:00:00. > :00:09.Hi, guys. Ayshah here. Coming up, the 13-year-old wizzkid teacher and

:00:10. > :00:16.the best of your Doctor Who vids. It's Newsround.

:00:17. > :00:22.Let's start with a warning that not enough is being done to protect the

:00:23. > :00:25.natural world here in the UK. A group of charities, including the

:00:26. > :00:28.World Wildlife Fund and bird charity the RSPB, have released a report

:00:29. > :00:33.today claiming nature is in crisis, and that the Government should be

:00:34. > :00:36.doing more to help. The Government rejects this and says it's spending

:00:37. > :00:40.billions on improving the environment. Here's Martin with more

:00:41. > :00:53.Looking after the UK's vast range of animals, sea life, plants and green

:00:54. > :00:57.spaces is a big job. And it's one the current Prime

:00:58. > :01:01.Minister promised to take a big interest in - once claiming his

:01:02. > :01:05.would be the greenest government ever. But today a group of leading

:01:06. > :01:08.wildlife charities released a report criticising the Government for

:01:09. > :01:10.missing some of its own targets on the environment and not doing enough

:01:11. > :01:24.to protect nature across the UK. 60% of species are declining. The

:01:25. > :01:28.government plans are not enough and we want them to do more. The report

:01:29. > :01:30.uses a traffic light system to rate the Government's success in 25

:01:31. > :01:33.different environmental areas. Four of those were given green for good

:01:34. > :01:38.progress, including the actions taken to protect trees after the

:01:39. > :01:41.spread of ash dieback disease and international work to protect

:01:42. > :01:44.elephants, rhinos and whales. But nine areas were marked red for

:01:45. > :01:46.failure - including protecting certain countryside areas from being

:01:47. > :01:51.built on, reversing wildlife declines and improving conditions

:01:52. > :01:54.for farm animals. The Government says, while this report recognises

:01:55. > :01:57.some of its environmental achievements to date, many of the

:01:58. > :02:03.criticisms are unfair and based on opinions, not facts. And at this

:02:04. > :02:12.farm near Bolton they think Government policies have helped them

:02:13. > :02:17.out. A lot of farms we see have been turning into private housing. What

:02:18. > :02:22.we have done is we have managed, with Government support, to turn

:02:23. > :02:25.this and transform it back into being a proper farm. This is just

:02:26. > :02:28.one farm and the report insists, across the country, the Government

:02:29. > :02:32.is failing to meet many of its own targets. But the Government says it

:02:33. > :02:33.is investing in a much longer term plan, one that is making good

:02:34. > :02:38.progress. In other news, a powerful cyclone

:02:39. > :02:42.has caused devastation on the island of Sardinia, just off the coast of

:02:43. > :02:46.Italy. Waters up to ten feet high swept through towns after a months'

:02:47. > :02:50.worth of rain fell in just over an hour. 17 people have been killed and

:02:51. > :02:51.several people are missing. The Italian government's declared a

:02:52. > :02:58.state of emergency. OK, you've been at school all day so

:02:59. > :03:02.you know the drill - the adults stand at the front of the class and

:03:03. > :03:05.the kids listen, right? Wrong! A 13-year-old whizz kid has turned

:03:06. > :03:08.that on its head after being hired to teach classes at MIT, one of

:03:09. > :03:11.America's most prestigious universities.

:03:12. > :03:17.This is Quin. He's 13, likes computer games... Oh, and he's such

:03:18. > :03:19.a technical wizard he's been hired to teach university students up to

:03:20. > :03:29.twice his age. He is probably better than some of

:03:30. > :03:39.the professors I have had in terms of his ability to speak and convey

:03:40. > :03:43.information. Began a few years ago, when he started a programme

:03:44. > :03:48.electronics. Not even his mum and dad noticed how good he was. Really,

:03:49. > :03:56.I think we didn't get it. For his birthday, we went to class and he

:03:57. > :04:01.started drawing a crowd of all the teachers. All of these engineers

:04:02. > :04:05.standing around him. I thought, that is so cool, nobody has done that

:04:06. > :04:08.before. You should sell that. Now he's started his own company and

:04:09. > :04:17.even developed his own handy household gadget. Fuzzbot is a robot

:04:18. > :04:22.that can dust around your house, while avoiding obstacles. Snazzy!

:04:23. > :04:26.So, while the future looks bright for Quin, after a hard days teaching

:04:27. > :04:30.and acting like an adult, nothing's better than kicking back and being a

:04:31. > :04:32.kid for the last few hours of the day.

:04:33. > :04:35.Finally, the days are counting down to the very exciting Doctor Who 50th

:04:36. > :04:39.anniversary special and you've been sending in your very own tributes.

:04:40. > :04:41.Loads of you have emailed us short re-enactments of your favourite

:04:53. > :04:57.tiny antelope baby getting an unusual upbringing after being

:04:58. > :05:00.rejected by its mum. Check it out and I'll see you back here at 6:50.
