0:00:51 > 0:00:56Today we are on our way to the state capitol to speak to some lawmakers

0:00:56 > 0:00:59in charge there about ways we can make our schools safer

0:00:59 > 0:01:05and ways to place controls on guns in our country.

0:01:05 > 0:01:08I do not feel safe in my school.

0:01:08 > 0:01:10I was incredibly afraid.

0:01:10 > 0:01:13I was scared for all my friends, I was scared for my little

0:01:13 > 0:01:15sister and everyone there.

0:01:15 > 0:01:19They need to know that that should never ever happen to anybody else,

0:01:19 > 0:01:23no one should have to feel the fear that I felt.

0:01:23 > 0:01:25We want to talk to lobby groups about making laws more strict

0:01:25 > 0:01:29so that less people have access to guns and other weapons,

0:01:29 > 0:01:31so less kids get hurt.

0:01:31 > 0:01:32The students are not alone.

0:01:32 > 0:01:36Many people in the United States want the gun laws made tougher but,

0:01:36 > 0:01:40at the same time, many people want them to remain the same.

0:01:40 > 0:01:42In recent years politicians have decided to keep the gun

0:01:42 > 0:01:45laws mostly unchanged.

0:01:45 > 0:01:48But the students on board the bus today say that they think they can

0:01:48 > 0:01:52convince the politicians to make the gun laws safer and they drove

0:01:52 > 0:01:55eight hours today to talk to them about it.

0:01:55 > 0:01:57I'm so proud of all my friends.

0:01:57 > 0:02:00We are young, not much older than you are, but we are really

0:02:00 > 0:02:02making a big difference I think.

0:02:02 > 0:02:03Many of these students have never been involved

0:02:03 > 0:02:06with politics but they say they are just getting started.

0:02:06 > 0:02:08Next month they will go all the way to Washington,

0:02:08 > 0:02:11DC where they say they will hold a protest and tell the adults

0:02:11 > 0:02:14that they need to do more to keep America's kids safe.
