:00:18. > :00:22.Hello guys. Ricky and Leah here tonight. We've got all the big

:00:22. > :00:25.stories for you, so stay tuned for some of this.

:00:25. > :00:31.Find out why these Romans are racing chariots in Wales.

:00:31. > :00:34.And we meet Harry, the paragliding pooch!

:00:34. > :00:37.First our top story, and we're heading to Pakistan, because there

:00:37. > :00:42.are calls from around the world for the release a Christian girl who

:00:42. > :00:45.was arrested in the capital city, Islamabad. The girl, who we think

:00:45. > :00:50.is around ten to 13 is accused of burning pages from the Islamic holy

:00:50. > :00:56.book, the Koran. The country has strict laws when it comes to the

:00:56. > :00:59.Koran. I've been finding out what it means for anyone who breaks them.

:00:59. > :01:03.This is the neighbourhood where Rimsha grew up. Although Pakistan

:01:03. > :01:06.is a mainly Muslim country, some Christians live here too. It's

:01:06. > :01:13.quiet now, but last week this waste ground was full of angry crowds

:01:13. > :01:17.after Rimsha was accused of setting fire to pages from the Koran. It

:01:17. > :01:22.might be hard to imagine that a schoolgirl could get into so much

:01:22. > :01:28.trouble and be put in danger for damaging a book. Even now we don't

:01:28. > :01:32.know that she did. But for Muslims the Koran is sacred. They believe

:01:32. > :01:37.it's the word of God and damaging it is viewed as insulting.

:01:37. > :01:42.respect it and show the utmost honour towards the holy Koran

:01:42. > :01:47.Pakistan if people are accused of these sort of crimes, then the

:01:47. > :01:52.death penalty is an option. But in most case there is's never been a

:01:52. > :01:58.death penalty in relation to these crime es. It is not the first time

:01:58. > :02:03.this sort of situation has fuelled anger. There was outcry around the

:02:03. > :02:09.world when a Danish newspapered insulting images of the prophet

:02:09. > :02:13.Mohammed. Violent protests followed, including the bombing of an airport.

:02:13. > :02:18.The American flag was also set alight. Rimsha's house has been

:02:18. > :02:23.locked up and her family have moved away. There are different reports

:02:23. > :02:27.about how old she is and whether she might be mentally ill. Police

:02:27. > :02:33.say they've arrested Rimsha and locked her up, partly to protect

:02:33. > :02:38.her from angry mobs, but Christian groups say she's a vulnerable child

:02:38. > :02:43.who needs help. Xavier Williams spoke to her after she was arrested.

:02:43. > :02:50.Can you describe her condition in one sentence? It breaks my heart.

:02:50. > :02:54.She is a child. She did not do anything intention aerblgs so her

:02:54. > :02:58.actions must be -- intentionally, so her actions must be treated as

:02:58. > :03:02.that of a child. Although cases like this are common in Pakistan,

:03:02. > :03:07.most often they are dropped. Pakistan's President has ordered an

:03:07. > :03:11.inquiry. The people fighting for Rimsha are hoping it won't be too

:03:11. > :03:14.long before they are -- before she is released.

:03:14. > :03:17.Now, communicating when you're hard of hearing is a frustrating problem

:03:17. > :03:20.for many people, including me. But there's a new gadget being tried

:03:21. > :03:30.out that could change all of that, and it's all down to these gloves.

:03:30. > :03:33.Nice to meet you. They record and measure the way people who are

:03:33. > :03:36.using sign language move their hands. It then translates it

:03:36. > :03:39.through a computer and speaks the words. It's been invented by a team

:03:39. > :03:42.in Ukraine. It's not available yet though, it's just a prototype at

:03:42. > :03:45.the moment. News just in - an action woman who

:03:45. > :03:48.was trying to become the first woman to swim from Cuba to Florida

:03:48. > :03:52.without a shark cage has given up the challenge It was Diana Nyad's

:03:52. > :03:54.fourth attempt to swim the 103 miles to America. On the way she

:03:54. > :04:02.had to battle with storms, jellyfish stings, and dodge sharks.

