:00:16. > :00:18.First, a powerful earthquake has struck in the sea,

:00:19. > :00:22.It happened in the early hours of this morning and caused damage

:00:23. > :00:34.These pictures captured when the earthquake struck.

:00:35. > :00:36.It hit here, in the sea between Turkey and the Greek island

:00:37. > :00:39.of Kos, just after 1.30 in the morning there.

:00:40. > :00:41.In the main town of Kos, some buildings and roads

:00:42. > :00:44.After the quake struck, many people spent the night outside,

:00:45. > :00:47.deciding that it was safer than being inside.

:00:48. > :00:50.Two people, from Sweden and Turkey died and its thought hundreds

:00:51. > :00:57.Kos is a popular place to go on holiday, but lots of tourists

:00:58. > :00:59.there have decided to come home, and are waiting at the

:01:00. > :01:03.There are long queues and delays for many of those waiting.

:01:04. > :01:05.In Bodrum in Turkey, the quake triggered powerful waves,

:01:06. > :01:14.The advice from the government here in the UK for people

:01:15. > :01:17.in the areas affected, or travelling to them

:01:18. > :01:19.is to be aware that there's a possibility of aftershocks -

:01:20. > :01:21.these are smaller earthquakes that happen after the first

:01:22. > :01:25.And to get in touch with the holiday company

:01:26. > :01:27.you've booked flights and accommodation with.

:01:28. > :01:29.Emergency services in Turkey and Kos are now working hard

:01:30. > :01:34.If anything you've seen upsets you there's loads of help

:02:19. > :02:21.were trapped on the French beaches of Dunkirk, surrounded by the German

:02:22. > :02:30.It was a dangerous moment. If the British troops couldn't get away,

:02:31. > :02:34.the war could be lost. Back in Britain, a ragtag fleet of 900 votes

:02:35. > :02:37.from battleships to fun boats were called up at short notice by the

:02:38. > :02:40.promised at the time, Winston Churchill. Correction macro Prime

:02:41. > :02:42.Minister of the time. Their job was to rescue the soldiers

:02:43. > :02:45.and bring them back to the safety You can practically

:02:46. > :02:48.see it from here. Now this incredible story has been

:02:49. > :02:59.turned into a movie. It's a very emotional story,

:03:00. > :03:01.you're in with the characters Nearly a quarter of a million

:03:02. > :03:06.men were rescued from It was another five years and many

:03:07. > :03:15.battles later before the war finally ended,

:03:16. > :03:20.but the story of the little ships that played their part,

:03:21. > :03:22.and the ordinary people who risked their lives,

:03:23. > :03:27.continues to be told. Next what's the most exciting thing

:03:28. > :03:30.you've ever found on a family walk? Well 10-year-old Jude from America

:03:31. > :03:46.stumbled on something Back in November of last year me and

:03:47. > :03:48.my family decided to go on a bike ride.

:03:49. > :04:00.So far so ordinary, right? I went to the canal, I tripped on a task. On

:04:01. > :04:05.what? A task. My face landed next to the bottom jaw. I looked further up

:04:06. > :04:10.and saw another task. OK, we should explain. The thing Jude had tripped

:04:11. > :04:15.over really was a task. From an ancient fossil buried in the ground.

:04:16. > :04:19.It's from a creature 1.2 million years old called stager mastodon.

:04:20. > :04:26.They were from the same family as elephants and mammoths. They would

:04:27. > :04:30.have roamed parts of the US until 11,700 years ago. Jude called the

:04:31. > :04:36.experts and they started a big project to get this parcel out

:04:37. > :04:41.safely. Peter from New Mexico State University led the team, so how big

:04:42. > :04:45.a deal is the discovery? The fossil is probably about 1.2 million years

:04:46. > :04:52.old. This may be the only second that was found in New Mexico. Great
