:00:12. > :00:18.Go darker known and welcome to Newsround. And we have got a load

:00:18. > :00:24.of Christmas crackers for you like this: Crash-landing on the moon.

:00:24. > :00:34.catch up with Father Christmas's favourite football team. And here

:00:34. > :00:43.

:00:43. > :00:49.meets the four-legged stars of a First, there is a major warning

:00:49. > :00:54.about the future of elephants. Conservationists say so many of the

:00:54. > :00:59.animals are being killed for their ivory tusks, they may be wiped out

:00:59. > :01:04.in a few years. Trading in ivory is officially banned, but experts say

:01:04. > :01:10.it is not working. African elephants living in the wild face

:01:10. > :01:13.lots of threats from loss of habitat to disease, but now more

:01:13. > :01:20.animals are being killed by poachers Thanh dying through

:01:20. > :01:25.natural causes. The poachers are after this, Ivory, and the illegal

:01:25. > :01:29.trade in it is bigger than ever before. Although the trade has been

:01:29. > :01:35.banned for more than 20 years, selling ivory is still legal in

:01:35. > :01:40.parts of Asia like China and Japan, which means there is a big demand

:01:40. > :01:47.for it. Conservationists say this loophole in the law needs to be

:01:47. > :01:51.closed. We need to try and get a ban on the sound of all ivory.

:01:51. > :01:57.Tanzania has lost between 30 and 50% of its elephants in the last

:01:57. > :02:02.few years. If something is not done to halt this killing, East Africa

:02:02. > :02:06.will lose its elephants in the next five years. They Born Freedom

:02:06. > :02:12.Foundation says around 30,000 elephants are killed by poachers

:02:12. > :02:18.each year. Last year, 23 tonnes of illegal ivory was seized by

:02:18. > :02:23.authorities, the tusks from around 2500 elephants. Last week a

:02:23. > :02:28.shipment of 24 tonnes was found in Malaysia. There are several

:02:28. > :02:33.elephants at the safari park. Poachers often target the older

:02:33. > :02:38.elephants because they have the biggest tusks. When they are killed,

:02:38. > :02:42.this leaves the herd of honourable and can lead to the younger ones

:02:43. > :02:48.dying as well. I do not think people think where it comes from.

:02:48. > :02:53.They do not think, an elephant has died for me to have this ornament

:02:53. > :02:57.in my house and that is what we need to get across. If poaching

:02:57. > :03:03.continues at this rate, soon there could be no elephants left living

:03:03. > :03:08.in the wild. While a change in the law could help, as long as there is

:03:08. > :03:12.a demand, poachers are likely to carry on killing the animals.

:03:13. > :03:20.Conservationists are now calling for better education.

:03:20. > :03:25.The people who are in charge of the money that pays for it Britain's

:03:25. > :03:30.Paralympics and Olympics, have just repealed their next funding.

:03:30. > :03:35.They are cutting the budget of some sports. Swimming will see its

:03:35. > :03:38.funding cut for Rea at 2016. UK Sports says its decisions were

:03:38. > :03:45.based on whether the sports met their targets this year.

:03:45. > :03:50.Joy earning as now is Jody Cundy. You are a Paralympics cyclist and

:03:50. > :03:55.you one two goals in Beijing. You are going to get some more money in

:03:55. > :03:59.the next Olympics. How well that benefit you? It will benefit us

:03:59. > :04:05.because we will be able to have more training camps and more

:04:05. > :04:10.development of the younger riders coming through. We can continue to

:04:10. > :04:15.perform and go to Rio and be in the best shape possible. Some sports

:04:16. > :04:20.will not get more funding. They will suffer, is that fair?

:04:20. > :04:26.Unfortunately, that is how it has always been done. It is always

:04:26. > :04:33.based on performance at the Olympic Games. Cycling did very well, so we

:04:33. > :04:39.get a bonus. Some sports have lost their funding completely. Now they

:04:39. > :04:44.need sponsors to come on board and help develop those sports. Why do

:04:44. > :04:49.you think UK Sport has made this decision? I am not sure how it has

:04:49. > :04:55.come about, but it has always done on a four-year cycle. It has always

:04:55. > :05:03.been done on projections. If you do not win as many medals, the funding

:05:04. > :05:07.gets cut. No pressure! Good luck in the next one.

:05:07. > :05:13.Two Nasa spacecraft have crashed into the McCormack but don't worry,

:05:13. > :05:17.it was done on purpose. They were fired into space last year to work

:05:17. > :05:23.out the moon's secrets. Its crust is much thinner than they thought

:05:23. > :05:31.and it was battered by asteroids and comets millions of years ago.

:05:31. > :05:36.This is all about the Nasa mission. Two probes were travelling around

:05:36. > :05:42.the moon to find out what it was made of. In the near future we hope

:05:42. > :05:48.to send people in the Moon. But the mission has come to the end of its

:05:48. > :05:54.light. NASA crashed the craft into the month's surfers, but they are

:05:54. > :05:58.doing it so they know exactly where they land. On the moon's servers is

:05:58. > :06:08.all sorts of historical information, like where the moon landings took

:06:08. > :06:14.place. We do not want them crashing there. We keep the information site.

:06:14. > :06:20.Eventually they will get covered in moon dust. We all want to play Mary

:06:20. > :06:25.or Joseph in the school nativity, but most of us get stuck playing

:06:25. > :06:30.the stars or even the sheep. Or the back end of a donkey. Leah has

:06:30. > :06:35.always wanted to star as the Angel Gabriel and sheet it to a special

:06:35. > :06:41.stage with a tea-towel wrapped around her head. You know it is

:06:41. > :06:47.Christmas when a nativity play comes to town. Forget the glitz and

:06:47. > :06:52.glamour of Hollywood, a you do not get much better than this. Unlike

:06:52. > :06:59.most nativity plays these children are telling the story of baby Jesus

:06:59. > :07:05.using real animals. Where they will behave? It was really funny, the

:07:05. > :07:12.one I was holding was very naughty. The ship kept jumping up. Her did

:07:12. > :07:16.you cope with a live performance? just kept pulling them back.

:07:17. > :07:21.play is held on a farm that brings together Jordan with different

:07:21. > :07:24.needs and abilities. It is an opportunity for the children to

:07:24. > :07:30.come to the farm and beat the animals and learnt about fruit

:07:30. > :07:37.production. In the Nativity the animals taking part in that brings

:07:37. > :07:43.alive the Christian story. It is such a tight schedule that children

:07:43. > :07:49.did not have any proper rehearsal time, so how did it go? It was

:07:49. > :07:54.really fun and we got to see how good people are at acting. The best

:07:54. > :07:59.thing for me was singing. I came dressed up as a shepherd, but the

:07:59. > :08:08.only thing when you are using animals in a nativity play is that

:08:08. > :08:13.somebody has to do the cleaning up at the end. I love her outfit.

:08:13. > :08:19.you are doing a Christmas play, or if you have already had it, we want

:08:19. > :08:25.to hear about it. Go to the website and tell us how it all went. Which

:08:25. > :08:31.book or team does buy their Christmas support? The answer is FC

:08:31. > :08:37.Santa Claus. There really is an FC Santa Clause who play in League Two

:08:38. > :08:42.in Fenland. This season is over in Fenland for the winter, but here

:08:42. > :08:50.are some of the players having a pre-Christmas kickabout in the snow.
