Monday's solar eclipse. Parts of America will see a total eclipse,

:02:55. > :02:58.when the sun is completely blocked by the moon, and a group of UK

:02:59. > :02:59.Scouts will be travelling to get the best view possible.

:03:00. > :03:02.They're off on a camping trip, but this

:03:06. > :03:07.eclipse at the Yellowstone National Park.

:03:08. > :03:10.The boys are on their way, making a mammoth journey all the way

:03:11. > :03:13.from the UK to Yellowstone National Park in the USA, where they'll be

:03:14. > :03:14.able to witness this incredible moment first-hand.

:03:15. > :03:17.I'm excited for the solar eclipse, to see it, and to

:03:18. > :03:25.I'm feeling really excited to go and see it.

:03:26. > :03:38.It's going to be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

:03:39. > :03:43.Now, have you ever seen a flamingo wearing shoes? It is not a trick

:03:44. > :03:45.question - look at this. He was born two

:03:46. > :03:49.and a half months ago after keepers found

:03:50. > :03:54.an abandoned egg. He's being looked after at this

:03:55. > :03:56.special research Centre in Today, he's trying

:03:57. > :04:03.on a pair of shoes. That's because the concrete

:04:04. > :04:05.surface around the centre And Squish needs daily

:04:06. > :04:13.walks to keep fit. The shoes protect him until he's

:04:14. > :04:16.old enough to join the And if you're wondering,

:04:17. > :04:25.why is this flamingo grey? It takes two years

:04:26. > :04:29.for them to turn pink. The colour comes

:05:03. > :05:04.is The Dumping Ground, because all of them

:05:05. > :05:07.are always up to mischief. There's always a very dramatic

:05:08. > :05:11.moment in there,
