0:00:03 > 0:00:05Hello everyone, I hope you're all having a good weekend.

0:00:05 > 0:00:08Here's what's coming up on Newsround:

0:00:08 > 0:00:12Stay tuned for the incredible dinosaur discovery.

0:00:12 > 0:00:15And epic weather pictures as a huge snow storm hammers

0:00:15 > 0:00:17America's east coast.

0:00:25 > 0:00:28But first to our top story, and it's a stinker.

0:00:29 > 0:00:32A team in London are going to extreme lengths to try to stop

0:00:32 > 0:00:35dog poo on our streets.

0:00:35 > 0:00:39Ricky's been sniffing this story out.

0:00:39 > 0:00:40Dog poo.

0:00:40 > 0:00:42It's pretty gross, isn't it?

0:00:42 > 0:00:44You're having a nice stroll in the park, then

0:00:44 > 0:00:45all of a sudden, ugh!

0:00:45 > 0:00:47You come across that!

0:00:47 > 0:00:49Don't you just hate it when some people don't

0:00:49 > 0:00:51clean up their dog's mess?

0:00:51 > 0:01:00If only there was a way of finding out who did this?

0:01:00 > 0:01:02I think this might be a job for the DPIU,

0:01:02 > 0:01:04the Dog Poo Investigation Unit.

0:01:05 > 0:01:08OK, so there is no such thing as a Dog Poo Investigation Unit,

0:01:08 > 0:01:11but one local council in London is getting

0:01:11 > 0:01:14tough on dog doo-doo.

0:01:14 > 0:01:17Barking and Dagenham council have launched a scheme to test dog poo,

0:01:17 > 0:01:21to try and catch owners who fail to clear up after their pets.

0:01:21 > 0:01:24Park Rangers will collect samples of dog mess and send

0:01:24 > 0:01:27it to a lab for DNA testing.

0:01:27 > 0:01:30Scientists will be comparing the DNA found in the samples with a list

0:01:30 > 0:01:33of registered dogs, and then the owner

0:01:33 > 0:01:36will be tracked down and fined.

0:01:36 > 0:01:38Getting DNA from dogs involves a simple swab,

0:01:38 > 0:01:41taking just a few seconds.

0:01:41 > 0:01:44It will also help if the dog is ever lost.

0:01:44 > 0:01:47Registering for this scheme is voluntary at the moment,

0:01:47 > 0:01:50but some people think that not all pet owners will sign up.

0:01:50 > 0:01:54A responsible dog owner will walk around with a bag in his pocket

0:01:54 > 0:01:58and pick it up.

0:01:58 > 0:02:00I think this is a waste of money.

0:02:00 > 0:02:02It's not realistic at all, in all honesty.

0:02:02 > 0:02:03It's not going to work.

0:02:03 > 0:02:06Barking Council say the doggy forensics will help keep the area

0:02:06 > 0:02:09clean and mess-free, inviting other councils

0:02:09 > 0:02:12to follow suit.

0:02:12 > 0:02:15So is this idea barking mad, or will it actually stop owners

0:02:15 > 0:02:17and their dogs leaving this mess behind?

0:02:17 > 0:02:25Tell you what, I'm going home, that's enough dog poo for me today.

0:02:25 > 0:02:29A ban on all fires has been issued in one state in Australia

0:02:29 > 0:02:31as firefighters try to tackle blazes there.

0:02:31 > 0:02:34It means that no open fires, such as campfires, will be allowed

0:02:34 > 0:02:36over the next four days.

0:02:36 > 0:02:39Authorities hope it will give fire crews a chance to bring more

0:02:39 > 0:02:44than 70 fires burning across Tasmania under control.

0:02:44 > 0:02:47Now, to the huge snow storm that's hitting the east coast of America.

0:02:47 > 0:02:49A state of emergency has been declared across six states,

0:02:49 > 0:02:53including the capital Washington, DC.

0:02:53 > 0:02:55Public transport has been cancelled in many places and people have been

0:02:55 > 0:02:58advised to stay indoors until the storm passes.

