:01:03. > :01:06.at the United States, it is over the Pacific Ocean and about to reach
:01:07. > :01:07.Oregon. It is the celestial event we have been waiting and anticipating
:01:08. > :01:12.for years. A huge shadow... swept across the US
:01:13. > :01:17.from coast to coast. Millions of people watched,
:01:18. > :01:19.using special glasses It's the first time in 99 years
:01:20. > :01:23.an eclipse like this has happened, and the whole event took
:01:24. > :01:25.around 90 minutes. In some places, darkness lasted
:01:26. > :01:27.for almost three minutes! Our reporter Nada Tawfik
:01:28. > :01:29.was watching in the state of Kentucky for Newsround,
:01:30. > :01:40.and sent us this report. The moment has come and come and
:01:41. > :01:46.gone and it was truly as spectacular as described. When the moon started

:01:51. > :01:55.Seeing the sun in the form of a crescent, which normally we only see

:02:17. > :02:20.But the true amazing part of this and what made the total solar
:02:21. > :02:27.eclipse so different from witnessing a partial eclipse was seeing how
:02:28. > :02:31.bright the corona, that a ring of light, how brightly that shines. I
:02:32. > :02:36.think that is what everybody was so in awe of for those two minutes and
:02:37. > :02:41.40 seconds, experiencing something that most here have never seen
:02:42. > :02:46.before. And it really was a true moment of joy, it was amazing to see
:02:47. > :02:47.everybody here witness it together. Awesome pictures.
