0:00:09 > 0:00:11from the country of Belgium.

0:00:20 > 0:00:23We are starting today's programme with news from the country

0:00:23 > 0:00:25of Belgium in Europe.

0:00:25 > 0:00:28There were attacks in the capital city, Brussels, this morning.

0:00:28 > 0:00:31Ayshah has the story.

0:00:31 > 0:00:33People from around the world have been giving their support

0:00:33 > 0:00:36to the people of Belgium.

0:00:36 > 0:00:39It is after an attack in the city of Brussels this morning.

0:00:39 > 0:00:44Emergency services were there quickly to help anybody affected.

0:00:44 > 0:00:47Sadly, at least 30 people have died.

0:00:47 > 0:00:50The Prime Minister of Belgium has asked everyone to show

0:00:50 > 0:00:53calmness and pull together.

0:00:53 > 0:00:57It is not known for sure who was behind the attacks

0:00:57 > 0:01:00but the group that calls itself Islamic State has said

0:01:00 > 0:01:02that it is responsible.

0:01:02 > 0:01:05They carried out the attacks which took place in Paris

0:01:05 > 0:01:07in France last November.

0:01:07 > 0:01:10Last Saturday, the police in Belgium caught a man that they think

0:01:10 > 0:01:13was involved in the Paris attacks.

0:01:13 > 0:01:16They are now looking to see if what happened this morning

0:01:16 > 0:01:18is linked to that arrest.

0:01:18 > 0:01:21Now countries around the world have come forward to offer

0:01:21 > 0:01:22support to Belgium.

0:01:22 > 0:01:26We must be together, regardless of nationality

0:01:26 > 0:01:29or race or faith.

0:01:29 > 0:01:33British Prime Minister David Cameron has said the UK will do everything

0:01:33 > 0:01:34we can to help.

0:01:34 > 0:01:39We absolutely stand with them at this very difficult time.

0:01:39 > 0:01:42And Ayshah joins me on the sofa now.

0:01:42 > 0:01:45It's a very sad day for people in Belgium.

0:01:45 > 0:01:48What's been put in place to make sure people there, feel safe?

0:01:48 > 0:01:51There's loads of police and emergency services out

0:01:51 > 0:01:55on the street, doing all they can, and reassuring people who are there.

0:01:55 > 0:01:59For the moment Brussels Airport has been closed until tomorrow

0:01:59 > 0:02:02and all public transport has been shut down.

0:02:02 > 0:02:06And people in the areas affected have been going online and marking

0:02:06 > 0:02:11themselves as "safe" on social media to let their friends and family

0:02:11 > 0:02:14around the world know that they are OK.

0:02:14 > 0:02:17What should you do if you feel upset by what you've heard?

0:02:17 > 0:02:20It's natural to feel sad about what has happened.

0:02:20 > 0:02:23And it's really important to talk to people about how you feel,

0:02:23 > 0:02:26whether that's your mum, dad or a teacher.

0:02:26 > 0:02:29There's also lots of advice on the Newsround website too,

0:02:29 > 0:02:32on what to do if anything in the news upsets you.

0:02:32 > 0:02:35And what about if you're worried that something might happen

0:02:35 > 0:02:37in the UK?

0:02:37 > 0:02:41Police say what's happened in Brussels today has not made them

0:02:41 > 0:02:44more worried about the situation in the UK, but they're sending out

0:02:44 > 0:02:47extra officers to keep people safe.

0:02:47 > 0:02:51It's also important to remember that the reason this is in the news

0:02:51 > 0:02:54is because it's a very unusual thing to happen.

0:02:54 > 0:02:57These attacks are rare and although it's scary to hear

0:02:57 > 0:02:59about, it's very unlikely that anything like this would ever happen

0:02:59 > 0:03:03to you, your family or anyone that you know.

0:03:56 > 0:03:59The final group won't be able to use any technology whatsoever

0:03:59 > 0:04:05for the next three days.

0:04:07 > 0:04:12It says here that using tech before bedtime can also affect your sleep.
