:00:23. > :00:23.People in the US are getting really excited.
:00:24. > :00:27.Some will get a TOTAL solar eclipse, which means the sun will be
:00:28. > :00:29.completely blocked out by the moon, and everything will go dark,
:00:30. > :00:32.It's not happened there in nearly 40 years.
:00:33. > :00:38.Nada Tawfiq has this report for Newsround.
:00:39. > :00:40.In just a few hours this small family farm in western Kentucky
:00:41. > :00:42.will be absolutely packed with about a thousand
:00:43. > :00:43.visitors from across the
:00:44. > :00:49.And that's because NASA has declared this is the point of greatest
:00:50. > :00:56.What that means is that this is the best spot or the prime
:00:57. > :01:00.location to view that spectacular moment of darkness.
:01:01. > :01:03.When the Moon completely blocks the Sun's surface,
:01:04. > :01:06.the sky will go black for two minutes and 30 seconds, longer than
:01:07. > :01:11.This is a key location for scientists who want to study the
:01:12. > :01:18.NASA has set up here and reserved their space years in
:01:19. > :01:20.advance, they will be live streaming across the world.
:01:21. > :01:23.The owners have also opened up their land to the
:01:24. > :01:25.public, mostly for sky gazers who want to come
:01:26. > :01:32.They will use these protective special glasses and

:01:36. > :01:38.activities and the BBC will be here with them all.
:01:39. > :01:41.Well, that's what's in store for America today -
:01:42. > :01:44.but will we be able to catch the eclipse here?
:01:45. > :01:47.Astronomer Dr Morgan Hollis is in London for us now.
:01:48. > :02:00.No problem. What will we be able to see? We will be able to see a
:02:01. > :02:06.partial eclipse, the Moon just covers the edge of the Sun, it won't
:02:07. > :02:10.be so dramatic as in the US. Terry exciting, what time will we be able
:02:11. > :02:15.to see it and how long will it last for? At the last for just over half
:02:16. > :02:18.an hour, should be visible at about 8pm this evening if the weather is
:02:19. > :02:24.good and the sky is clear, there is no cloud anything like that. Fingers
:02:25. > :02:29.crossed. Indeed. Any specific areas of the UK that will get to see more
:02:30. > :02:33.than others? Should be seen across the UK from Cornwall to Scotland,
:02:34. > :02:37.you should be able to see the same amount. Excellent. What are your top
:02:38. > :02:41.tips? The most important thing, do not look at the Sun directly without
:02:42. > :02:46.special eclipse glasses, if you don't have those lasses there is a
:02:47. > :02:51.really great video on the newsround website that shows you how to make a
:02:52. > :02:55.special eclipse viewer out of an old box, that's a great way of watching.
:02:56. > :02:58.And what are you excited about? I'm looking forward to seeing it, it's
:02:59. > :03:05.the first time I've seen an eclipse so it will be exciting. Thank you
:03:06. > :03:06.very much for telling us about that. It's a pleasure.
:03:07. > :03:09.Most of you are either already back at school,
:03:10. > :03:10.or getting ready to start a new year.
:03:11. > :03:13.And it's not always easy to fit in to a new school
:03:14. > :03:17.That can be even harder if you have a disability.
:03:18. > :03:36.Hi, I am PJ, I'm 13, this is my story. I like this sport, I really
:03:37. > :03:43.do. In the past I wasn't able to do as much as I could because of my old
:03:44. > :03:47.future, it was heavy. I had next to no independence, had to be
:03:48. > :03:56.supervised all the time which was pretty awful. I needed a new
:03:57. > :04:01.wheelchair and thanks to a charity I got a new one which is helping in
:04:02. > :04:05.many different ways. It has made my life a lot better, now I can't
:04:06. > :04:09.manoeuvre greatly around the school and it allows me to play with my
:04:10. > :04:14.friends a lot more and allows me to play my favourite sport which is
:04:15. > :04:17.basketball. When I got my chair I was like very excited, I was so
:04:18. > :04:25.happy that I finally got a new wheelchair, this is how I feel in an
:04:26. > :04:31.emotive. Anybody starting school with a future, stay positive, get
:04:32. > :04:36.stuck in, get involved like everyone else. Don't worry that you're going
:04:37. > :04:37.to be different, you will make tonnes of friends and that will be a
:04:38. > :04:40.of fun the way through. Next, a quick round up
:04:41. > :04:43.of the top sports stories... Marcos Alonso scored twice,
:04:44. > :04:50.to give Chelsea their first win of the Premier League over
:04:51. > :04:51.Tottenham yesterday. The Blues bounced back
:04:52. > :04:53.from their opening-day loss to Burnley last week,
:04:54. > :04:55.and beat Spurs 2-1. Awesome British athlete, Mo Farah,
:04:56. > :04:58.has won his last ever track race in Britain,
:04:59. > :05:00.in the Men's 3,000 metres, at the Adding to the four
:05:01. > :05:04.Olympic titles he holds. His final track race EVER,
:05:05. > :05:06.will be next week in Zurich. After that he's switching
:05:07. > :05:16.to road racing. What people forget, as an athlete,
:05:17. > :05:20.it becomes something that I enjoy, hobby, and it became a job,
:05:21. > :05:23.I love what I do, but it can get real hard when you have so much
:05:24. > :05:26.pressure, you can't go anywhere but now,
:05:27. > :05:29.I'm going to the road, it's a completely new game,
:05:30. > :05:43.and I'm excited. That's all from the team this
