:00:18. > :00:23.Hello. Ricky and Ore bringing in the weekend Newsround-style.

:00:24. > :00:29.have a bit of everything on tonight's programme. We will be

:00:29. > :00:33.finding out why cuckoos are being fitted with backpacks. Alexandra

:00:33. > :00:37.Burke talks to me about the new X Factor judges.

:00:37. > :00:44.First, BMX stars from around the world have been in action at the

:00:44. > :00:48.London Olympic Park trying out the bumps ahead of the main event in

:00:48. > :00:51.343 days' time? Something like that. It is only the second competition

:00:52. > :00:56.to be held in the park itself. Every sport will have had its own

:00:56. > :01:02.test run before the Games. It is to iron out the problems with venues

:01:02. > :01:07.before the eyes of the world turn to London in 2012. 32 venues, 26

:01:07. > :01:12.sports, two weeks and millions of spectators. Putting on the greatest

:01:12. > :01:16.show on earth requires a lot of practice. Today BMXers have been

:01:16. > :01:19.testing the Olympic Park's BMX track as part of the Supercross

:01:19. > :01:23.World Cup. Organisers need to make sure every venue is up to scratch

:01:23. > :01:28.and that people coming to watch can get in-and-out easily. It is not

:01:28. > :01:32.the first Olympic test event. We have seen a triathlon, beach

:01:32. > :01:39.volleyball and road cycling in London. Apart from a few bloopers,

:01:39. > :01:43.things have gone to plan. At this week's basketball, China's National

:01:43. > :01:47.Anthem sounded like the anthem from Chile. At the rowing, they

:01:47. > :01:52.discovered the roads weren't wide enough for the TV trucks. I'm very

:01:52. > :01:57.confident that what we have tested we will be able to move from a

:01:57. > :02:02.seven out of ten to a ten out of ten. There are loads more test

:02:02. > :02:06.events in the pipeline. The Olympic velodrome will host the Track

:02:06. > :02:14.Cycling World Cup and the Aquatics Centre will have the Diving World

:02:14. > :02:19.Cup. The Olympic Stadium will hold the British Student Sport

:02:19. > :02:26.Championships. As the time ticks down, organisers hope the tests run

:02:26. > :02:27.as smoothly as possible. Now people in Dorset are clearing

:02:28. > :02:32.up after flash-floods yesterday. Bournemouth has been the worst

:02:32. > :02:36.affected area with drains overflowing, shops flooding and

:02:37. > :02:42.roads ripped up. It is drying out now. More rain is expected on

:02:42. > :02:47.Sunday. Next to the mysterious decline of one of Britain's best-

:02:47. > :02:51.loved birds, the number of cuckoos has halved in 15 years. Because

:02:51. > :02:56.they migrate thousands of miles to Africa, it is difficult to work out

:02:57. > :03:03.what is going wrong and when. Researchers have come up with a

:03:03. > :03:05.creative idea. Have a look at this. CUCKOO CALLS the song of a cuckoo.

:03:05. > :03:09.Some people call it the sound of spring because that is when the

:03:09. > :03:14.birds come back to the UK after spending a winter in Africa where

:03:15. > :03:18.there is more food. Fewer and fewer cuckoos are returning here and bird

:03:18. > :03:23.experts are desperate to find out why. As it is about time for the

:03:23. > :03:27.birds to migrate, they have hatched a plan. Using a fake female bird,

:03:27. > :03:31.they lured five males into a trap and fitted each of them with a tiny

:03:31. > :03:36.GPS backpack. The pack tracks the birds as they fly so for the first

:03:36. > :03:42.time ever, we will know where they are all the time. Clement was the

:03:42. > :03:47.first tagged cuckoo to make the journey. He flew to France, then

:03:47. > :03:50.turned right through Spain and he landed in Africa in July. He is now

:03:50. > :03:56.safely crossed the Sahara and arrived in Burkino Faso in the

:03:56. > :03:59.south of the Continent. The other birds weren't far behind. If it is

:03:59. > :04:04.found the birds are getting to Africa safely, it might be

:04:04. > :04:11.something on their return journey stopping them getting back to the

:04:11. > :04:15.UK. We are interested in finding out where the cuckoos are.

:04:15. > :04:19.researchers hope the project will clear up the cuckoo mystery and

:04:19. > :04:22.means this will remain a common sound in our countryside.

:04:22. > :04:27.If you want to see some of the biggest paint negotiation the world,

:04:27. > :04:31.head to Bristol. Do what the man says! Graffiti artists have been

:04:31. > :04:35.invited to brighten up an ugly road in the city by painting all over

:04:35. > :04:38.the tower blocks. Their works used to be illegal but now the

:04:38. > :04:43.authorities have changed their mind. The police station is getting a

:04:43. > :04:48.lick of paint, too! Now, if you want to win The X Factor and go on

:04:48. > :04:53.to sell millions of albums, you are better off being a girl. The track

:04:53. > :05:01.record doesn't look so good for the male champions. Steve Brookstein,

:05:01. > :05:06.Shayne Ward, Leon Jackson? Where are they now. I caught up with

:05:06. > :05:14.Alexandra Burke, one of the most successful X Factor graduates.

:05:14. > :05:20.# I heard there was a secret... # There's only been two female

:05:20. > :05:27.winners on The X Factor, Leona Lewis and this lady. Alexandra

:05:27. > :05:30.Burke! Earlier this week I caught up with her. She is about to launch

:05:30. > :05:35.her second album but before that, she wants to talk about the show

:05:35. > :05:40.that made her a star. Having a fresh line-up will make it more

:05:40. > :05:45.exciting. I am excited about it. I can't wait to see what happens.

:05:45. > :05:51.Someone like Tulisa, you are still so young, she is 12? No. She's

:05:51. > :06:00.older than me, 23. Is she really? think so. Would you like someone

:06:00. > :06:04.like that as a mentor? She has not been through as much as someone

:06:04. > :06:08.like Cheryl Cole. I get that point. What is great about her is she is

:06:08. > :06:12.the youngest judge. She will give it that edge, that probably no

:06:12. > :06:15.other judge has had before. # All night

:06:15. > :06:23.# All night... # What is happening with Alexandra

:06:23. > :06:25.Burke next? I am releasing a second album. I have just picked the first

:06:25. > :06:33.single. The first mix will be heard tomorrow.

:06:34. > :06:42.# Get the bad boys... # If you had to duet with any of the

:06:42. > :06:52.acts, who would it be and why? going to say Gary. Gary's a legend.

:06:52. > :06:56.I'm a huge fan of Take That. has bt made it yet! In fact not

:06:56. > :06:59.even the most famous couple in the world had made it until now. True.

:06:59. > :07:02.A famous London toy store is selling dolls of the Duke and

:07:02. > :07:07.Duchess of Cambridge. Here is William looking for his bride.

:07:07. > :07:12.Where is he going? The tiny couple is on sale for 100 and I'm not

:07:12. > :07:18.sure how flattered they are with those grins. And the size of their
