:00:00. > :00:09.Hi! I'm Martin. I've got loads of news from around the world for you.

:00:10. > :00:12.Coming up in the next five: Another mysterious sea monster is discovered

:00:13. > :00:17.in California. And package holidays for your cuddly toys. This is

:00:18. > :00:26.Newsround. But first, a recent survey suggested

:00:27. > :00:33.that only one in five kids felt connected with the great outdoors.

:00:34. > :00:37.And children today are half as likely to play outside as much as

:00:38. > :00:44.grown ups did when they were young - instead choosing to spend their time

:00:45. > :00:48.inside with TV shows and games. Some experts say this can cause problems

:00:49. > :00:52.for your help. Nel's been to meet one dad so worried about this, he's

:00:53. > :00:57.made a film about getting kids back in touch with their wild side. It

:00:58. > :01:00.started when I noticed my children were watching too much television,

:01:01. > :01:04.certainly more than I did, and I thought, I want to do something

:01:05. > :01:10.about it. I noticed that the things they love doing our thing is like

:01:11. > :01:16.watching TV. How much do you love the television? 100 billion. It is

:01:17. > :01:21.so relaxing. They are heavily marketed, lots of markets and

:01:22. > :01:26.adverts. I thought I would make some adverts for nature. We had a lot of

:01:27. > :01:32.fun thinking of ways of getting the message across, big posters, my

:01:33. > :01:38.daughter licking a frog. Don't worry, it was a stunned frog. If we

:01:39. > :01:43.allow things to carry on, we will be completely isolated from the

:01:44. > :01:46.National -- natural world. It means you're not going outdoors and

:01:47. > :01:50.getting the benefits you get from being in a lovely space like this. I

:01:51. > :02:00.met children from around the UK and ask them what they thought about

:02:01. > :02:05.nature. It is unhygienic. I think more children should play

:02:06. > :02:12.outside because it is more fun and you get more fresh air. I once spent

:02:13. > :02:18.13 hours on the PlayStation. I wished I hadn't because after that I

:02:19. > :02:24.had a really bad headache and I could not get to sleep. Look at how

:02:25. > :02:28.long you spending on your screen time, swap it for some wild time,

:02:29. > :02:33.because it will do you a lot of good and you will enjoy it. Fire crews in

:02:34. > :02:37.tackling wildfires in Australia have merged two fires to try to

:02:38. > :02:41.control the blaze. There were fears that three of the fires west of

:02:42. > :02:43.Sydney would join to create a huge mega-fire. So fire fighters struck

:02:44. > :02:45.first, combining two of the fires into one that is easier to manage

:02:46. > :02:51.and contain. A chemical blamed for the deaths of

:02:52. > :02:56.thousands of sea birds across A chemical blamed for the deaths of

:02:57. > :02:59.south of England earlier this year will no longer be dumped at sea

:03:00. > :03:02.after a worldwide ban. The substance known as PIB caused an estimated

:03:03. > :03:05.4,000 bird deaths after being flushed into the sea by ships.

:03:06. > :03:10.Around 20 different species of bird were found washed up on beaches

:03:11. > :03:14.covered in the glue-like substance. Next - sea monsters - or at least,

:03:15. > :03:18.some seriously big fish. Last week, a 5-metre-long oarfish washed up on

:03:19. > :03:21.a beach in California - now a second mysterious fish has turned up and

:03:22. > :03:24.the animals have been causing a bit of a stir both on the beach and on

:03:25. > :03:39.social media. Imagine seeing something like this

:03:40. > :03:42.on your school trip. I was thinking I had no idea what it is. It looks

:03:43. > :03:44.like a snake but the giant eel. Oarfish are a little-known

:03:45. > :03:48.mysterious species that swim deep nearly a kilometre below the ocean's

:03:49. > :03:51.surface. Their strange looks and giant bodies mean they're the source

:03:52. > :03:55.of sea monster myths. Now there are rumours on social media that an

:03:56. > :03:57.earthquake is to blame - thanks to an ancient Japanese myth linking

:03:58. > :04:00.extremely rare oarfish sightings to tremors. But though scientists have

:04:01. > :04:09.dismissed these claims, they're still not sure why these fish are

:04:10. > :04:12.washing up on beaches. These two events are the only ones I have ever

:04:13. > :04:16.heard of. Tests on the first giant fish have revealed that it was in

:04:17. > :04:19.good health. So experts want to study this second specimen to learn

:04:20. > :04:24.more about this rare creature - and work out how it got here. Now we all

:04:25. > :04:28.like a holiday, but would you book one for your favourite toy? Well, a

:04:29. > :04:32.company in Japan is offering people to chance to do just that. Ungai

:04:33. > :04:37.Travel will pack toys off on their jollies for around 30 quid. And this

:04:38. > :04:40.got us wondering - if you could send your toys on holiday, where would

:04:41. > :04:44.they go? Emma would send her koala teddy to Australia so he would get

:04:45. > :04:47.to see some real koalas. But Theoharis would go even further He

:04:48. > :04:52.says he'd send his toy to the International Space Station. To find

:04:53. > :04:55.out which TV shows have been nominated for the Children's BAFTA

:04:56. > :04:59.Awards, head online, where you can see Hacker T Dog's reaction to his

:05:00. > :05:01.double nomination! But I'm out of time - I'll be back at 6:50 with

:05:02. > :05:03.your latest.
