:00:20. > :00:27.Hi, guys. This is Newsround, brought to you live just after five

:00:27. > :00:31.by the team here at Newsround HQ in London. You're with Ore and Sonali.

:00:31. > :00:34.Sit back and soak in all the stories we have coming your way.

:00:34. > :00:38.Including: what Horrible Histories, this music maestro and your mobile

:00:38. > :00:41.phone have got in common. And we've got our eyes on the falling

:00:41. > :00:44.satellite that could reach Earth in the next 24 hours.

:00:44. > :00:47.But first - barbaric and disturbing - that's how some doctors and

:00:47. > :00:50.politicians have been describing it. Two kids in Preston have been

:00:50. > :00:55.filmed taking part in a fight inside a cage, watched by a live

:00:55. > :00:58.audience of hundreds of grown-ups. The organisers say there's nothing

:00:58. > :01:04.wrong with it, and what they were doing wasn't cage fighting, but

:01:04. > :01:07.mixed martial arts. This story has kicked up quite a fuss.

:01:07. > :01:11.Being led out like a champion fighter as crowds cheer him on,

:01:11. > :01:17.this is nine-year-old Kian. But this video of him wrestling an

:01:17. > :01:22.eight-year-old boy has stirred up an angry reaction from some

:01:22. > :01:26.children's charities, doctors and politicians. Those in charge of the

:01:26. > :01:32.event, though, say that the boys weren't in any danger.

:01:32. > :01:35.They say no kicking or punching was allowed and Kian's parents are

:01:35. > :01:38.completely happy with him taking part. If he wasn't in this

:01:38. > :01:41.environment what would he be doing? Stood on a street corner causing

:01:41. > :01:47.havoc or doing something else. He has choose to do the sport. Have

:01:47. > :01:51.you choose to do it? Yeah. There's been no action taken by police

:01:51. > :01:55.because they say no one had broken the law. But there are still

:01:55. > :01:59.worries over whether it's right to put kids in this environment.

:01:59. > :02:05.feels very barbaric and I know there are concerns about children

:02:05. > :02:09.that young doing a sport like that. Kids charity the NSPCC warned

:02:09. > :02:11.parents against letting their kids do something like this. According

:02:11. > :02:15.to the British Medical Association which represents doctors, the

:02:15. > :02:17.scenes are disturbing and the kids should have been wearing head

:02:17. > :02:21.guards. They say there are other safer sports that can teach

:02:21. > :02:25.children discipline and help them keep fit.

:02:25. > :02:29.Not everyone agrees. I thought it was good what they

:02:29. > :02:38.were doing. There was no striking involved, so I didn't really feel

:02:38. > :02:41.they needed to wear protective equipment. It's no different from

:02:41. > :02:45.judo and so yeah, this is very child-friendly. It teaches them

:02:45. > :02:48.balance. It gets them in to a discipline.

:02:48. > :02:53.Kian plans to fight again and the organisers have said there are more

:02:53. > :02:56.events planned. Last-minute appeals to save a man

:02:56. > :03:01.in America who'd been sentenced to death for murder failed last night.

:03:01. > :03:04.Yesterday we told you about Troy Davis. More than 20 years ago he

:03:04. > :03:07.was found guilty of killing a police officer. He was put to death

:03:07. > :03:10.after a final appeal from his lawyers failed. More than a million

:03:10. > :03:13.people around the world had campaigned to stop that happening

:03:13. > :03:17.and Troy Davis himself had always claimed he was innocent of murder.

:03:17. > :03:20.We know the death penalty is a subject that really divides people.

:03:20. > :03:23.If you want to know more about it we've got more info online.

:03:23. > :03:28.What happens if you team a rapper with the writer of one of CBBC's

:03:28. > :03:31.best loved shows? You get a new idea to get more kids into reading.

:03:31. > :03:37.Horrible Histories author Terry Deary has written a new story, not

:03:37. > :03:42.for books but for your mobile phone. It's called the Perfect Poison

:03:42. > :03:45.Pills Plot - 16 chapters, all the same length as a text message. He's

:03:45. > :03:48.got Chipmunk on board to help promote it. The rapper reckons kids

:03:48. > :03:52.are more likely to read on their gadgets than turning the pages of a

:03:52. > :03:55.book. Now to the spacecraft on a

:03:55. > :03:58.collision course with Earth! Scientists are warning that the

:03:58. > :04:01.satellite is going to crash back down on our planet tomorrow. But

:04:01. > :04:08.before you run for your satellite- proof bunker just know that the

:04:08. > :04:11.chances of anyone actually being hit are pretty slim.

