:00:00. > :00:09.Hi, I'm Ricky, live from the Newsround studio.

:00:10. > :00:12.Our top story today comes from Kiev, the capital city of Ukraine in

:00:13. > :00:17.Eastern Europe, where a peace agreement between the government and

:00:18. > :00:20.demonstrators has broken down. This morning, anti-government protestors

:00:21. > :00:26.and police clashed, and at least 21 people are reported to have died

:00:27. > :00:28.there today. In the last hour, politicians from European countries

:00:29. > :00:31.have agreed to impose sanctions, like travel bans, on those they

:00:32. > :00:37.think are responsible for the violence. There's a guide on our

:00:38. > :00:41.website if you want to know more about the crisis in Ukraine. And if

:00:42. > :00:45.you've been upset by this or any other story in the news, there's

:00:46. > :00:49.advice there as well. To Sochi now, and Team GB will now

:00:50. > :00:51.at least equal a record medal haul at the Winter Olympics after

:00:52. > :00:54.Britain's women won a curling bronze. Eve Muirhead's side secured

:00:55. > :00:57.a dramatic 6-5 victory over Switzerland with the last stone of

:00:58. > :01:03.the match in the third-place play-off. So with one curling medal

:01:04. > :01:06.in the bag and another guaranteed tomorrow when Britain's men take on

:01:07. > :01:10.Canada in their final, it's fair to say that the Newsround team and

:01:11. > :01:14.millions more of you at home are gripped with a bad case of curling

:01:15. > :01:19.fever. Curling fever is continuing to sweep

:01:20. > :01:25.the UK. It's the event everyone is talking about, curling. Oh, my

:01:26. > :01:32.goodness! Shops have run out of curling equipment. Everybody wants

:01:33. > :01:37.to have a go at curling. Curling. Curling. Curling. The fists are in

:01:38. > :01:41.the air! OK, that may be slightly over the top, but it's fair to say

:01:42. > :01:46.that a lot of us are getting caught up in the curling drama at Sochi

:01:47. > :01:51.2014. But how do you play? The aim of the game is to get your team's

:01:52. > :01:55.stones close to the centre of this target, called the "house". Get

:01:56. > :01:59.closer than your opponent and you'll score more points. Sweepers brush

:02:00. > :02:03.the ice using a special broom to make sure the ice surface is

:02:04. > :02:07.perfectly smooth. A single hair can alter the direction the stone is

:02:08. > :02:11.travelling. As well as their brooms, players need special shoes to walk

:02:12. > :02:15.on the ice. Here we have a pair of curling shoes for a right-handed

:02:16. > :02:18.player. So on the left foot here we have some plastic, which makes this

:02:19. > :02:22.sole very slippery. On the other side, we have some soft rubber pads

:02:23. > :02:26.here, which help you grip. And the good news is it's not over yet. The

:02:27. > :02:34.men's curling finals take place tomorrow, and Team GB has high hopes

:02:35. > :02:37.for a gold medal. Go Team GB! Back here in the UK, there was an

:02:38. > :02:40.earthquake this afternoon. Experts say it happened five kilometres

:02:41. > :02:44.under the Bristol channel between North Devon and the coast of Gower

:02:45. > :02:48.in South Wales. It was recorded at around 1:20 this afternoon, and

:02:49. > :02:52.people nearby said it sent their houses rocking, but no damage has

:02:53. > :02:56.been reported and no-one was hurt. That's all from me today. Ayshah is

:02:57. > :02:59.back here tomorrow morning at 7:40. Bye.
