:00:10. > :00:12.Hi everyone, Leah here with today's top stories.

:00:13. > :00:16.First, Great Britain's Paralympic stars are arriving home from Rio

:00:17. > :00:18.this morning, after their most successful Games

:00:19. > :00:22.in nearly 30 years, winning 147 medals including 64 golds.

:00:23. > :00:26.They're due to touch down shortly at London's Heathrow Airport.

:00:27. > :00:30.But one athlete who's come home a bit earlier is Paralympic champion

:00:31. > :00:38.sprinter Jonnie Peacock who joins me now.

:00:39. > :00:45.He has got his amazing gold medal. How you feeling this morning? Good,

:00:46. > :00:52.it is a little bit early for me. At enjoying it. You were a fan when you

:00:53. > :00:59.were younger so some of our viewers have been in touch. Tom says, what

:01:00. > :01:09.is it like to be a Paralympic gold medallist? I will hold this. Go

:01:10. > :01:13.crazy. It is awesome. I am so blessed to have a great team around

:01:14. > :01:17.me, I have an awesome coach and set up around me, so it shows if you

:01:18. > :01:21.have got a good team and you put your mind to it, you can achieve

:01:22. > :01:25.anything. I didn't even know I was a good sprinter Angela gave it a go.

:01:26. > :01:32.If you want to try a sport just give it a go because you never know.

:01:33. > :01:37.Kirsty says, how did you get into sprinting and who were your sporting

:01:38. > :01:43.inspirations? I got into sprinting by going down to London and trying

:01:44. > :01:48.out lots of different sports, wheelchair tennis, pistol shooting,

:01:49. > :01:52.I did 60 metres sprint and loved it that I did it three times. Because

:01:53. > :01:56.of that I got called up to do a programme and before I knew it I was

:01:57. > :02:02.set up with the coach and things snowballed. I didn't know I would be

:02:03. > :02:08.good at it, I gave it a go and someone said, you could be all

:02:09. > :02:15.right. In terms of sporting inspirations, as a kid I was David

:02:16. > :02:22.Beckham man, posted on the wall. Anyway he went I would follow. If it

:02:23. > :02:29.was Manchester United or Real Madrid. He was my inspiration. And

:02:30. > :02:33.you will continue to be the inspiration to children moving

:02:34. > :02:41.forward. How does that feel? I don't know, I never really see it like

:02:42. > :02:44.that! It is simple enough to say if anyone thinks they have a

:02:45. > :02:47.possibility to get something like this, try lots of different sports,

:02:48. > :02:51.because you do not know what you're going to enjoy until you try it. I

:02:52. > :02:58.didn't try athletics until I was 15 or 16. We love your name, Jenny

:02:59. > :03:04.Peacock, and we thought we were testy with other sporting stars --

:03:05. > :03:12.Johnny Peacock, and we thought we would test you with other sporting

:03:13. > :03:21.names. Who is that? Tiger Woods. One point, and next? A basketball

:03:22. > :03:32.player. Won gold at the Olympics. I am not that into basketball! That is

:03:33. > :03:38.Sue Bird. This is a skateboarder. Tony Hawks! I used to play the

:03:39. > :03:45.games. This medal shakes, jealous about that? -- tell us about that.

:03:46. > :03:49.Because some guys are visually impaired, they got something special

:03:50. > :03:53.here, so it makes a bit of the noise. Thank you for joining us.

:03:54. > :03:56.It's that time of year where grey seal pups are being born on beaches

:03:57. > :03:58.around the UK as pupping season gets going.

:03:59. > :04:00.But experts in Cornwall in the south-west of England

:04:01. > :04:03.are worried, because some of them are being forced into the water

:04:04. > :04:06.Ayshah's been looking into this for us.

:04:07. > :04:09.The golden beaches and the rocky coves of the UK coast are home

:04:10. > :04:11.to 38% of the world's population of grey seals.

:04:12. > :04:14.If you're really lucky, you might see one out at sea

:04:15. > :04:18.Or you can spot them on beach just having a nap.

:04:19. > :04:23.This is Snoozy, one of the first pups of the season.

:04:24. > :04:27.But Snoozy has had a tough time after being pushed back into the sea

:04:28. > :04:31.by passers-by who thought that's where he should be.

:04:32. > :04:34.Young seal pups are very small when they come out of their mothers,

:04:35. > :04:37.and they have a lot of growing to do.

:04:38. > :04:39.They don't have any muscle so they aren't very good swimmers.

:04:40. > :04:43.The last thing that we want people to do is put them back in the water.

:04:44. > :04:46.Grey seals are surprisingly rare, there are about the same number

:04:47. > :04:48.of them as there are African elephants in the world so it's

:04:49. > :04:52.really important that we look after them here and make sure that

:04:53. > :04:54.as many as of our pups survive as possible.

:04:55. > :04:57.I have just got a call about a baby seal pup being rescued so we're

:04:58. > :05:00.going to go straight to the sanctuary to find

:05:01. > :05:05.Rescue pups often end up here at the Cornish seal sanctuary,

:05:06. > :05:09.where they are cared for by a team of vets and animal experts.

:05:10. > :05:12.So the little fellow is off to get checked out,

:05:13. > :05:15.we can't go in any further, it's kind of like being in hospital.

:05:16. > :05:19.The doctor is going to have a look at him, they're going to get him

:05:20. > :05:21.hydrated and everything because he was out on his own,

:05:22. > :05:30.We had a phone call earlier this morning about a young seal pup

:05:31. > :05:33.that was potentially distressed, so a couple of our guys went down

:05:34. > :05:36.and found the seal pup and it was wedged between two rocks.

:05:37. > :05:40.We think it's probably about four weeks old.

:05:41. > :05:44.What would you say to people who saw grey seal pups on the beach?

:05:45. > :05:47.When a pup is on the beach, and it's on its own,

:05:48. > :05:50.people sometimes think that they need to chase it back

:05:51. > :05:53.into the water or physically pick it up and put it in the water

:05:54. > :05:55.but that's completely the wrong thing to do.

:05:56. > :05:58.If you do see a seal pup, leave it alone, keep well back

:05:59. > :06:01.from it, keep dogs away and just contact us and we'll get people

:06:02. > :06:06.The sanctuary have called the new arrival Orca.

:06:07. > :06:09.He is doing well and will probably be released in a few months.

:06:10. > :06:13.Fortunately, the work here has given these seals a fighting chance.

:06:14. > :06:17.But what the team wants to do is avoid them coming in the first

:06:18. > :06:23.place by leaving them well alone in the wild.

:06:24. > :06:30.That's all from me, Newsround's back at 4:20 this afternoon with loads

:06:31. > :06:32.more from the Paralympics GB homecoming at Heathrow Airport.