:04:11. > :04:15.This may not look like much but it's actually a satellite hurtling

:04:15. > :04:20.out of control towards earth captured on film by an amateur

:04:20. > :04:26.astronomer. The six-ton space craft is due to crash land tomorrow

:04:26. > :04:29.evening. It was launched in 1991 by the

:04:29. > :04:33.Discovery space shuttle and has been out of action for the last six

:04:33. > :04:37.years. Now gravity is dragging it back to earth.

:04:37. > :04:40.NASA scientists are trying to track its route but because it's

:04:40. > :04:43.travelling at 5 miles a second it's moving so fast that they can't

:04:43. > :04:51.guarantee where it will land until a couple of hours before it gets

:04:51. > :04:54.here. Right now that could be almost anywhere on earth.

:04:54. > :05:00.It encompasses the entire world. Although most of the satellite will

:05:00. > :05:04.burn up in the atmosphere, 26 parts could survive and that's creating

:05:04. > :05:08.some dramatic headlines. NASA says a massive satellite is headed for

:05:08. > :05:13.earth in a crash landing. The good news is that NASA says no

:05:13. > :05:18.one has ever been hurt by objects re-entering from space and the

:05:18. > :05:21.chances of anyone being hit are about one in 3,000. So pretty

:05:21. > :05:24.unlikey. If you find any of it after it's landed NASA says not to

:05:24. > :05:29.touch it. It could be sharp, it could be

:05:29. > :05:32.still hot from re-entry perhaps and you could injure yourself. It's

:05:32. > :05:36.also remember the property of the US Government so you are not

:05:36. > :05:40.allowed to take it and sell it on ebay. Scientists will be watching

:05:40. > :05:45.the incoming satellite and probably secretly hoping it plunges quietly

:05:45. > :05:52.into the sea. Still 94 days until Christmas and

:05:52. > :05:55.the Time Lord himself has already started counting down. Today we've

:05:55. > :06:00.heard which famous faces will be appearing in the Doctor Who

:06:00. > :06:04.Christmas special. They include Outnumbered mum Claire Skinner and

:06:04. > :06:08.comedians Bill Bailey, Arabella Weir and Alexander Armstrong.

:06:08. > :06:11.We're heading to the other side of the world now for the story of an

:06:11. > :06:14.amazing Amazon rescue. When this couple got stuck in the rainforest

:06:14. > :06:17.in South America, miles from the nearest city they did what anyone

:06:17. > :06:24.would do - call home. But in this case home was 5,000 miles away in

:06:24. > :06:28.Eastbourne on Britain's south coast. This is where Bruce and Lesley's

:06:28. > :06:31.motorhome ended up when they tried to cross a wobbly bridge in a

:06:31. > :06:34.remote spot of the Amazon rainforest. They had been

:06:34. > :06:37.travelling around south America for almost five years, but at this

:06:37. > :06:42.point of the journey they hadn't seen anyone for days and the chance

:06:42. > :06:47.of being found at the bottom of the ravine was slim. It looked like a

:06:47. > :06:50.really good bridge and it just collapsed and the vehicle went down.

:06:50. > :06:55.That's about it, we couldn't continue our journey and the nice

:06:55. > :06:59.marines came and rescued us. Stuck 200 miles away from the nearest

:06:59. > :07:04.city, they knew their only chance of rescue rested on their satellite

:07:04. > :07:08.phone. They called relatives 5,000 miles away at home in Eastbourne

:07:08. > :07:12.and told them their exact location. Their family contacted Dover

:07:12. > :07:15.coastguards who alerted Falmouth coastguards in Cornwall before they

:07:15. > :07:19.passed on the message to the Brazilian Navy. Soon a helicopter

:07:19. > :07:25.was sent to the rescue. The couple weren't hurt and say they're glad

:07:25. > :07:28.to be safe. As for the motormoment, that might

:07:28. > :07:32.need a helping hand. Let's finish with a happy ending

:07:32. > :07:36.and a fantastic footy comeback. That's Owen Hargreaves in the red

:07:36. > :07:41.of Manchester United. But last night he wore the blue of Man City

:07:41. > :07:43.for the first time and started in scoring style. Because of injuries,

:07:43. > :07:49.the England midfielder only played six minutes of first-team football

:07:49. > :07:51.in the past three years. But what a way to mark his return. The goal
