:00:05. > :00:11.Good afternoon, Newsrounders. I'm Hayley, and I've got loads on the

:00:11. > :00:20.way for you. We're looking forward to a big night at the BRITs. And

:00:20. > :00:25.some survivors of that sticky slime First up, the biggest names in

:00:25. > :00:27.music are heading to London's O2 for tonight's 2013 BRIT Awards.

:00:27. > :00:33.Adele, One Direction, Emeli Sande, and of course Newsround's Ricky

:00:33. > :00:43.will be there. But before he hot- footed it down to London, Rick

:00:43. > :00:47.

:00:48. > :00:53.roped in a friend to try to predict Yes, with the help of our music

:00:53. > :00:59.insider, DJ Sam, can we predict he will win? We have a couple of

:00:59. > :01:06.categories here, I want you to pick a winner. Best British male!

:01:06. > :01:16.think it is going to be pretty tight. It would be a great success

:01:16. > :01:18.

:01:18. > :01:22.for X factor. But I think Calvet Mumford and Sons, they have been

:01:22. > :01:26.around a few years, they went to the Grammys a few days ago, and

:01:26. > :01:33.they famously said, we never thought we would win anything. They

:01:33. > :01:37.then went on to win and win and win again. But One Direction have taken

:01:37. > :01:42.over the planet this year. We have to think about the sort of people

:01:42. > :01:47.who decide these awards, people within the industry, who can stroke

:01:47. > :01:52.their chin about everything, start to think about artistic merit. If

:01:52. > :01:56.we were voting, we know who would min, but maybe Mumford and Sons

:01:56. > :02:06.will win. And you guys have been telling us

:02:06. > :02:19.

:02:19. > :02:22.who who you think will pick up a Thanks, guys. You can join in that

:02:22. > :02:26.chat and see who Radio 1 DJs Dan and Phil reckon will win big

:02:26. > :02:29.tonight on the website. Next, charities have today

:02:29. > :02:34.published research suggesting one in five children in the UK are

:02:34. > :02:36.living in poverty. The End Child Poverty campaign has produced a new

:02:36. > :02:42.map highlighting the areas where children are living below the

:02:42. > :02:45.poverty line. But what does that actually mean? Joe has been finding

:02:45. > :02:48.out. The campaign End Child Poverty has

:02:49. > :02:52.mapped the UK based on estimates of the numbers of children living in

:02:52. > :02:55.poverty. Central Manchester, parts of East London and Middlesbrough

:02:55. > :02:59.have come out with the highest proportion of children living below

:02:59. > :03:02.the poverty line. That means families that earn a lot less money

:03:02. > :03:05.than the average family and struggle to afford things that

:03:05. > :03:09.other people take for granted, like clothes, food or good places to

:03:09. > :03:14.live. Things here in Central Manchester have improved slightly

:03:14. > :03:19.since last year, but it's still the worst in the country. Nearly half

:03:19. > :03:22.of kids are still living in poverty, almost 12,000 children. At this

:03:22. > :03:25.church, they are used to helping poorer families. They have a drop-

:03:25. > :03:34.in centre and provide food for people who are struggling to make

:03:34. > :03:39.ends meet. So this is ready to go. We have got a parcel here for a

:03:39. > :03:43.single person, enough for three meals for three days. A lady came

:03:43. > :03:48.in whose benefits had been stopped, but it was her daughter's birthday,

:03:48. > :03:51.so we were able to give her food for three days, but also things

:03:51. > :03:59.that could help her to make a party for her daughter, because she was

:03:59. > :04:02.worried about a birthday party. part of Sheffield has fewer than 5%

:04:02. > :04:06.of children living in poverty, and there are similar figures for parts

:04:06. > :04:09.of southwest London. Some areas up were than other areas largely

:04:09. > :04:14.because the people who live in them did not have many qualifications

:04:14. > :04:17.and find it hard to get good jobs. Sometimes they are taking care of

:04:17. > :04:21.other people and it is hard to get enough money. The Government says

:04:21. > :04:24.it is working on new ways to try to help the poorest families, but the

:04:24. > :04:28.charities behind the campaign are calling for more to be done to help

:04:28. > :04:31.end child poverty in the UK. 20 seabirds rescued from the south

:04:31. > :04:34.coast of England after being found covered in a mystery sticky

:04:34. > :04:38.substance are being released back into the wild today. Earlier this

:04:38. > :04:41.month almost 300 birds had to be rescued and taken to special clean-

:04:41. > :04:47.up centres to get rid of the rubber, an oily goo which stopped them
