0:03:04 > 0:03:07The sport of rugby league is fast and furious with big,

0:03:07 > 0:03:09strong players going head to head during a match.

0:03:09 > 0:03:12But now one team is looking to the dance world

0:03:12 > 0:03:15to give their future rugby stars an edge over their competition.

0:03:15 > 0:03:20Here's Jenny.

0:03:20 > 0:03:22Rugby league.

0:03:22 > 0:03:25It's full of hard hits, big kicks, tremendous

0:03:25 > 0:03:28tries.

0:03:28 > 0:03:30And ballet?

0:03:30 > 0:03:31That's right.

0:03:31 > 0:03:36I said ballet.

0:03:36 > 0:03:38Rugby league club Wigan Warriors have made dance classes a

0:03:38 > 0:03:40regular feature of training for their young 16

0:03:40 > 0:03:43to 19-year-old stars.

0:03:43 > 0:03:47When it first came about, I think the lads

0:03:47 > 0:03:50thought it was a bit of fun but as we looked more into it,

0:03:50 > 0:03:53the American football teams have done it and we

0:03:53 > 0:03:55are looking at it from danger prevention because we get ankle

0:03:55 > 0:03:58injuries in rugby league and this is one way to prevent it.

0:03:58 > 0:04:00Have the players enjoyed swapping their rugby

0:04:00 > 0:04:03boots for ballet shoes?

0:04:03 > 0:04:07At first I was a bit shocked and surprised that

0:04:07 > 0:04:10we were doing it, but we got told it was not a joke

0:04:10 > 0:04:13and we were going to be doing this and I jumped right in.

0:04:13 > 0:04:16It gives us a break from the rugby and it's

0:04:16 > 0:04:18good for your mindset and

0:04:18 > 0:04:20it's good for your knees, and it's like people

0:04:20 > 0:04:21with ankle injuries, it

0:04:21 > 0:04:24can strengthen them.

0:04:24 > 0:04:26It's good training and despite what you might

0:04:26 > 0:04:28think, tough training.

0:04:28 > 0:04:30I've never had sore legs like I've had sore

0:04:30 > 0:04:35legs after doing this.

0:04:35 > 0:04:38I always talk to my sister and she does it as

0:04:38 > 0:04:41well, and she said teaching that is good.

0:04:41 > 0:04:44And their ballet teacher hopes more professional teams in the UK

0:04:44 > 0:04:46will eventually see the benefits as well.

0:04:46 > 0:04:51I have worked hard to try and look at where they are getting

0:04:51 > 0:04:56injured, what movements we can do to help strengthen, and they have

0:04:56 > 0:04:59worked so hard and the improvement in such a short time, they are

0:04:59 > 0:05:01sports people and they want to be good at everything, including

0:05:01 > 0:05:03ballet.

0:05:03 > 0:05:06These future stars will be hoping that ballet can help them

0:05:06 > 0:05:12dance their way to rugby success.

0:05:12 > 0:05:16A woman who found a rare five pound note worth loads of money has given

0:05:16 > 0:05:19it to charity.

0:05:19 > 0:05:22It had a portrait of Jane Austen,

0:05:22 > 0:05:26which is quite tricky to spot, but it was found in Enniskillen

0:05:26 > 0:05:27in Northern Ireland.

0:05:27 > 0:05:29It's been confirmed the money raised from it, thought

0:05:29 > 0:05:31to be around ?50,000, will be given to Children in Need.

0:05:31 > 0:05:34Finally, you might have heard of guide dogs but how

0:05:34 > 0:05:35about helpful meerkats?

0:05:35 > 0:05:37Well, meet Mia and Kat.

0:05:37 > 0:05:40They're helping to entertain

0:05:40 > 0:05:43the people in a home for learning disabilities in North Yorkshire.

0:05:43 > 0:05:46The two animals just play around, but watching their games is proving

0:05:46 > 0:05:48very popular with the people who live there.

0:05:49 > 0:05:50That's all from me this morning.

0:05:50 > 0:05:53Newsround's back with Ricky at 4:20 this afternoon.

0:05:53 > 0:05:55Go online to see the underwater snake robot who's

0:05:55 > 0:05:56fixing oil pipelines.

0:05:56 > 0:05:58It's fascinating.
