:00:25. > :00:26.It's 400 years since the death of the country's best

:00:27. > :00:31.But why should we still care about him?

:00:32. > :00:44.Without even knowing it, we owe quite a lot of the language we use

:00:45. > :00:49.today to William Shakespeare. It's thought he came up with words like

:00:50. > :00:55.excellent, gloomy and even coined the phrase batch and inch. You don't

:00:56. > :01:00.have to understand all of his language. What I love about him is

:01:01. > :01:04.if you get a grasp for characters, you're pretty much halfway there.

:01:05. > :01:07.That's happening at this school in Cheshire. They are tackling one of

:01:08. > :01:15.his more complicated tragedies, Lear.

:01:25. > :01:28.never heard of William Shakespeare before now. It's just incredible how

:01:29. > :01:32.long his plays have been going on for. Until about seven years old, I

:01:33. > :01:38.didn't really know about, who Shakespeare was. What I find

:01:39. > :01:43.impressive is the fact that he wrote around 38 plays and created 1000

:01:44. > :01:47.words. Shakespeare really neat -- made a name for himself when he

:01:48. > :01:51.travelled to London. One man who knows pretty much everything about

:01:52. > :01:55.Shakespeare is author Michael Rosen. Across from primary school once told

:01:56. > :01:59.me the thing about Shakespeare is you get to the big stuff really

:02:00. > :02:05.quickly. You get his stuff like love and death and greed and jealousy and

:02:06. > :02:11.hate all those big things, and you get to them really quickly. For

:02:12. > :02:15.these children, the hope is, 400 years on from today everyone still

:02:16. > :02:17.will be talking about Britain's best-known playwright.

:02:18. > :02:19.Next, it's FA Cup semi-finals weekend and it's Everton

:02:20. > :02:21.and Manchester United battling it out today.

:02:22. > :02:23.Both teams have a successful history in the FA Cup,

:02:24. > :02:26.but the last two times they've both met in the semi-finals,

:02:27. > :02:35.And Doctor Who fans will have to tune into that FA Cup semi-final
