:00:00. > :00:08.Good morning, Ayshah here with Friday's top stories. Coming up: The

:00:09. > :00:13.whole nation reaches for their brooms as the UK goes for Gold in

:00:14. > :00:22.the curling. And dogs have more in common with humans than we thought.

:00:23. > :00:26.The clock is ticking, with just over five hours to go until the final

:00:27. > :00:30.we've all been waiting for. Team GB's men facing off against Canada

:00:31. > :00:35.in the nations new favourite sport, curling. You'll need to be glued to

:00:36. > :00:39.your TVs from 1.30 this afternoon and all eyes will be on Team GB

:00:40. > :00:42.skipper Dave Murdoch who will be hoping to keep his cool and go for

:00:43. > :00:46.gold. Regardless of the result, Britain will equal their best ever

:00:47. > :00:53.medal record in a Winter Olympics with four medals, the best we've

:00:54. > :00:56.done since 1924. Next to Ukraine where the president's office has

:00:57. > :00:58.said that an agreement has been reached with European politicians

:00:59. > :01:01.which may help resolve the crisis in the country - although the

:01:02. > :01:05.opposition has not confirmed the claim. The talks came after a day of

:01:06. > :01:08.violent clashes in the capital Kiev - although no further fighting broke

:01:09. > :01:12.out over night. Seventy seven people have died in clashes since Tuesday

:01:13. > :01:16.and over five hundred people have been injured. Politicians from

:01:17. > :01:19.European countries have already agreed to impose sanctions, like

:01:20. > :01:23.travel bans, on those they think are responsible and have criticised the

:01:24. > :01:27.violence. If you want to know more about the crisis in Ukraine there's

:01:28. > :01:31.a guide on our website And if you've been upset by this or any other

:01:32. > :01:35.story you hear in the news, there's advice there as well. This will

:01:36. > :01:38.probably come as no surprise but we've had the wettest winter since

:01:39. > :01:42.records began. There's still a week to go until the season is officially

:01:43. > :01:45.recognised as over but the rainfall record has already been broken with

:01:46. > :01:50.the UK receiving over 486 millimetres of rain between 1st

:01:51. > :01:53.December and 19th February. The record comes after relentless storms

:01:54. > :02:01.and rainfall over the past two months which saw severe floods

:02:02. > :02:04.across many parts of England. Now, when you go to the shops you

:02:05. > :02:08.probably don't think about the type of money your using to buy things.

:02:09. > :02:13.But for people in Scotland that may have to change. In September people

:02:14. > :02:16.there will have to vote on whether Scotland should be a separate

:02:17. > :02:20.country to rest of the UK - and there's a big argument over what

:02:21. > :02:25.kind of money people might have to use if the country becomes

:02:26. > :02:29.independent. Nel's got more. Whether you live in Wales, Northern Ireland,

:02:30. > :02:33.Scotland or England, you will be using the same money. At the moment,

:02:34. > :02:39.everyone in the UK uses the pound to pay for things. In other kroints,

:02:40. > :02:43.they -- countries they use different money like the euro. On 18th

:02:44. > :02:46.September people in Scotland will be asked should Scotland be an

:02:47. > :02:50.independent country. Those for independence say that even if

:02:51. > :02:54.Scotland becomes separate from the rest of the United Kingdom, people

:02:55. > :02:58.here will still be able to use the pound to buy things. But the man in

:02:59. > :03:03.charge of money for the UK Government, George Osborne, said it

:03:04. > :03:07.might not work and Scottish people would need to use different Monday

:03:08. > :03:13.y. Ing I have come to -- money. I have come to a school to see what

:03:14. > :03:21.kids think. I think we should keep the pound. Here at the Border we

:03:22. > :03:26.would have two currencies. They should keep it. Because we have

:03:27. > :03:31.learned our currency. We can just make our own currency and just make

:03:32. > :03:37.it and then just make it and we will deal with it and we can just get on

:03:38. > :03:41.with our lives. If we go shopping in England, it might be a bit annoying

:03:42. > :03:47.for us, because we won't have the right currency. But we will have to

:03:48. > :03:50.carry on. When the time comes to decide yes or no to independence,

:03:51. > :03:56.whether it will keep the pound is something voters will be thinking

:03:57. > :04:00.about. Some footy news for you - and it was a mixed night for Tottenham

:04:01. > :04:03.and Swansea in the Europa League. Spurs lost 1-0 against FC Dinipro

:04:04. > :04:07.after Jan Vertongen gave away this penalty. The result means Tottenham

:04:08. > :04:11.have it all to do in the return leg on 27th February. Elsewhere, Swansea

:04:12. > :04:16.City put in a cracking performance drawing 0-0 against Napoli. Although

:04:17. > :04:21.the Swans didn't score they did come close on several occasions - Wilfred

:04:22. > :04:25.Boney with this effort. Animal news - and scientists have found out more

:04:26. > :04:29.about the bond humans have with dogs. By placing dogs in a scanner,

:04:30. > :04:32.a team from Hungary in Eastern Europe has found that the canine

:04:33. > :04:35.brain reacts to voices in the same way that the human brain does -

:04:36. > :04:40.especially when they hear emotionally charged sounds like

:04:41. > :04:44.laughter. Sticking with our furry friends and pet owners in Sochi have

:04:45. > :04:47.been getting into the Winter Olympic spirit by dressing their animals in

:04:48. > :04:51.the same outfits worn by the Russian Olympic team. Rabbits, cats, parrots

:04:52. > :04:58.and dogs have all been getting involved - Snow way! Yes way That's

:04:59. > :05:00.all for now, Ricky's back this afternoon. See ya
