:00:00. > :00:00.Hi, I'm Hayley with your Newsround update.

:00:00. > :00:11.The video game being taught in lessons.

:00:12. > :00:19.How new technology can help people who can't walk.

:00:20. > :00:21.First, one million tonnes of rock have been blasted away

:00:22. > :00:24.from the top of a mountain in Chile, in South America. Why?

:00:25. > :00:27.To make a flat spot to build the world's biggest ever telescope.

:00:28. > :00:33.It's called - wait for it - the European Extremely Large Telescope.

:00:34. > :00:37.It will have a huge mirror, made up of nearly 800 hexagon-shaped parts,

:00:38. > :00:43.which will allow scientists to see deeper into space than ever before.

:00:44. > :00:49.Well, the Longitude prize is asking the public to vote which one

:00:50. > :00:53.of six big world problems the money should be spent on trying to solve.

:00:54. > :00:56.Today's topic is Paralysis, and how the money could be spent improving

:00:57. > :01:05.the lives of people who can't walk. Here's Jenny.

:01:06. > :01:12.Over the last few decades are ability to help people with physical

:01:13. > :01:16.disabilities has improved a lot, but for people who are paralysed a

:01:17. > :01:18.wheelchair is still the best way to get around. There are 50,000

:01:19. > :01:20.wheelchair is still the best way to in the UK who are

:01:21. > :01:25.wheelchair is still the best way to the moment the possibility of

:01:26. > :01:32.repairing spire and -- spinal injuries is a long way off. Could

:01:33. > :01:36.engineering or robotics help? Sophie is testing a new device which offers

:01:37. > :01:44.her a chance to stand and walk independently. It was very surreal

:01:45. > :01:52.to select the opportunity to stand. I have not seen the view before! We

:01:53. > :01:55.all know that standing and walking is good for you, human beings were

:01:56. > :02:01.designed to move around in an upright position. But these

:02:02. > :02:07.exoskeletons need to be smaller, lighter and faster. As time goes on

:02:08. > :02:13.we will see a lot more fluid movement, a lot more balance, and

:02:14. > :02:19.certainly a reduction in size. The aim is to see the user, not the

:02:20. > :02:25.machine. There is also a hope that people could use machines like this

:02:26. > :02:32.just with their thoughts, and mind controlled robots are already in

:02:33. > :02:33.development. This is just one of the innovations put forward for the

:02:34. > :02:46.longer chewed prize. -- Longitude. Next, lots of you might play video

:02:47. > :02:49.games during your break times at school and when you get home

:02:50. > :02:52.but can you imagine being encouraged Well, more than 200 schools in the

:02:53. > :02:57.UK are doing exactly that, playing a special version of Minecraft

:02:58. > :02:59.in lessons to help them learn. It's thought

:03:00. > :03:01.the game could help children engage in class and help with subjects

:03:02. > :03:10.like maths, science and English. England have lost to Uruguay and

:03:11. > :03:19.moved closer to an early exit from the World Cup. Luis Suarez scored

:03:20. > :03:21.both goals. I am bitterly disappointed that everybody. We came

:03:22. > :03:25.with such high hopes disappointed that everybody. We came

:03:26. > :03:37.been able to deliver. It is a major sadness for me. I don't think we let

:03:38. > :03:38.the country down. We made a mistake with Luis Suarez's second goal and

:03:39. > :03:41.that has put us out. Leah's been in Rio for Newsround to

:03:42. > :03:44.cover all the footy action hosting such a massive tournament

:03:45. > :03:48.has affected people living there. to see what life is like living in

:03:49. > :03:58.Brazil. Brazil is a fascinating country,

:03:59. > :04:03.full of energy and colour. During that time I have tried to capture

:04:04. > :04:08.some of that by taking lots of pictures on my phone, but now I want

:04:09. > :04:13.to find out what it is like growing up here as a kid and whether hosting

:04:14. > :04:18.the World Cup has had an impact on their lives. Overall half 1 million

:04:19. > :04:24.foot all fans are expected to do visit Brazil during the World Cup,

:04:25. > :04:28.so what is it like to have the world's biggest football show on

:04:29. > :04:33.your doorstep? I am very glad to have the World Cup in Brazil, many

:04:34. > :04:41.people are coming here to visit the games, I hope to make friends from

:04:42. > :04:44.other countries. I only see Argentines. They have a lot of

:04:45. > :04:51.trailers and cars, they love the whole. Brazil has its problems.

:04:52. > :04:56.Crime is a big worry for kids in the big cities. A lot of things worry me

:04:57. > :05:01.because we don't know what is going to happen in the next five minutes,

:05:02. > :05:12.the next day, the next few weeks. We need to have some precaution. Some

:05:13. > :05:20.people say that Ozil is very safe but we know it is not. Thieves can

:05:21. > :05:27.rub you any time. But just like back in the UK these boys have hopes and

:05:28. > :05:32.dreams for the future. I want to be a journalist because I write and

:05:33. > :05:40.speak very well. I would like to be an airline pilot. Although these

:05:41. > :05:42.boys live more than 5000 miles from most of you, their lives perhaps

:05:43. > :05:48.have more in common than you might think.

:05:49. > :05:51.That's all from me, Newsround's back at 4:20 this afternoon.

:05:52. > :05:55.And head over to the website to send us your questions for
