0:00:16 > 0:00:22Hi. Welcome to a special Newsround. Six months ago today, there was a

0:00:22 > 0:00:27terror attack at the Ariana Grande concert in Manchester. It shocked

0:00:27 > 0:00:31the whole country. Hundreds of people were hurt and 22 people died.

0:00:31 > 0:00:35It affected not only the people who were there but many who watched the

0:00:35 > 0:00:41news too. Charities like the NSPCC and victim support said that

0:00:41 > 0:00:45hundreds of children got in touch with them to say they were worried

0:00:45 > 0:00:49or scared afterwards. ChildLine helped nearly 300 children in the

0:00:49 > 0:00:56two weeks after the attack, four times as many as usual. Haile has

0:00:56 > 0:01:02been speaking to many children who have told her they were scared to go

0:01:02 > 0:01:07into crowded places. They also told her how they talked about it, help

0:01:07 > 0:01:09each other, and what they learned about coming to terms with what

0:01:09 > 0:01:15happened. Emily and Lauren are friends. They went to the Ariana

0:01:15 > 0:01:19Grande concert together as it was a Christmas present from their

0:01:19 > 0:01:23parents.I remember it being great lights, everybody singing and

0:01:23 > 0:01:28dancing, and we all stood up to go, and all you heard was this bank and

0:01:28 > 0:01:34the floor started shaking. Everyone started running towards us. Then it

0:01:34 > 0:01:37was a bit scary.Everyone was screaming and running down the

0:01:37 > 0:01:44stairs.How did you feel when that was happening?Every emotion. I was

0:01:44 > 0:01:49scared. I didn't know what was going on.It makes you feel angry that

0:01:49 > 0:01:54someone would target a concert with such young people there. It's just

0:01:54 > 0:01:59horrible.The girls try to get back into normal life but found it

0:01:59 > 0:02:04difficult to escape what happened. There was so much about the bombing

0:02:04 > 0:02:09on the news.It was everywhere. You go one social media, it is all

0:02:09 > 0:02:14there, people putting messages. Everybody wanted to speak about it,

0:02:14 > 0:02:20so it is hard to get past that. Everyone was so focused on it at the

0:02:20 > 0:02:25time.Emily and Lauren have had help from their school counsellor and

0:02:25 > 0:02:29they started up a group where they could talk about what they were

0:02:29 > 0:02:32feeling.We spoke to a teacher because we were upset and had to

0:02:32 > 0:02:37leave lessons. They set us up in the school counsellor's offers and let

0:02:37 > 0:02:41us speak each other. I think that was the best thing to do.How did it

0:02:41 > 0:02:50help? Siam because everything they say makes sense --because

0:02:50 > 0:02:55everything they say makes sense. You realise you're not alone. You two

0:02:55 > 0:03:01have each other, did that help?Yes. We still speak about it. We

0:03:01 > 0:03:04obviously won't ever forget it but it is nice that we were there

0:03:04 > 0:03:09together. There is always someone to speak about it.Just because people

0:03:09 > 0:03:13can help you get through it and you are not alone. You are getting it

0:03:13 > 0:03:20off your chest and getting it... It makes you feel lighter about what

0:03:20 > 0:03:26happened.Many children all across the country have been affected by

0:03:26 > 0:03:30the news of what happened. At this school in North Wales they brought

0:03:30 > 0:03:34in extra support to help those kids who were upset and anxious, and

0:03:34 > 0:03:37they've even set up a choir where the people sing Ariana Grande songs

0:03:37 > 0:03:43and share how they are feeling. # I was a liar

0:03:43 > 0:03:54# I gave into the fire... #.

0:03:59 > 0:04:03Even though these children weren't at the concert, they've told me that

0:04:03 > 0:04:12they found it difficult to deal with the news of the attack. When I heard

0:04:12 > 0:04:18the news, I was shocked that it had happened so close to home.I feel

0:04:18 > 0:04:21more anxious when I go out, especially to big places where there

0:04:21 > 0:04:27are a load of people.I found my parents have helped me, and my

0:04:27 > 0:04:32relatives and my sister. They comforted me and helped me feel

0:04:32 > 0:04:39better when I was sad.I think now that it is past, the people ROK and

0:04:39 > 0:04:44I have more confidence. You can't let things like this take over your

0:04:44 > 0:04:51life forever.Everyone has come together as a world rather than

0:04:51 > 0:05:02letting it get to them.

0:05:07 > 0:05:11for Emily and Lauren, Ariana Grande has played a massive part in helping

0:05:11 > 0:05:16them.She's really strong to get through that. So many artists, if a

0:05:16 > 0:05:21thing like that happened to you, obviously she felt guilty but to

0:05:21 > 0:05:24come back so strong and put on that concert for a good cause, I think

0:05:24 > 0:05:30she really helped.Would you both go to a concert together?I would. I

0:05:30 > 0:05:37don't feel scared any more.you feel safe now?Yes, I feel safe.If you

0:05:37 > 0:05:40feel worried or upset by what happened in Manchester or anything

0:05:40 > 0:05:46else you hear about in the news, we have got advice Newsround online.

0:05:46 > 0:05:50There is more information and links charities which can help you. Of

0:05:50 > 0:05:57course, the rest of the day's news. Newsround is back from 7:40am

0:05:57 > 0:05:59tomorrow. See you soon bye-bye.
