0:00:00 > 0:00:00Saturday as I go behind the scenes of the incredible match between city
0:00:00 > 0:00:11and Wigan. Quarter to eight in the morning on C BBC. Goodbye.
0:00:14 > 0:00:15Morning.
0:00:15 > 0:00:18Ricky here with your Friday morning Newsround.
0:00:18 > 0:00:21First today, children in the American state of Florida
0:00:21 > 0:00:23who survived a shooting at their school have met
0:00:23 > 0:00:25with President Trump and lawmakers.
0:00:25 > 0:00:27They went to the capital of Florida and to Washington DC,
0:00:27 > 0:00:30where they talked about the changes they want to happen...
0:00:36 > 0:00:40They went in their hundreds and wanted to be heard. Children from
0:00:40 > 0:00:45the school affected by the shooting were joined alongside hundreds of
0:00:45 > 0:00:49other students in Florida and Washington, DC. Some of the
0:00:49 > 0:00:53survivors of the shooting met with President Trump because they want
0:00:53 > 0:00:58changes to the gun laws so this will not happen again. Trump suggested if
0:00:58 > 0:01:01teachers in America were armed with guns themselves they might be able
0:01:01 > 0:01:07to stop a shooting from happening. Some people support the President's
0:01:07 > 0:01:11suggestion but others say more guns is not the answer to the problem.
0:01:11 > 0:01:14The US leader also said he would like better checks on the
0:01:14 > 0:01:18backgrounds are people who want to buy guns. While the meeting took
0:01:18 > 0:01:23place hundreds of children marched outside. Many children across
0:01:23 > 0:01:25America are planning to come together in Washington, DC next
0:01:25 > 0:01:31month for a protest they have called March for our lives.
0:01:32 > 0:01:35For more on this story, go and take a look at our guide
0:01:35 > 0:01:36at Newsround online.
0:01:36 > 0:01:38We've also got advice there if you're upset
0:01:38 > 0:01:40by what you see in the news.
0:01:40 > 0:01:42Football now, and Arsenal survived a scare in their Europa
0:01:42 > 0:01:43League tie last night.
0:01:43 > 0:01:46Leading 3-0 from the first leg against Ostersunds FK of Sweden,
0:01:46 > 0:01:50they gave away two goals in the first half.
0:01:50 > 0:01:53But to the relief of the home crowd, Kolasniac's goal secured a win,
0:01:53 > 0:01:55getting the gunners through to the next round.
0:01:55 > 0:02:00The final score was 4-2 win on aggregate.
0:02:00 > 0:02:02But Celtic's European hopes are over.
0:02:02 > 0:02:08Despite leading 1-0 from the first leg match
0:02:08 > 0:02:10against Zenit St Petersburg, Celtic let in three goals, crashing
0:02:10 > 0:02:14out of the Europa League.
0:02:14 > 0:02:16Dr Tom has the answer to an explosive question ?
0:02:16 > 0:02:19how are fireworks made?
0:02:19 > 0:02:27Dr Tom is an expert, so please do not try this at home.
0:02:35 > 0:02:39Hello, I am Doctor Tom, a fireworks expert. I am here to answer the big
0:02:39 > 0:02:45question this week, which is from Rees in Cambridgeshire and it is how
0:02:45 > 0:02:49fireworks made? A firework is a lot of different chemical reactions. To
0:02:49 > 0:02:55make colours we add metal salt to the firework mix. So we had a strong
0:02:55 > 0:03:01team to get read. Very to get green. Sodium salts to get yellow. And to
0:03:01 > 0:03:05get blue, the most difficult colour of the lot, you add copper salt to
0:03:05 > 0:03:10the mix. What you packed into the fireworks to make it effective are
0:03:10 > 0:03:15called stars. This is a star. This will burn the Violet and in the
0:03:15 > 0:03:19middle it changes the composition and burns with silver sparks. About
0:03:19 > 0:03:23the size of a pea and hundreds of them are in a firework shell. Black
0:03:23 > 0:03:27powder or gunpowder as some call it is one of the key ingredient in
0:03:27 > 0:03:33making byword. It is two purposes. Sometimes to produce gold sparks of
0:03:33 > 0:03:37long duration flowing down to the ground and making it look pretty but
0:03:37 > 0:03:42more often as a propellant to shoot a shell into the sky or to motor a
0:03:42 > 0:03:47rocket. Fireworks sound like whistles and screeches and they are
0:03:47 > 0:03:52made from different types of chemistry. We press a tiny band of
0:03:52 > 0:03:55this composition into the bottom of the tube and in the rest of the tube
0:03:55 > 0:03:59it acts like an organ pipe to amplify the sound and make a really
0:03:59 > 0:04:06loud sound. This is a firework mortar. It is what is used to fire
0:04:06 > 0:04:11the fireworks into the air. We have hundreds and hundreds of these added
0:04:11 > 0:04:15together and the shell goes in here. The bottom part is for the black
0:04:15 > 0:04:19powder to propel the shell into the air and the top part is full of the
0:04:19 > 0:04:27stars reducing the big burst of colour in the sky.-- producing.
0:04:27 > 0:04:29Head online for something we want to hear YOUR views about.
0:04:29 > 0:04:32After a school in Norfolk has banned kids from having certain hairstyles,
0:04:32 > 0:04:35we want to know if you think that should be allowed.
0:04:35 > 0:04:37Get online and join in with the vote.
0:04:37 > 0:04:39Over at the Winter Olympics a 15-year-old figure
0:04:39 > 0:04:40skater has won gold.
0:04:40 > 0:04:42Alina Zagitova topped the scoreboard with this performance,
0:04:42 > 0:04:45narrowly beating her Russian team mate to take the top prize.
0:04:45 > 0:04:48It's the first gold won by Olympic Athletes from Russia
0:04:48 > 0:04:51at the games so far.
0:04:51 > 0:04:52That's it for now.
