0:04:12 > 0:04:16Scientists will be comparing the DNA found in the samples with a list
0:04:16 > 0:04:18of registered dogs, and then the owner
0:04:18 > 0:04:21will be tracked down and fined.
0:04:21 > 0:04:23Getting DNA from dogs involves a simple swab,
0:04:23 > 0:04:26taking just a few seconds.
0:04:26 > 0:04:30It will also help if the dog is ever lost.
0:04:30 > 0:04:33Registering for this scheme is voluntary at the moment,
0:04:33 > 0:04:36but some people think that not all pet owners will sign up.
