:04:13. > :04:15.This huge crack has developed in the ice there and has caused some

:04:16. > :04:18.British scientists who are based nearby, to move their research labs,

:04:19. > :04:36.It goes on for miles. This huge cracks deep into the ice has been

:04:37. > :04:40.captured by a droning on task. The crackers in an area called the

:04:41. > :04:44.floating brunt ice shelf, just ten miles from the crack, British

:04:45. > :04:48.scientists are based at a station. The station is made up of big blue

:04:49. > :04:52.had is with a big red pod in the middle. They have made the decision

:04:53. > :04:56.to move their base because they don't know what will happen to the

:04:57. > :05:00.ice shelf in the next few months. Luckily, the pods are designed to

:05:01. > :05:04.move, with the likes fitted onto big skis. Next few months are important

:05:05. > :05:08.because the Antarctic winter will be starting and the area will be pitch

:05:09. > :05:13.black months. It also means it would be difficult to evacuate people from

:05:14. > :05:19.the area in the winter conditions. Temperatures get as low as -55

:05:20. > :05:22.Celsius. We have taken a prudent decision but in light of this new

:05:23. > :05:27.crack it will be best and safest to close the station in a controlled

:05:28. > :05:31.way as to bring our team home, because there are safety is

:05:32. > :05:35.paramount to us. The survey also say that cracks in ice shelves aren't

:05:36. > :05:40.unusual, but this new crack is growing. They plan to go back to the

:05:41. > :05:43.area in November to carry on their work when it is summertime again

:05:44. > :05:46.there. Until then, they will monitor the crack.
