:00:00. > :00:08.Hi, guys, Ricky here with news of the smoking sea island that's
:00:09. > :00:18.appeared out of nowhere and the tiger and bear who are best buds.
:00:19. > :00:22.It's Newsround. Let's start with a Royal request for
:00:23. > :00:25.you to do more to help others. Prince Charles has been launching a
:00:26. > :00:29.special campaign today to encourage more children and young people to
:00:30. > :00:32.volunteer. He wants at least half of all kids, aged ten and over, to
:00:33. > :00:37.start helping out in their local community. Martin's been finding out
:00:38. > :00:44.what you think of the plans. Volunteering. It's about giving up
:00:45. > :00:47.your time to help others. And it could be anything from helping out
:00:48. > :00:51.as an RNLI lifeboat rescuer to doing things for old people or lending a
:00:52. > :00:55.hand at afterschool clubs. But are enough of you guys doing it? At the
:00:56. > :00:58.moment, just under three in ten young people volunteer and the
:00:59. > :01:01.country's future king wants it to be more. Today, the Prince of Wales
:01:02. > :01:04.launched a campaign at Buckingham Palace to get more young people
:01:05. > :01:09.helping others - along with our Prime Minister and the two other
:01:10. > :01:13.major big political leaders. To challenge, inspire and motivate
:01:14. > :01:16.young people in the service of others and in so doing, help to
:01:17. > :01:22.build their character, self-confidence and self-esteem and
:01:23. > :01:27.develop their individual potential. The aim is to get half of all young
:01:28. > :01:31.people, aged 10 to 20, doing some volunteering by the year 2020. Now
:01:32. > :01:37.some of you might be thinking - giving up your time for free - hang
:01:38. > :01:40.on, why should I bother? It is about getting out and meeting other
:01:41. > :01:43.people. It is about learning skills like being on time and how to run
:01:44. > :01:48.projects. It is about meeting other young people. We help out at Guides
:01:49. > :01:53.with old people who have got Christmas trees. It makes you feel
:01:54. > :01:56.really proud that you have helped someone else with their life. I
:01:57. > :02:01.would like to see more teaching about it at school so people are
:02:02. > :02:07.prepared and then they know what it is all about. These guys give up
:02:08. > :02:10.their spare time to be playground Buddies so whether you think it is
:02:11. > :02:16.your time or whether you think it is not worth your while, from today
:02:17. > :02:24.Prince Charles want you to explore the option of doing voluntary work
:02:25. > :02:28.in your spare time. Next, how much do the worries of day
:02:29. > :02:31.to day life stress you out? According to a new survey, hundreds
:02:32. > :02:34.of kids say they can't get a good night's sleep because of concerns
:02:35. > :02:38.about things like exams, bullying or family problems. Around 700 children
:02:39. > :02:42.took part in the research by YouGov and almost six in ten said they felt
:02:43. > :02:45.stressed at least once a week. Many say they lose out on sleep, miss
:02:46. > :02:48.meals, or stop seeing friends because of how they feel.
:02:49. > :02:52.Well, you've been telling us what makes you feel stressed over on the
:02:53. > :02:55.Newsround website all day. Jay in Harrow says it's his sister. And
:02:56. > :02:59.Zara and Emily both say homework and school. As do the kids of Class 8C
:03:00. > :03:03.in Hereford who say, "Having too much homework means you can't relax
:03:04. > :03:07.when you get home but to beat it we watch TV or play on the computer."
:03:08. > :03:10.But Simone in Bristol's told us, "My appearance makes me stressed because
:03:11. > :03:14.it's hard to keep up with fashion and if you don't, you're not cool."
:03:15. > :03:17.And if you do feel stressed about anything, there's loads of help and
:03:18. > :03:20.advice over on the Newsround website plus tips on how to cope.
:03:21. > :03:25.Moving on - the world's newest island has appeared - as if from
:03:26. > :03:27.nowhere - in the sea around Japan. A Japanese Navy ship spotted this
:03:28. > :03:32.smoking landmass rumbling up out of the ocean. Experts say it's been
:03:33. > :03:36.caused by a volcanic eruption that shifted the seabed around and forced
:03:37. > :03:40.it above the surface. They're waiting for it to cool before taking
:03:41. > :03:44.a closer look and haven't named it yet because it could still slip back
:03:45. > :03:48.under. Big news for all you gamers now. The
:03:49. > :03:50.Xbox One officially goes on sale tonight! The new console's being
:03:51. > :03:54.released in 13 countries from midnight. That's a week before
:03:55. > :03:59.rivals Sony launch the Playstation 4. So what's the Xbox like to play?
:04:00. > :04:05.The BBC's Mark Cieslak got a sneak peak. As far as the games are
:04:06. > :04:11.concerned, there are some obvious improvements. There is a greater
:04:12. > :04:15.number of lighting effects. Overall, there's more detail in all the
:04:16. > :04:20.on-screen images and the graphics feel smoother as you would expect
:04:21. > :04:22.from a brand-new home console. Finally, to the amazing pictures
:04:23. > :04:26.that show some of nature's most fearsome beasts can be mates. This
:04:27. > :04:32.is Baloo the bear snuggling with his tiger Shere Khan. They live with Leo
:04:33. > :04:36.the Lion at an animal sanctuary in America. In the wild, the species
:04:37. > :04:40.would always fight each other but keepers say this trio just love
:04:41. > :04:50.hanging out together. That's it for now, but there's loads
:04:51. > :04:55.more on the website. Leo the lion falls in second and he's a little
:04:56. > :05:01.wild child. They just know each other. Amazing stuff. I'm back at
:05:02. > :05:04.6.50pm right here. I'll see you then.
