0:00:24 > 0:00:27First, one of the most spectacular space sights visible from the Earth,
0:00:27 > 0:00:30happened in America last night, as millions of people enjoyed
0:00:30 > 0:00:33an incredible total solar eclipse.
0:00:33 > 0:00:39Here's Jenny wiith a wee look back at what happened.
0:00:39 > 0:00:41This is the moment the US was plunged into
0:00:41 > 0:00:45darkness in the daytime.
0:00:45 > 0:00:47Millions of people watched across the country, using special
0:00:47 > 0:00:51glasses to protect their eyes.
0:00:51 > 0:00:53A huge shadow, cast by the moon as it passed
0:00:53 > 0:00:55in front of the sun, swept across the US
0:00:55 > 0:00:59from coast-to-coast.
0:00:59 > 0:01:03It's the first time in 99 years an eclipse like this has happened,
0:01:03 > 0:01:07and the whole event took around an hour and a half.
0:01:07 > 0:01:13BBC reporter Nada Tawfik was in Kentucky, and sent Newsround this.
0:01:13 > 0:01:15The moment has come and gone and it was truly
0:01:15 > 0:01:18as spectacular as described.
0:01:18 > 0:01:21When the moon started to creep up and block the sun, that alone
0:01:21 > 0:01:24was an amazing experience.
0:01:24 > 0:01:27Seeing the sun in the form of a crescent, which normally
0:01:27 > 0:01:28we only see the moon as.
0:01:28 > 0:01:31The real moment came up quickly, once the moon completely
0:01:31 > 0:01:34blocked the sun's surface, the whole environment here changed.
0:01:34 > 0:01:41It became instantly darker, the temperature dropped drastically,
0:01:41 > 0:01:45and everyone gathered together just in absolute awe.
0:01:45 > 0:01:49But the true, amazing part of this, and what made the total solar
0:01:49 > 0:01:54eclipse so different from witnessing a partial eclipse, was seeing
0:01:54 > 0:01:57how bright the corona - that's the ring of light -
0:01:57 > 0:02:00how brightly that shined.
0:02:00 > 0:02:03I think that's what everybody was so in awe of for those two
0:02:03 > 0:02:07minutes and 40 seconds, experiencing something that most
0:02:07 > 0:02:13here had never seen before.
0:02:13 > 0:02:15Yesterday we told you about a group of Scouts who'd travelled
0:02:15 > 0:02:18all the way to Yellowstone Park in the US to get the best
0:02:18 > 0:02:20view of the eclipse.
0:02:20 > 0:02:24They made special pin hole cameras so they could watch it safely
0:02:24 > 0:02:26and all had their special glasses to wear.
0:02:26 > 0:02:29So how did they get on?
0:02:29 > 0:02:31I'm Samuel, and we've just seen the eclipse,
0:02:31 > 0:02:32and it was absolutely incredible.
0:02:32 > 0:02:34I mean, the speed at which the temperature
0:02:34 > 0:02:37dropped and the light, it was just amazing, the ring
0:02:37 > 0:02:38of light around the eclipse.
0:02:38 > 0:02:43I was mesmerised.
0:02:43 > 0:02:45Wayne Rooney scored his 200th Premier League goal last night.
0:02:45 > 0:02:47Lets take a wee look at it.

0:02:56 > 0:02:58a point against Manchester City after the game ended 1-1.
0:02:58 > 0:03:01The 31-year-old Striker became only the second player to reach the 200
0:03:01 > 0:03:03goals after Alan Shearer, who is the top scorer