:04:02. > :04:10.But it's not all bad - she also got to swim with dolphins. Next to our

:04:10. > :04:15.daily update to the Curiosity robot on Mars. It has tested its robotic

:04:15. > :04:19.arm. NASA has announced it is sending another robot there in four

:04:19. > :04:23.years' time. It is hoped one will drill deep below the surface to

:04:23. > :04:26.discover how the planet is formed. Next we're heading to the Arctic,

:04:26. > :04:28.where scientists think ice is melting so fast that it could soon

:04:28. > :04:32.reach an all-time low. Research done by scientists in America

:04:32. > :04:35.suggests that if the ice continues to melt at its current rate, it

:04:35. > :04:38.will reach its lowest amount on record in the next few weeks.

:04:38. > :04:40.Arctic sea ice plays an important role in helping keep Polar regions

:04:40. > :04:43.cool and controlling the climate around the world.

:04:43. > :04:46.It's only a week since Team GB picked up their medals, packed up

:04:46. > :04:50.their bags and moved out of the Olympic Village. For two weeks the

:04:50. > :04:53.eyes of the world were on them, but now that the Games are over, what

:04:53. > :04:55.next? Bronze medallist Beth Tweddle is one of the athletes who's

:04:55. > :05:05.thinking about giving up competing internationally. She spoke to Joe

:05:05. > :05:16.

:05:16. > :05:20.Kick strong. Lift up, two twists, a big step back but she saved it!

:05:20. > :05:25.Congratulation on an amazing London 2012 Games. What's next for you?

:05:25. > :05:31.lot of chill time, seeing my boyfriend and family. I've got my

:05:31. > :05:36.dreams now and I finished one the one thing I had to achieve. That

:05:36. > :05:41.has been ten years in the making! There's other things I want to do.

:05:41. > :05:45.I will never walk away from gymnastics, I just wants to do

:05:45. > :05:48.other things in life. I will miss the competition side of it but not

:05:48. > :05:51.all the hours training. And if you're still missing

:05:51. > :05:53.watching all the amazing sporting action, get ready for something

:05:54. > :06:03.quite amazing. We're talking about the World Alternative Games. Expect

:06:04. > :06:05.

:06:05. > :06:09.snails, bathtubs and, er, wife # What's that coming over the hill

:06:09. > :06:12.# Is it a monster? #. No, but it is something rather strange - athletes

:06:12. > :06:21.dressed as Romans in a mountain bike chariot time trial! It's one

:06:21. > :06:24.of 35 unusual events in the World Alternative Games in Wales. Over

:06:24. > :06:29.two weeks there's kayaking in a bathtub, and bog snorkelling, an

:06:29. > :06:31.annual event here in Llanwrtyd Wells. The town is famed for

:06:31. > :06:37.peculiar sports, so with the Olympics coming, people here

:06:37. > :06:45.decided to put on their very own Games. They've even got the snails

:06:45. > :06:47.involved. I think it inspires people to make them think more

:06:47. > :06:51.about sport. Gold, silver and bronze medals are

:06:51. > :06:54.handed out, just like in London 2012, but the focus here is on the

:06:54. > :06:57.taking part. Competitors have come from all over the world, and so

:06:57. > :07:00.have some of the events, such as wife carrying, which started in

:07:00. > :07:04.Finland. We've had the Olympics, but these athletes are making a

:07:04. > :07:08.splash in a different way. Finally, to my favourite story of

:07:08. > :07:11.the day. It's not often you look in the sky and see a dog paragliding

:07:11. > :07:14.with it's owner. But if you're from Newcastle in Northern Ireland and

:07:14. > :07:17.happened to look up last week, that's exactly what you would have

:07:17. > :07:20.seen. Harry the dog was strapped into a paraglider with his owner,

:07:20. > :07:30.gliding over 2,000 feet from the peak of a nearby mountain to the

:07:30. > :07:41.

:07:41. > :07:45.bottom of a beach. So did Harry Harry is getting ready for takeoff.

:07:45. > :07:51.The ten-year-old collie cross is about to take to the skies above

:07:51. > :07:56.Newcastle for the first time. He's paragliding with his owner, Tony.

:07:56. > :08:06.The pilot and pooch were in the air for 20 minutes. It looks like Harry

:08:06. > :08:07.

:08:07. > :08:11.is loving every moment. Got him hooked in, made sure

:08:11. > :08:21.everything was good and off we went. At the beginning he thought it was

:08:21. > :08:28.

:08:28. > :08:37.a bit strange, but he relaxed very Even when we land, he just sat down

:08:37. > :08:41.on the sand on the beach and waited for me to unlaunch him. Tony has

:08:41. > :08:46.been paragliding for nine years and knows what he is doing. When Harry

:08:46. > :08:50.landed he was give an treat - cooked ham.
