0:00:04 > 0:00:07Good morning, Ricky here with all the build-up to

0:00:07 > 0:00:10England's big game and a massive World Cup shock to bring you.

0:00:10 > 0:00:14Plus, the latest hi-tech phone with 3D imaging.

0:00:21 > 0:00:24First this morning, to one of the biggest World Cup shocks going.

0:00:24 > 0:00:26Reigning champions Spain are out.

0:00:26 > 0:00:29They lost their second game of the tournament 2-0 against Chile

0:00:29 > 0:00:29with the South American side scoring twice in the first half.

0:00:32 > 0:00:34It's the third time in the last four tournaments that

0:00:34 > 0:00:39the defending champions failed to make it past the group stage.

0:00:39 > 0:00:42It's definitely the biggest shock of this World Cup so far.

0:00:42 > 0:00:45And England will be hoping to avoid their own upset today

0:00:45 > 0:00:48when they take on Uruguay in a must win match later.

0:00:48 > 0:00:51Both teams lost their opening matches and ex-England

0:00:51 > 0:00:54captain Rio Ferdinand's been telling Newsround what Roy Hodgson's side

0:00:54 > 0:00:57need to do to win.

0:00:57 > 0:00:59Be positive...

0:00:59 > 0:01:02Get lots of shots on goal, if they can.

0:01:02 > 0:01:06When we get into the final third, make sure we get the ball into

0:01:06 > 0:01:09our danger men, get them into wide areas, get the ball to the two guys

0:01:09 > 0:01:13in the middle, and hopefully they can put it in the back of the net.

0:01:13 > 0:01:15But we've got to believe in ourselves.

0:01:15 > 0:01:17The young players that we had going out there, they announced themselves

0:01:17 > 0:01:21in terms of being fearless and going out and having the will to

0:01:21 > 0:01:25receive the ball and take people on, and that's a good thing.

0:01:25 > 0:01:27Well, England can't rely on Rio any more to play, but they

0:01:27 > 0:01:33will be hoping for a big performance from striker Daniel Sturridge.

0:01:33 > 0:01:40These kids from his old school had this to say about tonight's game.

0:01:40 > 0:01:42I feel great, because Daniel Sturridge, he's like

0:01:42 > 0:01:46a top star footballer, so I feel great he is coming to the school.

0:01:46 > 0:01:48Well, I think Daniel Sturridge is going to be great, fascinating,

0:01:48 > 0:01:51but I don't think the others are going to be that good.

0:01:51 > 0:01:54I will play Daniel Sturridge up front, I would play 4-3-2,

0:01:54 > 0:01:56put Rooney in the number 10 pocket.

0:01:56 > 0:02:00I think he's not the best at the minute, so he needs more touches on

0:02:00 > 0:02:04the ball in the number 10 pocket, put Raheem Sterling on the left.

0:02:04 > 0:02:07We'll have loads more on this on this in half an hour, but you

0:02:07 > 0:02:11can tell us how you think England will do on the website right now.

0:02:11 > 0:02:14And if you're just not into all this footy we want you to

0:02:14 > 0:02:18get in touch, too.

0:02:18 > 0:02:25Head online to tell us what you're doing to avoid this World Cup.

0:02:25 > 0:02:29To some of the day's other news now, and a man who's been trapped

0:02:29 > 0:02:31underground in Germany's deepest cave for 12 days is expected to be

0:02:31 > 0:02:33rescued today.

0:02:33 > 0:02:35The 52-year-old was part of a team exploring the cave

0:02:35 > 0:02:37when he was injured by falling rocks and stranded

0:02:37 > 0:02:39a thousand metres below ground.

0:02:39 > 0:02:41Rescuers have been slowly trying to bring him to the top for days.

0:02:41 > 0:02:44But because the cave is so narrow and so far down, they've

0:02:44 > 0:02:46found it hard to keep him stable.

0:02:46 > 0:02:49And now to our latest look at how to solve some

0:02:49 > 0:02:50of the world's biggest problems.

0:02:50 > 0:02:53All this week we're looking at the six challenging questions posed for

0:02:53 > 0:02:54the ?10 million Longitude prize.

0:02:54 > 0:02:57The public have to vote on which one they would want tackling

0:02:57 > 0:02:59at and today it's all about vital medicines.

0:02:59 > 0:03:02Here's Jenny.

0:03:02 > 0:03:0480 years ago, a scientist called Alexander Fleming

0:03:04 > 0:03:05discovered penicillin, an antibiotic,

0:03:05 > 0:03:09and it changed the world of medicine for ever.

0:03:09 > 0:03:12Antibiotics kill harmful bacteria that can make us ill,

0:03:12 > 0:03:14and it's estimated

0:03:14 > 0:03:18more than 80 million live have been saved because of them.

0:03:18 > 0:03:19But there's a problem.

0:03:19 > 0:03:22Bacteria are becoming resistant to them.

0:03:22 > 0:03:25Bacteria have to make new generations,

0:03:25 > 0:03:27children, grandchildren.

0:03:27 > 0:03:31In doing so, they have to copy their DNA, which can mutate, change,

0:03:31 > 0:03:35and that often gives them advantage against antibiotics.

0:03:35 > 0:03:37It makes them resistant

0:03:37 > 0:03:40to the medicines we want to treat them with.

0:03:40 > 0:03:43We can't stop bacteria developing resistance to antibiotics,

0:03:43 > 0:03:46so experts are looking at ways

0:03:46 > 0:03:50we can reduce the amount of antibiotics we use.

0:03:50 > 0:03:53Clearly, the best solution would be to have lots of new antibiotics

0:03:53 > 0:03:56so we could always be on top of the bugs and treat them,

0:03:56 > 0:03:59but we haven't got many in the pipeline at all.

0:03:59 > 0:04:01So what we need to do

0:04:01 > 0:04:05is look after the antibiotics we've got much better.

0:04:05 > 0:04:06One idea is to improve a test

0:04:06 > 0:04:12which can work out whether somebody really needs to take them.

0:04:12 > 0:04:14Antibiotics have saved millions of lives,

0:04:14 > 0:04:18and without them routine operations would be life-threatening.

0:04:18 > 0:04:22Major procedures like organ transplants would be impossible.

0:04:22 > 0:04:24It's hoped that, with further research,

0:04:24 > 0:04:27scientists will be able to find a better way

0:04:27 > 0:04:32to preserve antibiotics and the way they are used.

0:04:32 > 0:04:35Last up, a new smartphone that offers 3D effects has been unveiled.

0:04:35 > 0:04:40The Fire phone has four infrared front-facing cameras which track

0:04:40 > 0:04:43your face and make the device's images look three-dimensional.

0:04:43 > 0:04:46Another feature is Firefly, which can recognise millions of objects.

0:04:46 > 0:04:49It's been made by online giant Amazon.

0:04:49 > 0:04:51Make sure you come back at 8:15,

0:04:51 > 0:04:54Lindsay from Blue Peter will be live in the studio with some exciting

0:04:54 > 0:04:56news about the show's new pet.

0:04:56 > 0:04:58See you then.
