0:00:07 > 0:00:10Keep watching for all this.
0:00:10 > 0:00:13As Donald Trump gets ready to be sworn in as the 45th
0:00:13 > 0:00:15president of America, we hear what kids in
0:00:15 > 0:00:18the US think of him.
0:00:18 > 0:00:22Another round, another win for Murray in Australia.
0:00:22 > 0:00:26And find out what's so special about these little guys.
0:00:37 > 0:00:40Today, the US gets a new president - Donald Trump.
0:00:40 > 0:00:42He's the billionaire businessman who promised he'd "make
0:00:42 > 0:00:43America great again".
0:00:43 > 0:00:45Well, now it's time for him to start his new job.
0:00:45 > 0:00:48Leah is in Washington D.C in the States, and sent us this.
0:00:48 > 0:00:49Hello, everyone.
0:00:49 > 0:00:51Well, welcome to Washington, DC, the capital of
0:00:51 > 0:00:53America.
0:00:53 > 0:00:57Now, today really is a huge day for this country, as Donald
0:00:57 > 0:01:00Trump prepares to move into there, that is the White House.
0:01:00 > 0:01:03He will take on one of the most important jobs on the planet,
0:01:03 > 0:01:06he will become the 45th president of United States, but before he
0:01:06 > 0:01:10officially takes charge, he will have to attend a special
0:01:10 > 0:01:12ceremony called an inauguration.
0:01:12 > 0:01:14So what is an inauguration?
0:01:14 > 0:01:17Well, luckily we've got you covered on that one, take a
0:01:17 > 0:01:18look at this.
0:01:18 > 0:01:20The president lives in the White House,
0:01:20 > 0:01:23but the important bit today happens in the capital.
0:01:23 > 0:01:25That's where Trump will be sworn in as
0:01:25 > 0:01:29president and take an oath promising to do the best job he can.
0:01:29 > 0:01:33Then he will make his speech called the inaugural address.
0:01:33 > 0:01:36At the same time, movers will have a few hours
0:01:36 > 0:01:40to move the Obama family's possessions out and move in Trump's.
0:01:40 > 0:01:43After Trump's speech, Obama will then leave.
0:01:43 > 0:01:45The party is over for him.
0:01:45 > 0:01:48He should go out in style, though, with the past few presidents
0:01:48 > 0:01:51leaving via helicopter.
0:01:51 > 0:01:52Then it is lunchtime.
0:01:52 > 0:01:55There's a feast that will include food from Trump's home
0:01:55 > 0:01:56state, New York.
0:01:56 > 0:01:58Lots of bagels and cheesecake, then.
0:01:58 > 0:02:00Yum, yum.
0:02:00 > 0:02:03Next up is the parade, this includes high
0:02:03 > 0:02:05school bands, floats and soldiers.
0:02:05 > 0:02:09It is probably nice to stretch your legs
0:02:09 > 0:02:11after all that food and
0:02:11 > 0:02:11talking.
0:02:11 > 0:02:15In the evening, there's lots of balls hosted over the city.
0:02:15 > 0:02:18The president tries to attend as many as possible.
0:02:18 > 0:02:19It's a bit exhausting, but you only become
0:02:19 > 0:02:22president once.
0:02:22 > 0:02:23Or maybe twice.
0:02:23 > 0:02:24So it's worth the effort.
0:02:24 > 0:02:27Then it's time for a good night's sleep for the
0:02:27 > 0:02:31first day in office for President Trump.
0:02:31 > 0:02:34While Donald Trump has won the keys to the White House, the election
0:02:34 > 0:02:37process has left many people deeply divided in this country.
0:02:37 > 0:02:40Now, while Trump has his supporters, there
0:02:40 > 0:02:42still are people that believe he isn't the right person
0:02:42 > 0:02:45to lead this country, and across the weekend,
0:02:45 > 0:02:48there will be protests here in Washington and across the country.
0:02:48 > 0:02:51And even some politicians have decided to skip today's
0:02:51 > 0:02:54inauguration.
0:02:54 > 0:02:56So I met up with two kids here in Washington,
0:02:56 > 0:03:00DC to find out why there's such a divide.
0:03:00 > 0:03:02Hi, I'm Jack, I'm from Atlanta, Georgia and I'm
0:03:02 > 0:03:04a Donald Trump supporter.
0:03:04 > 0:03:11I'm from Washington DC, and I am not a Trump supporter.
