:00:31. > :00:33.The Prime Minister David Cameron has said wants people to decide

:00:34. > :00:36.whether the UK should stay in or leave an important club

:00:37. > :00:45.Here is he making that announcement just a short while ago.

:00:46. > :00:51.We are approaching one of the biggest decisions this country will

:00:52. > :00:57.face in our lifetimes. Whether to remain in a reformed European Union

:00:58. > :01:02.or to leave. The choice goes to the heart of the kind of country we want

:01:03. > :01:03.to be. And the future we want for our children.

:01:04. > :01:06.The Prime Minister wants adults to take part in a special vote

:01:07. > :01:08.called a referendum on the 23rd of June.

:01:09. > :01:12.Although children won't be able to take part in that vote,

:01:13. > :01:15.the decision made will have a big impact on your lives.

:01:16. > :01:20.Let's take a really quick look with Ayshah.

:01:31. > :01:36.It's a club of 28 countries from around Europe who work together.

:01:37. > :01:44.and its own money, the Euro, used by most of its members,

:01:45. > :01:48.Countries join the EU because they think it will help

:01:49. > :01:52.But now, British Prime Minister David Cameron has promised to hold

:01:53. > :01:58.a vote on whether or not the UK should stay in or leave the EU.

:01:59. > :02:01.Supporters of the EU think the UK is stronger as part of it.

:02:04. > :02:08.People who want to leave the EU say it forces too many rules on Britain.

:02:09. > :02:11.They say leaving will give British people more control over

:02:12. > :02:17.It will be up to adults around the UK to decide what's best
