0:00:05 > 0:00:08Hey Newsrounders - I'm Hayley and I'm ready to roll
0:00:08 > 0:00:10with this lot today.
0:00:10 > 0:00:13The turtle that took a wrong turn and ended up in a pool.
0:00:13 > 0:00:18And the city birds who need a little helping hand from humans.
0:00:26 > 0:00:30First, hundreds of people attended a vigil in North London last night
0:00:30 > 0:00:33after the terror attack that took place in the area early
0:00:33 > 0:00:34on Monday morning.
0:00:34 > 0:00:37A van was driven into a crowd of people
0:00:37 > 0:00:39coming out of a mosque.
0:00:39 > 0:00:42Several people were hurt, and one person has sadly died.
0:00:42 > 0:00:47A man has been arrested and police say the attacker acted alone.
0:00:47 > 0:00:50Prime Minister Theresa May has spoken out to say the UK
0:00:50 > 0:00:53will not give in to hate.
0:00:53 > 0:00:55Martin went to a school in North London earlier today
0:00:55 > 0:00:58to speak to some kids who live nearby, and they told
0:00:58 > 0:01:01him how important the community is to them.
0:01:01 > 0:01:05Because of the terror attacks many Muslim people now have to suffer,
0:01:05 > 0:01:10even though they weren't involved in any of this.
0:01:10 > 0:01:14I feel very sorry and we as a community, we all hope and give
0:01:14 > 0:01:17all our love and care to try and help the people who were injured
0:01:17 > 0:01:21or died unfortunately.
0:01:21 > 0:01:24The fact about Muslims being targeted is really worrying me
0:01:24 > 0:01:27because I have many friends that are Muslim and they really do
0:01:27 > 0:01:30help me through a lot of things, when I'm sad or anything like that
0:01:30 > 0:01:35and I wouldn't like the thought of them getting hurt.
0:01:35 > 0:01:38Our community is really diverse and that makes us strong and it
0:01:38 > 0:01:39will keep us together.
0:01:39 > 0:01:43It's very important to not give up and stick together
0:01:43 > 0:01:49and we are all caring about each other.
0:01:49 > 0:01:51The families that have lost or their loved ones that
0:01:51 > 0:01:54were injured, need to know that people around them are
0:01:54 > 0:01:57coming to support them.
0:01:57 > 0:01:59We have family, we have friends, but the community
0:01:59 > 0:02:02is the next best thing.
0:02:02 > 0:02:05I feel like if we don't have the community I guess
0:02:05 > 0:02:09we are going nowhere so we've got to stay strong together to make
0:02:09 > 0:02:11sure we can tackle this because we can beat them,
0:02:11 > 0:02:16it's just we need the help of everybody.
0:02:16 > 0:02:19You can read more about this story on our website,
0:02:19 > 0:02:22along with today's other stories, and don't forget if you're upset
0:02:22 > 0:02:24by anything in the news, there's loads of help
0:02:24 > 0:02:33and advice there too.
0:02:33 > 0:02:36Next - city birds don't always get an easy time of it.
0:02:36 > 0:02:39So a hospital has opened in New York to treat them.
0:02:39 > 0:02:40Watch this.
0:02:40 > 0:02:41New York City.
0:02:41 > 0:02:43Some call it a concrete jungle.
0:02:43 > 0:02:46Full of wildlife.
0:02:46 > 0:02:50That's if you look a little closer.
0:02:50 > 0:03:01You might spot birds like these American kestrels.
0:03:02 > 0:03:05He looks really alert, these are really good signs.
0:03:05 > 0:03:07But these guys are being treated right now in
0:03:07 > 0:03:10a hospital just for birds.
0:03:10 > 0:03:13Even though you might not expect to see them in a big city
0:03:13 > 0:03:16like New York, they actually tend to nest in old city buildings where
0:03:16 > 0:03:26there is shelter and lots of food.
0:03:27 > 0:03:30But it can mean they face lots of danger, like falling
0:03:30 > 0:03:34out of the nest and end up wobbling along a sidewalk.
0:03:34 > 0:03:37We get over 120 different species, but they are mainly,
0:03:37 > 0:03:40the main species that we get just because we are located on the west
0:03:40 > 0:03:43side are the pigeons, sparrows and starlings.
0:03:43 > 0:03:46The team here look after hundreds of other birds too.
0:03:46 > 0:03:48Providing them with food, medicine, care and cleaning.
0:03:48 > 0:03:51City life is extremely dangerous, there is so much danger out there,
0:03:51 > 0:03:58that the birds can get into.
0:03:58 > 0:03:59Like the buildings, during the migratory season's
0:03:59 > 0:04:02thousands of birds migrate over New York City and hit
0:04:02 > 0:04:04the windows and they just crash and land on the ground.
0:04:04 > 0:04:06So it's our responsibility as citizens and a city
0:04:06 > 0:04:09to rescue these animals.
0:04:09 > 0:04:12The team have just had a new new patient in,
0:04:12 > 0:04:14a pigeon with a damaged wing.
0:04:14 > 0:04:19But they've managed to fix this bird up pretty quickly.
0:04:19 > 0:04:22Even though the team treat around 50 birds a day the biggest achievement
0:04:22 > 0:04:29is when they can release them fit and healthy back into the wild.
0:04:32 > 0:04:35Next - check out this mummy sea turtle who found her way
0:04:35 > 0:04:39into a families swimming pool in Florida.
0:04:39 > 0:04:42Its thought she got lost after hiding her eggs in the beach.
0:04:42 > 0:04:45She was eventually rescued and put back where she belongs.
0:04:45 > 0:04:50Which is quite a feat considering she weights 250 pounds,
0:04:50 > 0:04:54which is about two of me!
0:04:54 > 0:04:59That's all from me, Newsround's back tomorrow morning with Ricky.
0:04:59 > 0:05:00See
0:05:00 > 0:05:00See you
0:05:00 > 0:05:00See you then,
0:05:00 > 0:05:01See you then, bye-bye.
0:05:05 > 0:05:08Yo, whassup? Do you watch CBBC shows on your phone or tablet?
0:05:08 > 0:05:09Oh, wait.
0:05:09 > 0:05:11On your phone or TABLET?
0:05:11 > 0:05:14Well, you've got to do something really important, yeah?