0:03:15 > 0:03:17Can you tell me how you feel about Donald Trump?
0:03:17 > 0:03:21I'm excited for his presidency, I'm excited for his different view of
0:03:21 > 0:03:25how our government works, and I'm excited
0:03:25 > 0:03:26to have a new person in the
0:03:26 > 0:03:27White House.
0:03:27 > 0:03:30President Barack Obama was our first black president, it was bittersweet
0:03:30 > 0:03:32seeing him go.
0:03:32 > 0:03:36Donald Trump coming into office, I think, you know, I'm
0:03:36 > 0:03:38going to have to get used to it.
0:03:38 > 0:03:41Do you think Donald Trump has what it takes to unite America?
0:03:41 > 0:03:43Can it be possible?
0:03:43 > 0:03:45I think it can be possible.
0:03:45 > 0:03:49As long as he, you know, watches what he says,
0:03:49 > 0:03:52because some of the things he says, people can
0:03:52 > 0:03:53take it wrong.
0:03:53 > 0:03:56While he did win the election, there is a large proportion
0:03:56 > 0:03:58of Democrats in our country who don't agree with him.
0:03:58 > 0:04:02If we are going to bridge this divide, we need to be able to reach
0:04:02 > 0:04:07out to the other party, work with them to solve our issues.
0:04:07 > 0:04:09What would you say to him?
0:04:09 > 0:04:12Follow-through on your campaign promises, because if you don't,
0:04:12 > 0:04:15you won't be in office very long.
0:04:15 > 0:04:17Because the people are expecting a lot from you.
0:04:17 > 0:04:19Keep your promises, because it's a lot of doubts
0:04:19 > 0:04:21people have.
0:04:21 > 0:04:23If he doesn't go through with it, there will be lots
0:04:23 > 0:04:25of problems.
0:04:25 > 0:04:29I hope our country can heal from this election and come
0:04:29 > 0:04:32together to be one nation, not a divided nation.
0:04:32 > 0:04:36And go online to watch my report on Donald Trump the man, and hear
0:04:36 > 0:04:38from his supporters in Pennsylvania.
0:04:38 > 0:04:42Remember, I'll be here live 4:20pm on CBBC,
0:04:42 > 0:04:47with all the very latest from the inauguration as it happens.
0:04:47 > 0:04:48Thanks, Leah.
0:04:48 > 0:04:51Other news now, and Andy Murray has just got through to the fourth
0:04:51 > 0:04:53round of the Australian Open with a win over
0:04:53 > 0:04:55American Sam Querrey.
0:04:55 > 0:04:58Murray won in straight sets, and will be hoping this might be
0:04:58 > 0:05:01the year he finally wins the title.
0:05:01 > 0:05:06He's reached the final five times before, but has lost each time.
0:05:06 > 0:05:08Imagine if you had to find your way home after being
0:05:08 > 0:05:10spun round and round.
0:05:10 > 0:05:13Well, it's not a problem, if you're an ant!
0:05:13 > 0:05:15Scientists have discovered that ants use the sun
0:05:15 > 0:05:19to work out where they are, and have a good memory -
0:05:19 > 0:05:21despite having a brain smaller than a pin head.
0:05:21 > 0:05:24Researchers now hope to make mini robots that can find their way
0:05:24 > 0:05:27around like ants do.
0:05:27 > 0:05:32Finally to a rather strange turnip throwing festival in Spain.
0:05:32 > 0:05:34Lots of people ran through a Spanish village, throwing turnips
0:05:34 > 0:05:37at the colourful figure in fancy dress.
0:05:37 > 0:05:40It's thought the festival is held because many years ago a thief
0:05:40 > 0:05:44was once chased out of town by people throwing vegetables.
0:05:44 > 0:05:47Don't try this yourselves, guys.
0:05:47 > 0:05:50That's all from the teams in the US and the UK this morning,
0:05:50 > 0:05:52Newsround's back at 4.20, when Leah will be live
0:05:52 > 0:05:57from America with all the latest on Trump's inauguration.
0:06:05 > 0:06:07All right, Cockers, I'm a little dog from Wigan.
0:06:07 > 0:06:09# Oh, yeah!
0:06:09 > 0:06:11Can you guess who that was an impression of?
0:06:11 > 0:06:13Yeah, you're right, it was Hacker T Dog, of course.
0:06:13 > 0:06:15But can you do a brilliant impression
0:06:15 > 0:06:17of a CBBC character or presenter?
