:00:00. > :00:12.It's Tuesday 22nd April. This is Newsround with me Ricky. On the way.

:00:13. > :00:15.Water Voles making a comeback in Sussex. Find out which club will be

:00:16. > :00:26.playing Premier League footy next season. This is Newsround. First up,

:00:27. > :00:29.you've probably seen stories online and in the papers already this

:00:30. > :00:32.morning about David Moyes and his Manchester United future. The club

:00:33. > :00:35.says he hasn't been sacked but won't confirm if he'll be United's

:00:36. > :00:38.long-term manager. Various newspapers have claimed the club

:00:39. > :00:59.will say goodbye to him following a poor season. Earlier I spoke to BBC

:01:00. > :01:03.Sports Seth Bennett. All the club have said so far as he has not been

:01:04. > :01:07.sacked. Now, we expect for that to happen possibly a little but later

:01:08. > :01:10.on today the David Moyes's position now seems like it's not going to

:01:11. > :01:13.last much longer at Old Trafford. It's so disappointing for Manchester

:01:14. > :01:17.United fans. They are on their way to their worst season in 24 years in

:01:18. > :01:20.the Premier League which is incredible. That is not the first

:01:21. > :01:24.time we've heard rumours he might be facing the axe. Why today? You have

:01:25. > :01:28.got to think the embarrassment of losing 2-0 at his old club and the

:01:29. > :01:30.way Everton played, they were vibrant and played exciting

:01:31. > :01:33.football. Manchester United looked stodgy but this weekend was the

:01:34. > :01:36.weekend when they were ruled out of the Champions League. In the current

:01:37. > :01:39.world, that means big things financially because they would lose

:01:40. > :01:42.so much money from television rights. Who do we think might

:01:43. > :01:47.replace him if it is confirmed today he has been axed? They are saying

:01:48. > :01:51.it's going to be Ryan Giggs who will take over in the short term between

:01:52. > :01:55.now and the end of the season. And then the big favourite of Louis van

:01:56. > :01:59.Gaal, from the Netherlands, who will take them to Brazil, to the World

:02:00. > :02:02.Cup. After that, he's a free agent. He was linked with a job at Alex

:02:03. > :02:06.Ferguson considered retiring about ten years ago, so he would be the

:02:07. > :02:10.ideal man you would expect the stage. Now when it comes to sport,

:02:11. > :02:13.is it the winning or the taking part that counts? Well, a survey from the

:02:14. > :02:16.Marylebone Cricket Club suggests the taking part is more important for

:02:17. > :02:20.some school kids. They asked 1,000 children a series of questions and

:02:21. > :02:22.two thirds said they were not bothered by the competitive element

:02:23. > :02:26.in school sports. The poll also suggests that most kids feel their

:02:27. > :02:29.parents are more concerned about winning than the children

:02:30. > :02:33.themselves. Predators, loss of habitat and bad weather. Some of the

:02:34. > :02:36.factors being blamed for the decline in the number of water voles in the

:02:37. > :02:40.UK. According to the Environment Agency their numbers fell by a fifth

:02:41. > :02:43.in the last three years. But in one small part of Sussex, the water vole

:02:44. > :02:46.is fighting back. These conservationists are checking their

:02:47. > :02:49.traps for one of Britain's fastest declining mammals, the water vole.

:02:50. > :02:52.Many of these little creatures were tagged last year so the numbers

:02:53. > :02:56.could be monitored and in this area of the Sussex countryside, these

:02:57. > :03:01.little guys are on the up, despite the difficult conditions. They can

:03:02. > :03:05.have up to five or six litters a year so a single vole can equal a

:03:06. > :03:09.couple of hundred voles quite quickly. The reason for the research

:03:10. > :03:12.in this area is because last year, their habitat changed forever when

:03:13. > :03:15.sea defences were knocked down to make way for a better, more

:03:16. > :03:27.effective scheme to protect the coast. A new nature reserve has been

:03:28. > :03:30.built, too. It has salt water marshes on one side and freshwater

:03:31. > :03:34.on the other. What the study hopes to find out is whether the water

:03:35. > :03:37.voles are successfully moving from their old homes into the protection

:03:38. > :03:42.of the reserve and there are signs it seems to be working. This is a

:03:43. > :03:45.water vole. It's been put in quite a nice neat pile about the size of a

:03:46. > :03:49.tic-tac and he's putting it there as a marker to say this is my

:03:50. > :03:53.territory. Across the UK, the water vole has really suffered due to bad

:03:54. > :03:56.weather and predators like mink. A relative of the otter that preys on

:03:57. > :04:00.fish, small rodents and voles. In Sussex, over the last decade, we've

:04:01. > :04:03.had a 90% decrease in water voles. There are only a few sights where we

:04:04. > :04:07.have water voles' natural populations still occurring and this

:04:08. > :04:10.site is one of them. They are in there already starting to breed. The

:04:11. > :04:14.research will continue for another five years to give a close eye on

:04:15. > :04:17.the water vole population and ensure they and other native species find a

:04:18. > :04:24.new home amongst the reeds and marshes. This is the moment Burnley

:04:25. > :04:27.fans had been waiting for all season. Promotion to the Premier

:04:28. > :04:31.League. The Clarets are moving on up after a 2-0 win over Wigan Athletic.

:04:32. > :04:34.Even their mascot couldn't quite believe it. Last up, while lots of

:04:35. > :04:37.you were celebrating easter by eating eggs, kids over in America

:04:38. > :04:41.were busy rolling them. They were taking part in an annual easter egg

:04:42. > :04:45.roll at the White House where the President lives, pushing eggs along

:04:46. > :04:48.the grass with a spoon. US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle

:04:49. > :04:51.hosted the event and later read the children a story and joined in a

:04:52. > :04:55.game of basketball. That's all from me. Leah's back this afternoon. Bye

:04:56. > :04:57.bye.