0:02:58 > 0:03:01Forecasters are predicting it'll be the heaviest snowfall in 100 years,

0:03:01 > 0:03:05with more than two feet of snow and winds of more than 50mph.

0:03:05 > 0:03:08We've been sent this special report from two kids in Washington

0:03:08 > 0:03:09where school has been cancelled.

0:03:09 > 0:03:10I'm Kara.

0:03:10 > 0:03:11And I'm Julia.

0:03:11 > 0:03:14And we had a snow day today.

0:03:14 > 0:03:16We live in Washington, DC.

0:03:16 > 0:03:19Today we were supposed to be expecting 30 inches.

0:03:19 > 0:03:22Of snow.

0:03:22 > 0:03:27It would have been 12, but tomorrow we are going to have 30

0:03:27 > 0:03:31inches of snow, right here in Washington, DC.

0:03:31 > 0:03:43And for tomorrow, we are making a sledding path that goes

0:03:43 > 0:03:44OK?

0:03:44 > 0:03:48And then we're going to turn left and then we're going to do a

0:03:48 > 0:03:51snow dance like this.

0:03:51 > 0:03:54Go snow, go snow!

0:03:54 > 0:03:57Next, wildlife presenter Sir David Attenborough says he has

0:03:57 > 0:04:01uncovered the world's biggest dinosaur in his latest documentary.

0:04:01 > 0:04:06Our Leah has been to meet him to find out more.

0:04:06 > 0:04:09A digital version of a titanosaurus.

0:04:09 > 0:04:16But could this computer-generated dinosaur ever become a reality?

0:04:16 > 0:04:18Sir David Attenborough, who was recently

0:04:18 > 0:04:21part of the team that uncovered the bones of this giant creature,

0:04:21 > 0:04:22believes anything is possible.

0:04:22 > 0:04:25Do you think there is a possibility that scientists could bring back

0:04:25 > 0:04:27dinosaurs from extinction?

0:04:27 > 0:04:31It would be very, very expensive to do.

0:04:31 > 0:04:34He believes the money would be better spent looking after animals

0:04:34 > 0:04:36around today.

0:04:36 > 0:04:38Plus, there would be no space for them.

0:04:38 > 0:04:40Where would the poor thing go?

0:04:40 > 0:04:42Where are you going to put him?

0:04:42 > 0:04:45You've got enough problems keeping elephants and

0:04:45 > 0:04:47finding space for them.

0:04:47 > 0:04:50Where are you going to fit a dinosaur that is ten

0:04:50 > 0:04:55times bigger than an elephant?

0:04:55 > 0:04:58But he was blown away by discovery made by a team of experts.

0:04:58 > 0:05:01This is its thighbone.

0:05:01 > 0:05:05They found over 200 separate bones.

0:05:05 > 0:05:09So we can be pretty sure what the animal looked like.

0:05:09 > 0:05:12It was very, very, very, big.

0:05:12 > 0:05:16That was a real excitement to see that.

0:05:16 > 0:05:19For Sir David, discovering fossils is still so exciting,

0:05:19 > 0:05:24and he believes there is so much more to find.

0:05:24 > 0:05:26Tennis, and Andy Murray is through to the fourth

0:05:26 > 0:05:30round of the Australian Open after beating Portugals Joao Sousa

0:05:30 > 0:05:31by three sets to one.

0:05:31 > 0:05:35He will play either Bernard Tomic or John Millman in his next match.

0:05:35 > 0:05:38If that wasn't exciting enough, Yohanna Konta has become the first

0:05:38 > 0:05:41British woman since 1987 to make it to the last 16

0:05:41 > 0:05:43of the Australian Open.

0:05:43 > 0:05:45Konta thrashed Czech Republic's Denisa

0:05:45 > 0:05:49Allertova 6-2, 6-2 in Melbourne.

0:05:49 > 0:05:54That's all from me, Newsround's back right here at around 2pm.

0:05:54 > 0:05:57See you then.
