:02:14. > :02:19.listen to sign using hearing aids. Recently, her hearing has started to
:02:20. > :02:23.get worse so she decided to get some in called Cochlear implants. If you
:02:24. > :02:28.have a hearing problem, one part of the year that might not work is the
:02:29. > :02:33.Cochlear. An implant is a small device that is under the skin above
:02:34. > :02:36.the ear. I have pieces worn on the outside and works like a microphone
:02:37. > :02:40.to pick up signs which are turned into electrical thing also. These
:02:41. > :02:46.are sent to the implants and from there they go down the inner ear and
:02:47. > :02:49.up to the brain. Not everyone in the deaf community thinks they are a
:02:50. > :02:57.good idea. Something like a hearing he had or an implant takeaway there
:02:58. > :03:01.identity as being a deaf person. Our role is to provide information to
:03:02. > :03:06.people can make an informed choice about whether an implant is the
:03:07. > :03:08.option for them. Sula has had to wait five weeks after her operation
